According to British author David Goodhart, who coined the terms “Somewheres” and “Anywheres,” the Somewheres are people who are more locally rooted and conservative as opposed to the Anywheres, wealthy, educated members of the establishment who can afford to live anywhere they wish, criss-cross the globe on private jets, and scoop up property wherever they happen to touch down. Of course, Goodhart’s binary distinction would need to be supplemented by a third factor in the interests of demographic accuracy, which we might call the “Unawares,”

Before this term of Liberal Party rule ends, there may be carnage in Canada between Albertan separatists and Royal Canadian Forces of some stripe (RCMP or regular military). I would thus call it Carnageia in memory of Canada's Nero who fiddled while his country burned. Glad I get to watch that excrement show from far away...

#3: I prefer Canaduh (could be Kanaduh, I guess). I'm particularly disgusted by baby boomers (my generation) who voted for Carney and their perceived economic interests (mostly opposing Orange Man Bad) rather than the real economic realities of their kids and grandkids. Carney will keep the economy sclerotic and maintain elevated immigration levels, which the liberal boomers expect means the housing shortage will persist, thus protecting the boomers' inflated property prices. Their kids, who will never be able to afford a home in Canada under the present circumstances, will be decamping from Canada to the US or other countries to build their lives... and I wouldn't blame them if they didn't give their parents much of a thought after waving goodbye to Canada for the last time.

Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. today issued a policy decision regarding the status of individuals who have passed away while on the permanently ineligible list. This issue has never been formally addressed by Major League Baseball, but an application filed by the family of Pete Rose has made it incumbent upon the Office of the Commissioner to reach a policy decision on this unprecedented issue in the modern era as Mr. Rose is the first person banned after the tenure of Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis to die while still on the ineligible list.

Who didn’t? I was on Australian television during the 2020 election campaign, and casually mentioned that Joe Biden was senile. Rita Panahi was startled and said, “Wait, what? Joe Biden is senile?” I explained that this was why he was running a basement campaign rather than putting on campaign events like Donald Trump did. It seemed obvious at the time. Biden’s debility became increasingly clear over the four years of his term. The videos of Biden being unable to speak without a teleprompter, being unable to read a teleprompter, falling down, wandering about, speaking inappropriately in various ways, were legion.

An evil animal abuser who tortured animals including bunnies to death on YouTube has launched a GoFundMe to try and stop Donald Trump deporting her. Anigar Monsee, 28, was convicted of felony animal cruelty on Wednesday and faces seven years behind bars - but is now playing the victim on her fundraiser. 'Hi, my name is Anigar Monsee, and I’m a single mother doing my best to raise my daughter on my own,' wrote Monsee, a Liberian national who now lives in Delaware. 'Right now, I’m facing the most terrifying moment of my life—I may be sent to jail or even deported over something I never imagined

Having ignored Joe Biden’s cognitive meltdown the last four years, Democrats and their media handmaidens are claiming that Donald Trump is “senile, nuts, or something worse,” as the Daily Beast put it. “Is Trump losing his mind à la Biden,” asked the Hill last week, describing the president as lost in “a whirlwind of apparent senility.” New Republic earlier this month reported unspecified “concerns over Trump’s cognitive decline since he first started to deliver weaving, nonsensical stump speeches on the presidential campaign trail.” When a barely lucid Biden stumbled around on stage and wandered off mid-sentence, they called it a “childhood stutter” and accused this newspaper of peddling “cheap fakes” and misinformation.

If you haven't heard, the Democrat Party is in disarray. If you don't believe me, check any of your favorite conservative websites. But David Hogg, DNC Vice Chair and progressive visionary, may have crafted the perfect plan to bring young men back to the party. Lure them with promises of fun and sex. Appearing on "Real Time With Bill Maher," Hogg opined: What I think happened last election is younger men — they would rather vote for somebody who they don’t completely agree with, they don’t feel judged by, than somebody who they do agree with, that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly… Young people

Speech and self-defense are dead letters

Just yesterday, I wrote about Britain’s decline as its embrace of unlimited immigration from Third World (mostly Muslim) countries and its commitment to the insane Net Zero carbon dioxide metric are leading it toward a Muslim-controlled polity and a pre-modern energy infrastructure. Today, I awoke to two more reports about Britain’s decline, this time related to speech and self-defense. These reports matter because the leftist British approach to governance is what the Democrat party desperately wants to see in America. The first story comes from The Telegraph, Britain’s (slightly) right-of-center outlet, and its title says it all:

The jockey who rode Sovereignty to victory at the Kentucky Derby last week has been fined over $60,000 for striking the horse with his riding crop too many times during the race, according to the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority. Junior Alvarado was found to have struck the horse with his riding crop “more than the permitted amount” during last week’s race, violating the authority’s rules, it said in a statement Saturday. A penalty was imposed against Alvarado on Friday for committing the Class 3 violation and he was hit with a fine equating to 10% of his $310,000 winnings, the statement said. The fine was then doubled “pursuant to an

The province of Alberta has a legitimate grievance with the ROC (Rest of Canada). According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, since the inception of Canada’s equalization program in 1957, which sees the wealthier provinces subsidizing their less fortunate counterparts, Alberta has made a net contribution of $67 billion, $2.9 billion alone in 2021 — which in turn represents only a portion of the province’s immense financial contribution to federal coffers and the governments and residents of other provinces. The Fraser Institute notes that the equalization drain represents “just a small part of the province’s outsized contribution to confederation in recent years.” It calculates that “the gap between Albertans’

Former President Joe Biden appeared on “The View” earlier this week, and Democrats are about as happy as a housefly in a spider web. The former president sat down with the ladies on “The View” and discussed his presidency while slamming President Donald Trump, saying he had “the worst 100 days any president’s ever had.” Biden laughably suggested that he was in full control of his faculties while serving as president. However, he did take a modicum of responsibility for the Democrats’ humiliating losses in 2024, saying, “I was in charge, and he won.” There were some rather awkward moments during his appearance in which his wife, former first lady Jill Biden,

On Monday, the credentials committee of the DNC voted 13-2 to void the election results from February in which Hogg and Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (D) were elected to serve as co-vice chairmen of the DNC, according to the New York Times. The vote comes as Hogg is reportedly planning to “spend up to $20 million” to fund “primary campaigns against incumbent Democrats.” Per the outlet, the decision from the credentials committee came after “three hours of internal debate and one tie vote,”

No House Republicans have signaled support for the measure, and leaders could potentially keep lawmakers from voting on impeachment at all. In his latest proposal to end the war in Ukraine, former President Donald Trump reportedly offered Vladimir Putin a dangerous concession: de jure recognition of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. The proposal appears to accept the idea that Crimea was once part of Russia and that returning it to Russia would restore historical justice. This logic is not just politically reckless, it is historically and legally indefensible. It echoes the imperial narrative Putin himself has long advanced: that modern Russia is the rightful heir to the entire Russian Empire[snip] Crimea was never part of Russia, and the Russian Federation is not a successor to the entire Russian Empire.

In the weeks surrounding President Trump’s inauguration, America’s propaganda press relentlessly cited leftist claims that 15,000 trans-identifying individuals would be booted from the military under the new commander-in-chief. The insinuation, of course, was that such a move would harm “military readiness” and the country’s national security. In a statement to The Federalist, a Defense Department official said that, as of February, there are “approximately 4,200 Active-duty, Guard and Reserve service members currently serving diagnosed with gender dysphoria” throughout the armed forces. The total is roughly the same that was announced by the agency in February.
