Decision on ineligibility status after

Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. today issued a policy decision regarding the status of individuals who have passed away while on the permanently ineligible list. This issue has never been formally addressed by Major League Baseball, but an application filed by the family of Pete Rose has made it incumbent upon the Office of the Commissioner to reach a policy decision on this unprecedented issue in the modern era as Mr. Rose is the first person banned after the tenure of Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis to die while still on the ineligible list.

Comments:

Absolutely, Pete Rose belongs in the HoF.

It's about time some common sense was used to realize a player should not be banned for the lifetime of baseball which was what they were essentially doing prior to this decision. There are only two players who will likely be elected to the HOF - Joe Jackson and Pete Rose - from this decision. They've already been tarred and feathered, they will have disclaimers in their display too. But the game was dirty in the early 1900's and it's questionable to what degree Jackson "threw" the series. Rose may have bet on baseball but not as a player, which is how he would be elected. What he did while a manager is separate from him as a player. They should exclude his managerial statistics since he would not be elected as a manager.

My guess would be that hundreds of professional athletes bet on sports today. It's their life and games are full of friendly rivalries. Only if you bet against your own team does it suggest a problem.

9 Times Jake Tapper Dismissed Biden’s
Decline, Claimed He’s ‘Sharp Mentally’

After spending years helping cover up Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline, Russia collusion hoaxer and left-wing propagandist Jake Tapper is now trying to gaslight Americans into believing he had nothing to do with the media-wide scandal. The CNN host spent Tuesday hawking his upcoming book on X, which promises readers an inside look at the Biden administration’s efforts to hide the Delaware Democrat’s “health issues” — efforts the media were more than happy to participate in. Despite his best attempts to feign innocence on the subject, Tapper was one of the main leftist hacks leading the media campaign to try and convince Americans that the doddering Biden on their television screens

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Abraham Lincoln spoke those words in 1858, not as a metaphor, but as a warning. The country was tearing along seams of ideology and morality. Lincoln saw it. He feared America could not endure as both a slave state and a free one. He was right. But even then, Lincoln hoped the Union would stand. He didn’t root for secession or sabotage. He didn’t pray for Southern crops to fail or cities to burn to make his case. He confronted the moment of agony and clarity, defending a flawed system while preparing to save it from itself. That’s what leadership once looked like. Now, fast-forward 165 years.

Who didn’t? I was on Australian television during the 2020 election campaign, and casually mentioned that Joe Biden was senile. Rita Panahi was startled and said, “Wait, what? Joe Biden is senile?” I explained that this was why he was running a basement campaign rather than putting on campaign events like Donald Trump did. It seemed obvious at the time. Biden’s debility became increasingly clear over the four years of his term. The videos of Biden being unable to speak without a teleprompter, being unable to read a teleprompter, falling down, wandering about, speaking inappropriately in various ways, were legion.

Having ignored Joe Biden’s cognitive meltdown the last four years, Democrats and their media handmaidens are claiming that Donald Trump is “senile, nuts, or something worse,” as the Daily Beast put it. “Is Trump losing his mind à la Biden,” asked the Hill last week, describing the president as lost in “a whirlwind of apparent senility.” New Republic earlier this month reported unspecified “concerns over Trump’s cognitive decline since he first started to deliver weaving, nonsensical stump speeches on the presidential campaign trail.” When a barely lucid Biden stumbled around on stage and wandered off mid-sentence, they called it a “childhood stutter” and accused this newspaper of peddling “cheap fakes” and misinformation.

If you haven't heard, the Democrat Party is in disarray. If you don't believe me, check any of your favorite conservative websites. But David Hogg, DNC Vice Chair and progressive visionary, may have crafted the perfect plan to bring young men back to the party. Lure them with promises of fun and sex. Appearing on "Real Time With Bill Maher," Hogg opined: What I think happened last election is younger men — they would rather vote for somebody who they don’t completely agree with, they don’t feel judged by, than somebody who they do agree with, that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly… Young people

According to British author David Goodhart, who coined the terms “Somewheres” and “Anywheres,” the Somewheres are people who are more locally rooted and conservative as opposed to the Anywheres, wealthy, educated members of the establishment who can afford to live anywhere they wish, criss-cross the globe on private jets, and scoop up property wherever they happen to touch down. Of course, Goodhart’s binary distinction would need to be supplemented by a third factor in the interests of demographic accuracy, which we might call the “Unawares,”

Just yesterday, I wrote about Britain’s decline as its embrace of unlimited immigration from Third World (mostly Muslim) countries and its commitment to the insane Net Zero carbon dioxide metric are leading it toward a Muslim-controlled polity and a pre-modern energy infrastructure. Today, I awoke to two more reports about Britain’s decline, this time related to speech and self-defense. These reports matter because the leftist British approach to governance is what the Democrat party desperately wants to see in America. The first story comes from The Telegraph, Britain’s (slightly) right-of-center outlet, and its title says it all:

The jockey who rode Sovereignty to victory at the Kentucky Derby last week has been fined over $60,000 for striking the horse with his riding crop too many times during the race, according to the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority. Junior Alvarado was found to have struck the horse with his riding crop “more than the permitted amount” during last week’s race, violating the authority’s rules, it said in a statement Saturday. A penalty was imposed against Alvarado on Friday for committing the Class 3 violation and he was hit with a fine equating to 10% of his $310,000 winnings, the statement said. The fine was then doubled “pursuant to an

Democrat Rep. Shiri Thanedar (MI) has introduced a resolution to force a chamber-wide impeachment vote against President Trump. Thanedar introduced “his impeachment resolution as privileged on Tuesday afternoon, meaning leaders have two days of the House in session to take up the legislation,” per Fox News. No House Republicans have signaled support for the measure, and leaders could potentially keep lawmakers from voting on impeachment at all. When deeming his resolution privileged, Thanedar said the president “has unlawfully conducted himself, bringing shame to the presidency and the people of the United States,” while calling the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) a “flagrantly unconstitutional creation.” Democrats have not backed the impeachment resolution,

Critics have questioned whether the feature can wear down the car’s battery or engine more quickly.

In his latest proposal to end the war in Ukraine, former President Donald Trump reportedly offered Vladimir Putin a dangerous concession: de jure recognition of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. The proposal appears to accept the idea that Crimea was once part of Russia and that returning it to Russia would restore historical justice. The days of rogue district court judges hijacking executive authority may finally be numbered. On Thursday, the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in a consolidated case, Trump v. CASA, which challenges lower court rulings that blocked President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. Despite the constitutional authority granted to the executive branch on immigration matters, three district judges issued sweeping nationwide injunctions halting the order. Now, the highest court may have the chance to rein in judicial overreach and restore balance between the branches of government. Since President Trump began his second term,
