Alabama's Aden Holloway found with 2.1

Authorities found 2.1 pounds of marijuana in Alabama star Aden Holloway's apartment when he was arrested on a felony drug possession charge Monday morning, according to charging documents obtained by ESPN on Tuesday. The amount discovered in the arrest is significant because any amount of marijuana above 2.2 pounds -- or a kilogram -- in the state of Alabama can result in a drug trafficking charge. Holloway, who was "removed from campus" and is not with the team days before the NCAA tournament because of the arrest, told police he wanted to exercise his Miranda rights and remain silent during the search of his apartment but then told police "he only smokes."

Aden Holloway told the police that that kilo of marijuana is for "personal use." Well, of course it is. We could have guessed that. In the meantime, Aden is off the team, seeded #1 in their bracket. Big, fat felony. Nice thinking, Aden!

Athletes used to be role models for children. A pot smoking basketballer who is wasting a free education still probably fills that role for most of the ghetto kids these days. With that kind of guidance it's no wonder they do what they do. This kid ruined more lives than his own.

Pick up the ghetto trash and give them a scholarship (sans any actual education, of course) and guess what? They act like ghetto trash.

2.1 pounds? That's probably about a two week supply for the modern doper athlete.

Aden got "bursted." Being a felon won't do any wonders for his future, and might even jeopardize his hoped for NBA career. Illegal drug dealing: it's another example of "radically present oriented" behavior, in the words of Professor Ed Banfield's The Unheavenly City. Upper class people of all races plan for the future; lower class people of all races want their satisfaction now. They're uninterested in anything that takes more than a moment, or more than a day. Not in their wheelhouse.

Celebrations for what would have been civil rights activist Cesar Chavez's 99th birthday are being canceled ahead of what's being described as "deeply troubling allegations" against the historic figure. Across the country, several local organizations began canceling their upcoming celebrations in anticipation of an upcoming story that is expected to share concerning reports about the former labor union advocate. As cancellations grew, the United Farm Workers (UFW), an organization co-founded by Chavez, released a statement on Tuesday confirming allegations were being made, including ones involving abuse of young women or minors. In response, the UFW announced it would no longer take part in any Cesar Chavez Day activities.

Trump: Cuba's President Has Got to Go 8 replies

The NY Times is reporting this afternoon that President Trump is demanding Cuba's current president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, be removed from power in any deal with the country. This may be the first time people inside the administration have said so directly, but it has been obvious for weeks that this is what they had in mind. The other part of this, which also isn't really news, is that Trump is willing to leave some version of the regime in place so long as that regime is America friendly moving forward. As U.S. and Cuban officials negotiate over the future of the Communist-ruled and economically besieged Caribbean island, the Trump administration is seeking

The Obama Presidential Center is gearing up for its grand opening in June, but there is still lots to do before the doors open. One of those things is getting people in place who will staff the facility. But if you thought that working in Chicago's newest "unique" building might land you a decent salary, well, think again. Your "salary" will come in the form of getting to be part of the "experience." The Obama Center is looking for unpaid volunteers to make up the workforce. While volunteering for something you believe in is a noble cause, it's just that — volunteering — and volunteering doesn't put food on the table.

At the Oscars we got to see a presenter say Free Palestine and no Wars. An Oscar winner said we should not elect anyone who doesn't care about the children. They demand to Free Palestine but they never demand that Iranians, Venezuelans, and Cubans get freedom from tyrants. They didn't protest as tens of thousands of Iranians were mowed down. They haven't protested when the women's Iranian soccer team was threatened. Where are the women's athletes that always protest anything Trump does? oday, most of those self-identifying as LGBTQ are young women. The growth has been dramatic. In the US, some thirty percent of Gen Z women (age 18-27) are self-identifying as LGBTQ, etc.—mainly lesbian and—compared to around 1-2% for women in the World War 2 generation. This means that almost a third of traditionally marital-age women are likely disinterested in traditional marriage. This is a significant factor in why almost half of Americans are unmarried. As a result of the decline in marriages, the American replacement rate continues its slide south of the 2.1 children per couple needed for replacement. It is now hovering at 1.6. If one argues that lesbian couples

The Communist dictatorship in Cuba is on its last legs. For decades, it had a parasitical relationship with the Soviet Union, which kept it alive economically, militarily, and politically. The Soviet Union was able to last for as long as it did because it was truly gargantuan, spanning two continents and filled with natural resources which the government utilized to stave off the inevitable end of all Marxist regimes. But when it, in turn, collapsed, Cuba’s economy took an even deeper dive than before, euphemistically referred to as the “Special Period.” Then, oil-rich Venezuela, the wealthiest country in South America, became Communist and extended a lifeline to Cuba while it, too,

In modern journalism, narrative comes first. The storyline is written before the reporting begins. Facts arrive later — if at all. A now-deleted social media post from CNN offered a striking example of how easily reality can be reshaped when facts collide with the wrong storyline. When two suspects were arrested after throwing homemade bombs near the residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, CNN initially described them as “two Pennsylvania teenagers [who] crossed into New York City … for what could’ve been a normal day enjoying the city during abnormally warm weather.” The attempted bombing was mentioned only afterward. The framing read less like a crime report and more like the opening line

The rumor that's circulating in Middle Eastern political networks claims that Iranian cleric Hojtaba Khamenei may be in poor condition while he struggles to command respect among key figures inside the regime. Mojtaba Khamenei remains widely viewed as the center of Iran's leadership after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who served as Iranian supreme leader for over 30 years and whose death created a sudden leadership vacuum. Iranian state media later confirmed the killing and declared a 40-day national mourning period as the regime moved quickly to maintain control and reassure supporters that the government remained intact. The Iranian supreme leader has held ultimate authority over Iran's military forces,

As we reported, President Donald Trump called out European countries that rejected his request for ships to help out in a coalition to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. How many decades have we provided them protection from Russia, only to have them not pay their fair share until Trump forced them to do it? Yet they can't even be bothered to provide us help now, to protect their own interests. Here's Germany's Boris Pistorious saying they didn't start the war. So much for such an "ally."
