Lawyer fired for expressing support for
Dobbs decision during conference call

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published an opinion piece by attorney Robin Keller describing how she lost her job at a large law firm after daring to speak up in favor of the Dobbs decision. This didn’t happen at a general staff meeting but on a conference call explicitly held to allow staffers to discuss the decision. After the Supreme Court issued its Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade in June, global law firm Hogan Lovells organized an online conference call for female employees. As a retired equity partner still actively serving clients, I was invited to participate in what was billed as a “safe space” for women

Woman attends call to discuss the SC case. Expresses her opinion, gets fired. This must be the great liberal tolerance I keep hearing about. She should sue for violation of civil rights. Hard to believe that a law firm would be stupid enough to fire a person because other employees don't like her opinions.

Wow. I would hold off using this law firm. If most of the female lawyers thought the over turning was bad then I question their skills as a lawyer. Most know this law was on shaky ground for decades. It was based on legislating from the bench and a very far reach of the definition of individual rights. Shows the hypocrisy of the left. All is good until you disagree with a liberal. The left kept the law in limbo for decades for the threat of it overturning brought in a lot of campaign money. A solid law in place would cause the saber rattling to end along with a campaign revenue source!

Once again, Shakespeare had it right! One day, it wouldn't surprise me to hear about a state have an open season on Lawyers. They could sell Political lawyer tags and Ambulance chaser tags, etc; the most expensive tags would be for politicians who are lawyers. So long and the license fees went to help the veterans, I'd support it!

When mean girls get power they become tyrant girls. When sensible women get power they become leaders to be admired. That law firm is infested with mean girls. Note, it is not an accident that I call them girls. They are far far away from being women.

Wow! Shocking. And disturbing, too. This was a meeting of women who were at the top of their law school classes. Roe v. Wade has always been controversial from a legal standpoint. Were are the men on this? Are they so afraid to stand up for their colleague and defend free speech? This, by the way, is John Roberts old law firm.

The call was "a safe space".... unless you disagree with them, and then you had exposed your disagreement, and that was cause for firing. Leftists just CANNOT bridle any disagreement with their baby murdering. "MUST kill the babies!" is their rallying cry.

Censorship by surrogate: Why Musk’s

“Handled.” That one word, responding to a 2020 demand to censor a list of Twitter users, speaks volumes about the thousands of documents released by Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, on Friday night. As many of us have long suspected, there were back channels between Twitter and the Biden 2020 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to ban critics or remove negative stories. Those seeking to discuss the scandal were simply “handled,” and nothing else had to be said. Ultimately, the New York Post was suspended from Twitter for reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop scandal. Twitter even blocked users from sharing

Arizona Democratic Governor-Elect Katie Hobbs plans to call a special session to clarify state abortion laws on day one of her administration in January, which could put her in an awkward position from the start. The Democrat is looking to get the 1864 territorial law that only permits abortion in the case of a mother’s health risk repealed, as there are two conflicting laws on the books. The other law is a 15-week ban signed by Republican Gov. Doug Ducey in March that does not include exceptions for rape and incest past that point. Although Hobbs does not support the 15-week ban, she’s operating under the assumption

Is Elon Musk just trolling at this point? That’s a real possibility given who he’s chosen to give access to the now infamous “Twitter files” surrounding the censorship of the Hunter Biden story. It’s not that the reporters involved aren’t great at their jobs. On the contrary, they are excellent choices in that regard. Rather, it’s the hysterical reactions they elicit. First came Matt Taibbi, who spent Friday evening posting revelations from the document dump. Naturally, he was excoriated by his leftwing colleagues who feel Americans are too stupid to have unfettered access to information. Now, Musk is upping the ante, giving Bari Weiss

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried should be in custody by now, as far as Brian Armstrong is concerned. The Coinbase CEO said this week it’s “baffling to me why he’s not in custody already.” “The DOJ or somebody should be able to make—just based on his public statements, I think there’s a very open and shut case for fraud,” Armstrong said at the a16z crypto Founder Summit on Tuesday. He added, “I’m not an expert on this, but the people I talk to seem to agree on that.” Armstrong also questioned why the media has refrained from calling Bankman-Fried a criminal.

Doha, Qatar — The devastating blow that knocked the U.S. men's national team out of the 2022 World Cup was a 21-pass Dutch masterpiece. It was class and ruthlessness personified, clockwork orange from front to back to front. It crushed American optimism that had swelled throughout two weeks in Qatar, and eventually sent the American team trudging toward their traditional exit. It led to Netherlands 3, U.S. 1 here at the Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday, and to a game during which the USMNT crashed head-first into its current ceiling.

Apple is pushing to expedite a pivot away from manufacturing in China, as protests swell over the country's strict zero-Covid policies and riots thwart production. The technology giant is ramping up efforts to shift production to other Asian countries like India and Vietnam in order to distance itself from Foxconn, one of the company's top suppliers and operator of the world's largest iPhone factory in China, according to the Wall Street Journal. While the move has been planned for months, after shifting COVID-19 policies enacted by the Chinese Communist Party first began to threaten production earlier this year, sources told the Journal that recent uprisings at the Zhengzhou

Twitter’s former top lawyer Vijaya Gadde was singled out in an explosive Twitter thread on Friday by independent journalist Matt Taibbi, who purportedly obtained communications between top officials at the social media company in the wake of The Post’s October 2020 story on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop.

Twitter should have paid attention to that because it looks like they went far over the edge with what they did.
