Will Never-Trumpers Ever Admit They Were Wrong?

Virulent Trump-hater George Will penned a column in the wake of the Iran attacks titled “At last, the credibility of U.S. deterrence is being restored.” Do you think Will turned a corner about President Donald Trump? Hardly. If you want to know who restored the credibility of U.S. deterrence, Will isn’t saying. You’d think it fell out of the sky. The most he will concede is that “Donald Trump’s administration has chosen not to wager U.S. safety on Iran’s abandoning its multi-decade pursuit of nuclear weapons, or on Iran’s acquiring them but not really meaning ‘Death to America.’” Wait. Trump’s “administration” made that choice?

Allowing for the theoretical possibility that somefay one or more might, we must generally conclude that within the bounds of average ego and identity, the plain and simple answer is, "No".

Sorry editorial board, but there is no need to hang on to your original anti Trump stances. To be specific, Trump's tariffs are not "chaotic and economically damaging". Take off your blinders and acknowledge that they are leading to discussions of terminating national income taxes. "Economically damaging" my foot.

I was right there with the authors of the article up to the end, when they referenced Trump's tarriffs as "economically damaging". They don't provide a single fact showing economic damage, I really don't see any myself. Guess they had to include something so they weren't out on a limb looking like Trump cheerleaders...

You may question Trump's policies, they tend to be counter to standard Conservative Inc's thinking. Perhaps that is why Conservatism has been a LOSER and Trump has seen far more success. Also, there is the fact that Trump is voraciously despised by the Left BECAUSE of his successes while the Left tolerated and was amused by Conservatives in general because they were so often outmaneuvered and ineffective. This, of course, was highly embarrassing and painful to Conservatives Inc. who consider themselves very erudite and superior. Their egos have taken a bruising and Trump tends to ignore or minimize them which adds to their angst. Further, they seem to be stuck in their behavior, which is not great for people who would claim to manage a dynamic world. Trump, on the other hand, bobs and weaves like a top prizefighter. As the situation changes, he adapts. When something fails, he does something else; all the time, keeping his eyes on the GOAL and not mired in methods that don't work. In the end, people remember what you got done, not so much how you accomplished it. Conservative Inc. wants people to give them credit for the methods they espouse, even when they often fail. Trump gets the job DONE, one way or another! In the end, Trump will be remembered as a great, if at times controversial, President. The Never Trumpers will be a footnote in history.

Speaking of devout NeverTrumpers - - I've always wanted to ask Willy Kristol what happened to the huge chunk of his nose that was taken off when he got his nose job. Some say he uses it as a doorstop - - others say he plays hockey with it - - others say he eats his oatmeal out of it. C'mon, Willy - - tell us what really happened to your nose chunk!

I wish Trump could get a better public relations campaign going. The media is diabolically opposed to his every single words that comes from his mouth, and there aren’t enough conservative voices that have the ear of the normies. It makes me nervous to think any economic growth will be stifled by a win by the dems in the midterms.

Who cares. Those people seem to be hangers-on, waiting to get jobs with the new administrations. Trump seems so far above these types, including the failing Democrat party.

The cranky Vermont senator who believes billionaires should be abolished wants to legislate them out of existence. It’s too bad that he doesn’t understand that one billionaire is more valuable than a thousand Bernie Sanders. “Billionaires should not exist,” Sanders, who identifies as a socialist, raged in 2019 during his previous attempt to hit the wealthy with an additional tax that punished them for their success. That effort, the New York Times reported, was “particularly aggressive in how it would erode the fortunes of billionaires” and “would cut in half the wealth of the typical billionaire after 15 years,

Policymakers often argue over whether capitalism works and how aggressively it should be restrained. But they rarely ask the more pertinent question: where, exactly, does large-scale laissez-faire capitalism even exist? The uncomfortable answer is that in the 21st century, it barely does. Across sectors, federal policy does not merely regulate at the margins; it often coordinates at scale, sometimes through forms of rulemaking that do not appear in the traditional Federal Register. Prices, payment flows, entry conditions, risk allocation, technology adoption, and even product, service, and

