Trump: Cuba's President Has Got to Go

Original Article

The NY Times is reporting this afternoon that President Trump is demanding Cuba's current president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, be removed from power in any deal with the country. This may be the first time people inside the administration have said so directly, but it has been obvious for weeks that this is what they had in mind. The other part of this, which also isn't really news, is that Trump is willing to leave some version of the regime in place so long as that regime is America friendly moving forward. As U.S. and Cuban officials negotiate over the future of the Communist-ruled and economically besieged Caribbean island, the Trump administration is seeking

Wow! Talk about predictive "news"--at 10:00 a.m. central time, it can't be "afternoon" in NY yet!

How many million people in the last 60 years have thought the same thing...."Those damned Commies in Cuba have to go" ? And only Trump makes it happen, while doing a million other things to fundamentally change the world. Incredible guy.

Cuba needs to become a capitalist country in order to grow. And grow they will, people will be going there in droves as soon and they elect to toss Communism in the toilet.

Yes. The Cuban communists need to go. They have had 66 years in power to make Cuba prosperous, but instead, have driven the country into the 9th century. Trump is doing a great job! The Cuban leadership can flee to Russia --- before the Cubans hang them all.

If Cuba can get rid of the Communist overlords running their country they have ruined, the Cuban people have a chance at living a decent, prosperous life. In their salad days, my uncle and my cousin used to travel to Havana for the wonderful night-life. They were also accompanied by a couple of, ahem, young lady friends. This, of course, scandalized their Presbyterian mothers, but they had some great times.

Celebrations for what would have been civil rights activist Cesar Chavez's 99th birthday are being canceled ahead of what's being described as "deeply troubling allegations" against the historic figure. Across the country, several local organizations began canceling their upcoming celebrations in anticipation of an upcoming story that is expected to share concerning reports about the former labor union advocate. As cancellations grew, the United Farm Workers (UFW), an organization co-founded by Chavez, released a statement on Tuesday confirming allegations were being made, including ones involving abuse of young women or minors. In response, the UFW announced it would no longer take part in any Cesar Chavez Day activities.

Authorities found 2.1 pounds of marijuana in Alabama star Aden Holloway's apartment when he was arrested on a felony drug possession charge Monday morning, according to charging documents obtained by ESPN on Tuesday. The amount discovered in the arrest is significant because any amount of marijuana above 2.2 pounds -- or a kilogram -- in the state of Alabama can result in a drug trafficking charge. Holloway, who was "removed from campus" and is not with the team days before the NCAA tournament because of the arrest, told police he wanted to exercise his Miranda rights and remain silent during the search of his apartment but then told police "he only smokes."

The Obama Presidential Center is gearing up for its grand opening in June, but there is still lots to do before the doors open. One of those things is getting people in place who will staff the facility. But if you thought that working in Chicago's newest "unique" building might land you a decent salary, well, think again. Your "salary" will come in the form of getting to be part of the "experience." The Obama Center is looking for unpaid volunteers to make up the workforce. While volunteering for something you believe in is a noble cause, it's just that — volunteering — and volunteering doesn't put food on the table.

At the Oscars we got to see a presenter say Free Palestine and no Wars. An Oscar winner said we should not elect anyone who doesn't care about the children. They demand to Free Palestine but they never demand that Iranians, Venezuelans, and Cubans get freedom from tyrants. They didn't protest as tens of thousands of Iranians were mowed down. They haven't protested when the women's Iranian soccer team was threatened. Where are the women's athletes that always protest anything Trump does? Our sexist, racist President who hates foreigners and Muslims is the one trying to save them. The Pope and others say wars never achieve peace.

oday, most of those self-identifying as LGBTQ are young women. The growth has been dramatic. In the US, some thirty percent of Gen Z women (age 18-27) are self-identifying as LGBTQ, etc.—mainly lesbian and—compared to around 1-2% for women in the World War 2 generation. This means that almost a third of traditionally marital-age women are likely disinterested in traditional marriage. This is a significant factor in why almost half of Americans are unmarried. As a result of the decline in marriages, the American replacement rate continues its slide south of the 2.1 children per couple needed for replacement. It is now hovering at 1.6. If one argues that lesbian couples

