House Democrats might release former President Donald Trump’s tax returns, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Dec. 1.
The decision would be up to Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) and members of the panel, Pelosi said.
“That’s a judgment they’re going to have to make,” she told reporters during a briefing in Washington.
The judgment would be in keeping with the purpose of acquiring the returns, which Neal has said is examining the way the IRS audits presidents and considering legislative reform to the program, Pelosi added.

Pelosi should be careful with such precedence. Her tax records as well as Obama, Biden, Clinton,Clinton Foundation tax’s records will then be released. Same if they are leaked

She continues:
“I would hope that the public would have the opportunity to see but again, it’s complicated. It’s technical, it’s legal,” she said. “And Richie Neal has handled this with great dignity. There have been those in the public who were saying he should be doing this and you should be doing that. No, you should be handling it with the dignity that it deserves.”
We’d love to see yours and Paul’s, too, Nancy. Handled with dignity, of course...

Conservatives should run to the mic right now and say if that happens, they will sequester and release Pelosi’s, Schumers, Shiffs, Clinton’s and Obama’s in Jan 2023.

Well the dog finally caught the car - now what? The dums have their "precious", but can't make heads or tails of them, so they need to crowd source the tax returns. Did we really expect anything different?

Okay. Fair play insists that Republicans request and release all the returns of Democrat leaders.
Let's see how far that goes.

A Harry Reid moment has occurred. Next tax returns to be released are the Pelosi's, the Biden Crime Family, Pencil-Neck's, the list goes on and on. Bring it on.

Kevin Brady is a gem:
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), the top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee, also reacted negatively.
“The Supreme Court has no idea what their inaction unleashes,” Brady said. “By effectively granting the majority party in either chamber of Congress nearly unlimited power to target and make public the tax returns of political enemies—political figures, private citizens, or even justices of the Supreme Court themselves—they are opening a dangerous new political battleground where no citizen is safe.”
And have a look at Richie Neal’s photo. Crrrrazy…. I wouldn’t want him to have my phone number.

I do my own taxes and always have so I understand the basics of income tax but when I mention such common things as 'standard deduction' to a friend they look at me like I'm speaking French. So just who is going to understand Trump's complicated taxes? Not congress.

As much as I'd like to see all the aforementioned characters' returns - this is bad news. I thought they were private for everybody. Such a lawless government.

These were not obtained for Congress to peruse/understand. They were gotten by Neal/Pelosi to do just what she is talking up Releasing them. Hoping to embarrass or somehow compromise him. Will they have all the K1s from various corporations attached? Shouldn’t. Without those, they won’t have much.

Trump has said many times that he is audited continuously. There won't be anything nefarious to find. They just want to trample upon his privacy.

Yes, and the HIPPA law says individual medical records are private (just like tax returns) but that protection was pierced with the covid vac record you had to carry around and display on request.

Well Pelosi and the Democrats are going to do with Trump’s tax returns what they always intended to do with Trump’s tax returns, release them publicly in an attempt to politically embarrass him by having Democrat tax accountants and tax lawyers taking “pot shots” at just about every line item included on Trump’s tax returns. Chances of anything really criminal being found in those tax returns that were prepared by very highly paid professional tax accountants and lawyers, after which those returns were examined and accepted each year by special units within the IRS are slim to none. By doing that the Democrats are also setting up a “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander” precedent, whereby the wimpy Republicans could, if they could conger up the “huevos” (balls) do the same with the tax returns of Democrat Presidents.
The tax returns of all US Citizens are supposed to be held in confidence by the IRS so you have to wonder why US Citizens who are elected President will now have less rights regarding their tax returns being held in confidence by the IRS? Common sense will tell you such political meddling into a President’s tax returns will no doubt keep a lot of very qualified people outside the “UniParty” political establishments from even thinking of running for President in the future.

So years of the IRS looking into Trump's tax returns means nothing. Piglosi thinks she knows more than the IRS does.

Congress has no business looking at anyone's tax returns. If the IRS has no problem with Trump's returns, neither should Congress. This is nothing more than a fishing expedition. Shame on the Supremes for allowing this nonsense.
Remember the Harry Reid Theorem: What ever the Democrats can do when their in power, the Republicans can also do when they are in power.

I love Superhero movies and often use them as references. Remember my fellow L-Dotter Superhero buffs when in Captain America: The Winter Soldier Scarlett Johansson's character The Black Widow put all of Hydra's secrets on the Worldwide Webs. If they release PDJT's tax returns that's what should happen to Nancy (Skeletor) Pelosi's, Chuck (Snidely Whiplash) Schumer's, Adam (Lollipop Neck) Schiff's, Maxine (Aunt Ester) Water's, James (Muskrat on his head) Raskin's and Joseph (Sniffy, Dopey, Grumpy, Gropey Dwarf) Biden's. All in the spirit of fairness. Have a good weekend all.

Turnabout is fair play-- lets see just HOW these demonrat socialist Marxist politicians can get so rich in politics, and get THEIR returns as well under the guise of criminal investigations--
President Truman said "you don't get rich in politics unless you're a crook". TRUMP was already rich before he was President of the United States of America.

Nancy is the one who wants them exposed to the public. Her fumbling remarks could open the door for the exposure of the returns of all previous presidents and the current one. Will her pal “Richie” Neal knuckle under to her? She seems to have forgotten she’s no longer the boss. Or is she?
