JB Pritzker Promises to Weaponize Government

There are few things worse than someone who has had everything handed to them who acts like they’ve somehow earned all of it. We say these people “were born on 3rd base and act like they hit a triple.” I don’t have a problem with inherited wealth, but that, coupled with a sense of entitlement, is too much form. I call it the “Lucky Sperm Syndrome” – the people whose greatest, and often only, accomplishment in life is that they were the sperm that cracked the egg. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker comes to mind.

If someone says they're going to harm you, you'd better believe them. Pritzker's in the same league as Susanne Rice who said pretty much the same thing about going after conservative individuals, groups or companies - their enemies - a week or two ago. The modern day attack by democrats on their enemies is to destroy them criminally, financially, reputationally or all of the above through the courts and the media. And they've got quite the record already of what they'll do if they gain control (under Obama with Eric Holder and Biden with Merrick Garland). No need for firing squads or reeducation camps.

Running on going after and punisging those you disagree with. That worked for New York Attorney General Letitia James in her crusade against Donald Trump. It will become an effective part of the Democrat playbook. Threatening to go after your opponents and anyone you disagreed with from a previous administration to remove any future opposition. Who is the real threat to democracy?

In August of 2000, I moved to Colorado. At that time, the Governor, the state legislature, both US Senators, and the majority of US House seats were Republican. By 2006, all that had flipped, with the possible exception of the US House seats. This was mostly caused by hoards of California liberals who moved to Colorado and brought their voting habits with them.

Funny analogy but true. We have many like him in government and business and they all act like they deserve to be worshiped because they were either born with, married into or stole their fortunes. Pelosi, Oprah, Jon Carry and Tereza, Mamdani, Newsom, Kamala are the living specimens but we could go way back to the Vanderbilts, the Kennedys, etc. None of them are especially talented or honest. I don't include the tech billionaires who made their fortunes by making the right move at the right time but aren't especially gifted, Bill Gates being the notable example.

Interesting that Pritzkie isn't serving a 20-year+ sentence in the joint yet. There are three kinds of Illinois governors. Those who were released from jail, those who are in jail, and those who are about to go to jail. Pritzkie falls into the third category. Corruption in the state governor's office runs rampant.

Certainly I work in an Australian university where the extent of higher-ups pushing this notion does indeed qualify as unrelenting, even matching totalitarian state levels of propaganda. But even outside the hallowed halls of impartial, politically balanced academia (did I write that with a straight face?) the mantra or cliché that diversity somehow delivers a stronger balance sheet or a more cohesive society or just better outcomes is pervasive in today’s democracies that have committed themselves to multiculturalism and to the various neo-Marxist versions of feminism. Since 2019, nearly two dozen states — most of them blue states — have vowed to transition their grids to run without generators powered by fossil fuels within the next 24 years. While Democrats have often been vocal supporters of these efforts, President Donald Trump’s energy policies have produced a direct challenge to net-zero plans. Outside the political sphere, independent assessments find the nation’s grid is becoming increasingly fragile, primarily a direct result of an overreliance on weather-dependent renewables. This has led to a rapid shift in the conversation on energy in America.

Iran intensified its attacks on its Gulf Arab neighbors’ energy infrastructure Thursday, setting Qatari liquified natural gas facilities ablaze as it hit back following an Israeli attack on its main natural gas field, a major escalation in the Mideast war that has sent global fuel prices soaring. A ship burned off the coast of the United Arab Emirates and another was damaged off of Qatar, underscoring the ever-present danger facing vessels due to Iran’s stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar, a key source of natural gas for world markets, said firefighters had put out a blaze at a major LNG facility after it had been hit by Iranian missile attacks.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn released a draft framework for a national rulebook on artificial intelligence to codify President Donald Trump’s executive order. The Republican senator from Tennessee previously told The Daily Signal that Trump asked her to introduce the framework to establish a national standard on artificial intelligence. When asked by The Daily Signal if the White House supported the framework, a White House spokesperson said, “We continue to have productive conversations with legislators as we work with Congress towards delivering national AI legislation, as directed in the president’s Executive Order.”

Less than 24 hours after a heated online exchange between the investigative reporter and Walz, the already-embattled governor stunned observers by announcing he was not running for reelection. "I ENDED TIM WALZ," Shirley wrote on X in early January.

If our forces can’t restore free navigation, it will represent a significant failure of a traditional pillar of U.S. power. The reason why we have the Fifth Fleet, one of the most awesome naval forces ever assembled in the history of mankind, is to protect the sea lanes in the Middle East. That the Strait of Hormuz is now effectively closed is not just a blow to the global economy and a key point of leverage for the Iranian regime; it is an assault against one of the foundations of American power. Guarding the safe passage of commerce has been a core Anglo-American commitment for a couple of centuries,

The Trump administration will continue to engage with Russia in an effort to achieve peace in Ukraine, as this is driven by a longer-term strategic goal: countering China, according to Politico. Trump’s team believes that encouraging Russia to end the war against Ukraine, its economic recovery, and the influx of American investment—all of this could ultimately shift the global order away from China. This risky move worries the Ukrainian side, but it underscores the administration’s conviction that the greatest geopolitical threat to the US and the West is China, not Putin’s Russia.

Today’s parents and the kids themselves are skeptical college is worth the cost, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The national online poll, taken Feb. 24 to Feb. 27, asked 1,456 adults: “Do you believe a four-year college degree is worth the cost for most Americans today, or not?” The answer indicates serious erosion in how Americans view the value of higher education.
