And the lean six sigma just in time concept was likely also adapted so there is little storage. I worked at a defense contractor and objected to the concept. It may be fine for large scale commercial manufacturing but is a liability for essential products.

Perhaps the Euroweenies should start working to open the strait of Hormuz. WE have no need of the shipping that moves thru there. THEY do, and they better get their ships cranked up and in place to protect THEIR OIL and THEIR LNG.

Trump has clearly told them, if YOU want the oil, YOU need to protect it. Maybe YOU should blow up some Iranian missile sites and miscellaneous aircraft and ships that are problems. Europe and others wanted to kick the Iranian can down the road to avoid this result but a nuclear Iran would have been a MUCH worse problem. They would have been in an even worse position in another year or two as they crawled to net zero. It's pay the bill now or a much higher bill later but Europe is too weak for confrontations so they always shy away until it becomes an unavoidable catastrophe. That's what they did with Hitler and without the US they would all have been goose stepping to this day. It's going to be a very interesting mess for Europe.

My uneducated guess is that all they need is 7 destroyers, 3 tankers and 5 minesweepers and they could keep the straight open. That doesn't seem like much.

It would appear that the free ride party is over for Europe. Perhaps if they embrace Sharia Law, the Middle East would consider selling them oil at a very steep price.

In a two-week period right after the 2024 election, the most energy expended by the transition team putting a cabinet together was toward Main Justice or the Dept of Justice. As a consequence, those around Lutnick and Wiles spent an incredible amount of time thinking about the Attorney General pick. Following an insider discussion, I spoke with several people about positions and appointments, focused on pointing out that the transition’s priorities were misplaced. The AG needed to be someone with exceptional moral character, capable of gathering information and presenting it for public consumption, with the option of supporting criminal referrals if necessary.

The birthright citizenship fight is one of the most important battles in front of the Supreme Court. It’s there right now, and yesterday, in a historic move, President Trump became the first president in US history to sit and listen to oral arguments. (snipThen came Justice Alito, and unlike Ketanji Brown Jackson and her emotional fog machine, he brought the argument back to the real issue: allegiance and the actual legal meat of the question. But Alito went a step further, totally nuking the Dems’ entire argument with this one brilliantly played scenario… based in fact.

The American people are already furious that the Senate slithered off into recess without getting the SAVE Act over the finish line, even though requiring proof of citizenship and voter ID is one of the very few issues that actually has bipartisan support across the country. It’s literally one of the few things we can agree on, and our elected officials are like “oh well, too bad for you…unresolved, and the people we sent to DC to do a job vanish the second they need to actually represent us. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday regulating elections nationwide by establishing a list of voters eligible to vote by mail. “The cheating on mail-in voting is legendary. It’s horrible what has been going on,” Trump said. “If you don’t have honest voting, you can’t have, really, a nation.”According to the order—which is expected to spark legal challenges—only American citizens are eligible to vote by mail, with lists verified by the Homeland Security Department, in coordination with the Social Security Administration. The U.S. Postal Service is ordered to only send ballots to individuals included on the lists, with unique bar codes applied to each envelope—one per voter—to facilitate tracking and audits.

ANGELS CAMP, Calif.—Record-high gold prices hovering at about $5,000 per ounce have triggered a renewed interest in prospecting and mining and what could be the start of a mini gold rush in the California Mother Lode, according to local miners. The historic belt of gold quartz veins in the Sierra Nevadas spawned the 19th-century gold rush and continues to draw modern prospectors. The spike in gold prices has made small- and medium-scale mining operations more feasible, said Rusty Simpson, co-CEO of Meeting of the Mines Goldstrike Corp., based in Angels Camp.

The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission on March 26 accused China of detaining Panama-flagged vessels in response to Panama’s termination of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison’s concessions for two key ports.Panama’s Supreme Court ruled in late January that the concessions held by Panama Ports Company, a unit of CK Hutchison, for the Balboa and Cristobal terminals in the Panama Canal were unconstitutional. The ruling followed an audit by Panama’s comptroller, which alleged irregularities in the 25-year extension of the concession granted in 2021. Following the ruling, Panama named U.S. subsidiaries Maersk APM Terminals and Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) Terminal Investment Limited as interim operators of the ports under 18-month contracts.

GRAPEVINE, Texas—Europe is going to need a “Trump-style revolution” to turn back the tide of illegal immigration that has changed the face of Europe, according to two former prime ministers. Liz Truss, former British Prime Minister, told those attending the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that an elite class in Britain and Europe wants to destroy Western civilization. “There has been a globalist movement,” she said. “They captured the institutions, universities, mainstream media, corporate sector, and bureaucracy. They believe in open borders.”Truss said the conservative party in Britain didn’t do enough to stop the globalists who support illegal immigrants and transgender ideology, and don’t believe the family is important.

Globalist leaders spent years flooding Europe with failed “refugees welcome” policies that have destroyed communities, crushed national identity, erased traditions, and helped turn once-safe countries into places filled with soaring violent crime. Should California codify Islamic religious observances into state-recognized holidays in the United States? As a nation, the essence of who we are as a People is rooted in our Judeo-Christian values and principles, dating back to the Magna Carta. This shared moral vocabulary has shaped Western thinking since America’s founding. Why, then, would any State in the Union formally endorse or incorporate into our educational and other public institutions a religious doctrine with practices antithetical to the belief system? AB 2017, introduced by Progressive Democrats Assemblyman Matt Haney and Senator Aisha Wahab, proposes adding Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast) and Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice) to California’s recognized holidays.