On Feb. 24, President Donald Trump gave what many, including some critics, thought was one of the most effective presidential State of the Union speeches of recent decades, if not ever. But it barely moved the needle when it comes to his presidential favorability ratings, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. In the March online national I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from Feb. 24 to Feb. 27 by 1,456 adults, Trump showed only slight improvement on the lead presidential leadership question: “Overall, is your opinion of Donald Trump generally favorable, generally unfavorable, or are you not familiar enough to say one way or the

The federal income tax is abusive. It is inconsistent with liberty. It has, as Chief Justice John Marshall noted, the power to destroy. There is nothing positive to be said about it. It cannot even raise government revenues efficiently. As we said a year ago, of all the good Donald Trump could do in his second term, eliminating the federal income tax would be one of his greatest achievements. It’s clearly one of his goals. “As time goes by, I believe the tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax,” Trump said during his State of the Union address.

Saturday, February 28th, 2026, will be commemorated as the date the ghosts of Jimmy Carter’s debacle at Desert One in 1980 – the worst military humiliation in U.S. history – were finally exorcised. It took more than four and a half decades for a President of the United States to be willing to conduct the unfinished business of overthrowing the Ayatollah Khomeini’s Islamist regime in Iran, which began its long reign of terror by seizing 53 American hostages and keeping them in harsh conditions for 444 days from 1979 to 1981. The feckless President Carter, who had already suffered the Soviet Union’s

In the span of a few days, the public has witnessed two events that have made it abundantly clear just where Democrats stand, or rather, sit, these days. Anyone who is remotely reasonable should consider looking for another political party to join. The first came during the State of the Union when President Donald Trump invited lawmakers “to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.” Democrats sat on their hands.

Politicians love nothing more than spending, as our dangerously surging fiscal deficits clearly show. But rather than cut unnecessary spending, which would be the most logical thing, Democrats continue to push the dumbest non-solution for our soaring spending, deficits, and debt: tax the rich. When asked why he robbed banks, Depression-era bank-robber Willie Sutton reportedly responded: “Because that’s where the money is.” Funny, but elected Democrats in blue states today deploy the same logic in their growing calls to “tax the rich.” As CNBC’s Robert Frank recently noted,

“This is discrimination, pure and simple, the soft bigotry of low expectations. We should end it.” George W. Bush did a public service when he coined that phrase in 1999 as a way to point out the racist roots of claims that minorities can’t be expected to achieve what “privileged’ whites do. But he was wrong to call this form of bigotry “soft.” There is nothing soft about it. Saying that blacks can’t be expected to excel in school or get an ID to vote is as bad as burning a cross on their lawn. And yet, while Republicans are routinely described as racist, it’s Democrats who lay claim to this

They’re not as obnoxious as the “In This House We Believe” yard signs, nor as common, but if in the right neighborhood, it’s not hard to find “Climate Action Now” signs. The virtue signalers want the universe to know they are concerned that not enough is being done to keep Earth from baking. So who wants to tell them? We do. The volume of laws, rules, and regulations that have been passed and issued across the world to take “climate action” is probably innumerable. But we do have a good fix on how much has been spent. That’s a good idea, and Trump should tout a series of amazing economic and financial accomplishments. Stock market at near all-time highs, inflation cut in half, real incomes up, middle class savings from the big beautiful tax bill, gas prices down, and energy production up. Private employment is up, while government employment is down. Retirement savings for American families (including 401k plans) are up almost $22,000 on average, more than reversing the losses from the Biden years when runaway inflation

Does being an European "ally" of America even mean anything anymore? That's a valid question after several NATO nations not only initially denied the use of their military bases during Operation Epic Fury, the ongoing attack on Iran, but also offered tacit support for the Islamic regime. Perhaps the most public betrayal came from Spain, whose left-wing prime minister claimed the United States was violating "international law."Given Spain's history over the last century or so, it wasn't exactly surprising that they'd take the side of Islamic fascists over the country that pays for their defense.