The Communist dictatorship in Cuba is on its last legs. For decades, it had a parasitical relationship with the Soviet Union, which kept it alive economically, militarily, and politically. The Soviet Union was able to last for as long as it did because it was truly gargantuan, spanning two continents and filled with natural resources which the government utilized to stave off the inevitable end of all Marxist regimes. But when it, in turn, collapsed, Cuba’s economy took an even deeper dive than before, euphemistically referred to as the “Special Period.” Then, oil-rich Venezuela, the wealthiest country in South America, became Communist and extended a lifeline to Cuba while it, too,

In modern journalism, narrative comes first. The storyline is written before the reporting begins. Facts arrive later — if at all. A now-deleted social media post from CNN offered a striking example of how easily reality can be reshaped when facts collide with the wrong storyline. When two suspects were arrested after throwing homemade bombs near the residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, CNN initially described them as “two Pennsylvania teenagers [who] crossed into New York City … for what could’ve been a normal day enjoying the city during abnormally warm weather.” The attempted bombing was mentioned only afterward. The framing read less like a crime report and more like the opening line

The rumor that's circulating in Middle Eastern political networks claims that Iranian cleric Hojtaba Khamenei may be in poor condition while he struggles to command respect among key figures inside the regime. Mojtaba Khamenei remains widely viewed as the center of Iran's leadership after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who served as Iranian supreme leader for over 30 years and whose death created a sudden leadership vacuum. Iranian state media later confirmed the killing and declared a 40-day national mourning period as the regime moved quickly to maintain control and reassure supporters that the government remained intact. The Iranian supreme leader has held ultimate authority over Iran's military forces,

Not only is the Democrat party anti-American, it is shot through with an anti-democratic streak that is ever more apparent. Like every tyranny throughout history -- communist, Marxist, socialist -- citizens are disarmed. After every gun crime here, as with the murder of a professor at Old Dominion University the other day, the Muslim murderer who was previously charged with a terrorism crime and went to prison, is not blamed; his acquisition of the gun is. If the Iranian citizenry were armed, they would not be sitting ducks today. The Democrat party is fervently in favor of the gender mutilation of persons suffering with gender dysphoria,

Colorado used to be a pretty good place. When I moved there in 1989, it was still mostly South Wyoming. Oh, there was downtown Denver, where the urban Dems clustered, and there was the People's Republic of Boulder, where they kept all the hippies. But most of Colorado was still pretty sensible. Now, though? It's East California, and nothing makes that case more clearly than the Jefferson County, Colorado board of education defying Title IX by allowing boys in girls' locker rooms, overnight accommodations, and on their sports teams. Today’s parents and the kids themselves are skeptical college is worth the cost, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The national online poll, taken Feb. 24 to Feb. 27, asked 1,456 adults: “Do you believe a four-year college degree is worth the cost for most Americans today, or not?” The answer indicates serious erosion in how Americans view the value of higher education. Overall, of those responding, 59% selected “Not worth the cost,” while just

Despite that the sheriffs have been elected by Republicans and appointed to the State Immigration Enforcement Council by Republican Gov. Ron De Santis and Republicans, the council members are collaborating on a letter to President Trump calling for a more liberal focus on immigration policy. The call to leniency has already spurred one state official to speak out against the council.

Good question. And a surprising source for it, to boot. Did Paramount buy Comcast when we weren't looking? Poll after poll has shown for years that the vast majority of American voters want requirements to show identification at the polling booth. That support crosses every major demographic, including political affiliations, and has for decades. As requirements for identification apply to more and more activities in public life, including for New York City's snow shoveling in Zohran Mamdani's socialist gulag, the arguments against voter-ID requirements become more and more inexplicable. Even NBC News has begun to wonder whether the only organized opposition to it is on Capitol Hill:

ALBANY — Gov. Kathy Hochul is begging wealthy New Yorkers who fled the city to come back and continue padding the Empire State’s lavish public handouts. Hochul made the case against caving to Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s demands that she hike income taxes — by saying she not only wants fat cats to stay in the city, but also clawing at those who have moved to states with better business climates like Florida. “Maybe the first step should be go down to Palm Beach and see who we can bring back home because our tax base has been eroded,” the Democratic governor said at a forum hosted by Politico last week.
