Two Defining Moments For Trump, And Democrats

In the span of a few days, the public has witnessed two events that have made it abundantly clear just where Democrats stand, or rather, sit, these days. Anyone who is remotely reasonable should consider looking for another political party to join. The first came during the State of the Union when President Donald Trump invited lawmakers “to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.” Democrats sat on their hands.

Every Republican appearing on any news or talk show should constantly tell the audience that the Democrats are upset because one of their fellow ideological travelers, another despot/regime who oppresses his/her people, has been eliminated. They can try and hide behind the War Powers Act all they want, but they, once again, show their true colors and those colors are not the Red, White and Blue.

An excellent summary of the state of the Democrap party today! Well said, #1. I think I’ll start carrying a couple of white feathers with me, for when I end up talking to one of them. I’ll hand them a feather, and not say another word. They won’t understand what that means, because they’re unaware of history - which makes it that much more satisfying.

During the Civil War Democrats in the North notoriously sympathized with their insurrectionist brothers in the South and were known as "Copperheads." Given their kneejerk support for America's enemies in Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and elsewhere they are "Copperheads" once again.

Can We See The End Of The Income Tax From Here? 15 replies

The federal income tax is abusive. It is inconsistent with liberty. It has, as Chief Justice John Marshall noted, the power to destroy. There is nothing positive to be said about it. It cannot even raise government revenues efficiently. As we said a year ago, of all the good Donald Trump could do in his second term, eliminating the federal income tax would be one of his greatest achievements. It’s clearly one of his goals. “As time goes by, I believe the tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax,” Trump said during his State of the Union address.

Saturday, February 28th, 2026, will be commemorated as the date the ghosts of Jimmy Carter’s debacle at Desert One in 1980 – the worst military humiliation in U.S. history – were finally exorcised. It took more than four and a half decades for a President of the United States to be willing to conduct the unfinished business of overthrowing the Ayatollah Khomeini’s Islamist regime in Iran, which began its long reign of terror by seizing 53 American hostages and keeping them in harsh conditions for 444 days from 1979 to 1981. The feckless President Carter, who had already suffered the Soviet Union’s

Politicians love nothing more than spending, as our dangerously surging fiscal deficits clearly show. But rather than cut unnecessary spending, which would be the most logical thing, Democrats continue to push the dumbest non-solution for our soaring spending, deficits, and debt: tax the rich. When asked why he robbed banks, Depression-era bank-robber Willie Sutton reportedly responded: “Because that’s where the money is.” Funny, but elected Democrats in blue states today deploy the same logic in their growing calls to “tax the rich.” As CNBC’s Robert Frank recently noted,

“This is discrimination, pure and simple, the soft bigotry of low expectations. We should end it.” George W. Bush did a public service when he coined that phrase in 1999 as a way to point out the racist roots of claims that minorities can’t be expected to achieve what “privileged’ whites do. But he was wrong to call this form of bigotry “soft.” There is nothing soft about it. Saying that blacks can’t be expected to excel in school or get an ID to vote is as bad as burning a cross on their lawn. And yet, while Republicans are routinely described as racist, it’s Democrats who lay claim to this

Who knew that a State of the Union address would feature more medal ceremonies than the Winter Olympics? OK, it just seemed that way. But the made-for-TV award-aganza – incredibly including, twice, America’s top military honor – was just one feature of perhaps the most spectacular event of its kind ever. “Spectacular” in the word’s original sense, “of the nature of a spectacle or show.” As in: The bombastic beginning: “Our nation is back. Bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before.” The theatrical call-in of the Olympic champion U.S. men’s hockey team, followed

They’re not as obnoxious as the “In This House We Believe” yard signs, nor as common, but if in the right neighborhood, it’s not hard to find “Climate Action Now” signs. The virtue signalers want the universe to know they are concerned that not enough is being done to keep Earth from baking. So who wants to tell them? We do. The volume of laws, rules, and regulations that have been passed and issued across the world to take “climate action” is probably innumerable. But we do have a good fix on how much has been spent. According to Danish researcher and author Bjørn Lomborg,

Polls show that more than eight of 10 voters want President Trump to focus on the economy in his State of the Union speech. That’s a good idea, and Trump should tout a series of amazing economic and financial accomplishments. Stock market at near all-time highs, inflation cut in half, real incomes up, middle class savings from the big beautiful tax bill, gas prices down, and energy production up. Private employment is up, while government employment is down. Retirement savings for American families (including 401k plans) are up almost $22,000 on average, more than reversing the losses from the Biden years when runaway inflation

As NASA eases its Artemis II rocket back to the hangar for repairs this week – the second launchpad delay this month – it raises the question of whether this government agency should be in the manned spaceflight business at all anymore. To say that the Artemis program – which has so far cost taxpayers more than $93 billion – has been plagued with problems is an understatement. It has been a case study in bureaucratic bumbling, one made more obvious when compared with the rapid advances achieved by private space companies such as SpaceX. Here’s a brief timeline.

This is a truly Bizarro World story out of deep blue Prince George’s County, Md. Back in December, some 100 families living in the Marylander Condominiums complex were told they would have to leave their homes because the building was deemed “unfit for human habitation.” Last week, a Maryland judge signed a final eviction notice, which could leave many of these families homeless. Why? Turns out that the complex has been besieged for years by a nearby homeless encampment that is “a haven for gangs, drugs, and prostitutes”

The U.S. has arrested Venezuela’s former leader and appears on the verge of toppling Cuba’s regime through stiff economic sanctions. Are Americans tired of this? No. In fact, a majority want the U.S. to either maintain its level of activity in the Western Hemisphere or to expand it, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The national online poll, taken from Jan. 27 to Jan. 29 by 1,384 adult voters, has a margin of error of +/-2.9 percentage points. The poll’s main message: If Americans are tired of President Donald Trump’s activist foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere — jokingly called by some the “Donroe Doctrine”

A Democrat running for office in California has reportedly called to defund the Pentagon, but her husband works for a company that built missiles the United States is believed to have used during the recent strikes on the Islamic regime in Iran. Fatima Iqbal-Zubair is a candidate for the state’s 65th Assembly District and her husband, Fazlul Zubair, is an engineer manager for Raytheon, the New York Post reported Monday. The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation targeting Iran on Saturday in part to ensure the regime will never have the capability to threaten the world with nuclear weapons, according to Breitbart News.

Saying that this decision sends "a powerful message that the Constitution still protects families, and California schools are not above the law," parents and teachers in California have won a "monumental" ruling at the U.S. Supreme Court, halting California schools from secretly transitioning children and hiding the information from parents until the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issues its final decision. The U.S. Supreme Court threw out a 9th Circuit Court ruling that allowed government-run schools to keep secretly transitioning children while California parents pursued a lawsuit against the state. The 6-3 ruling means that the parents will be able to continue exercising their fundamental civil rights "under the Free Exercise

Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, was tapped to assume control of the country by Iran’s Assembly of Experts, a powerful body of clerics, Iranian International said Tuesday. The report was widely being picked up by Israeli media but had not been confirmed by Iranian state mouthpieces. Mojtaba was at first believed to have been among the 40 top Iranian aides killed during the Saturday strike that took out Iran’s highest-ranking cleric.

Umar Dzhabrailov, a Chechen businessman and former senator, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to his head at about 3 a.m., Russian outlet Kommersant reported, citing police sources who called it a suspected suicide. Police discovered a Luger pistol lying by the 67-year-old’s body. But Dzhabrailov — who had tried to take his life in 2020 — didn’t leave a suicide note, the sources said.

The outpouring of joy on the streets of LA is impossible to ignore. Thousands of Iranian-Americans lined Wilshire Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes that, they hope, will bring down the Iranian regime. On Westwood Boulevard, in the heart of “Tehrangeles,” there were raucous cheers inside Persian restaurants. Flags hung everywhere — the sterile tulip of the Islamic Republic replaced by the lion-and-sun of the previous era. The Iranian people, at home and abroad, believe that freedom is at hand, and that President Donald Trump is bringing the redemption for which they have waited for decades.

When you’ve constructed a cartoon version of the world in your mind, what do you do when reality proves it wrong? If you’re the leftist establishment, you certainly don’t rethink your assumptions. Late Friday, New York Times columnist David French snarkily referred to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth as a “walking MAGA caricature” on X. Four hours later, Hegseth’s troops were pounding Iran in an intricate series of strikes that left its evil regime reeling. The response to French — who has not withdrawn his sneer — was unsympathetic. My favorite: “Let’s have a contest … you and Pete show up at Fort Bragg, see who the troops respect more.”
