America's Future Depends on Trump's Promise

A leftist-dominated educational establishment and its media enablers fear that Donald Trump will make good on his vow to defund educational institutions that embrace DEI and tolerate antisemitism. That is why Trump's scorched-earth approach is so necessary, even as it is being denounced by the same people who are responsible for creating or perpetuating the current mess as too extreme or even needed at all. More to the point, it will mean that policing antisemitism on campus will be shifted away from the ineffectual Title VI complaints overseen federal education bureaucrats,

Too many people in power trying to tell me who I have to hate or like and making laws to that end. Give it a rest. As soon as you push someone on me I start looking at why they cant make friends on their own merits. The answer is usually that they have no merits.

Seeing so many of our youthful studious college leftists demonstrating for Palestinian terrorists is frightening to me. Not because I physically fear them but because they are so easily led by lies being taught them by what are alleged to be their intelligent teachers, but are in reality leftists .

If they are serious about reducing the debt and cutting the federal budget, cutting funding to almost every university is a good first step.

There are lots of mostly bad things that President Joe Biden can justly take credit for, but the fall of Syria is not one of them. Biden provided Iran with sanctions relief and bailed out Hezbollah just as it was on the verge of defeat. He's trying to take credit for other people's victories while pretending that this was a desired outcome, rather than Turkey taking the initiative and exploiting a weakened Hezbollah. It was a pleasant surprise to find that there are more, smart, educated women than the supposed number of fools that the mainstream media predicted would turn out to vote for Kamala Harris. Those poor souls are now shaving their heads and denying men sex to punish them for voting for the allegedly misogynous Donald J. Trump. Another group of pathetic females are having themselves sterilized to punish the nonexistent men they believe, plan to impregnate them. The TikTok videos of these narcissistic lemmings screaming in anguish after the election and the GOP’s triumph, would be amusing except for the fact that these are people suffering real pain unnecessarily.
Kristen Welker’s Question To Trump About

NBC’s Kristen Welker asked President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday if he still planned to end birthright citizenship. Trump affirmed his plans. But the way Welker deliberately misrepresented the amendment reveals not only a glaring need for clarification from Congress or the Supreme Court about whether children born to illegal aliens are citizens but the dangers of a press who are willing to craft law by word of mouth. “You promised to end birthright citizenship on day one,” Welker said. “Is that still your plan?”

How did violent anti-Israel, pro-Hamas rioters get away with destroying government property, burning American flags and an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and raising a Palestinian flag in place of Old Glory on July 24? Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-Ariz., asked that at the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations hearing, “Desecrating Old Glory: Investigating How the Pro-Hamas Protests Turned National Park Service Land Into a Violent Disgrace,” on Tuesday.

Eager to preserve President-elect Donald Trump ’s hush money conviction even as he returns to office, prosecutors are suggesting various ways forward — including one based on how some courts handle criminal cases when defendants die. Trump’s spokesperson called the ideas “pathetic.” In court papers made public on Tuesday, the Manhattan district attorney’s office proposed an array of options for keeping the historic conviction on the books. The proposals include freezing the case until Trump is out of office, or agreeing that any future sentence wouldn’t include jail time. Another idea:

It's easy to look at the rapid fall of Syria's odious Assad regime and conclude that its dynastic ruler, Bashar al-Assad — flying off to safety in Moscow while Turkish rebels stormed his palace and freed his political prisoners — was the big loser. It would be easy, and it would be wrong. Before we get to the big losers, the big winner (as I wrote last week) could prove to be Turkey's Recep Erdoğan. The HTS rebels who stormed Damascus on Saturday are designated as a terrorist group by Ankara, but Erdoğan has also given them unofficial support.

Illegal immigration, it’s clear, was one of the key factors in Donald Trump’s sweeping win over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Americans expect action from the White House, including using the military to deport those who are here illegally, according to the latest I&I/TIPP Poll data. Some 1,411 adult voters were asked the following question: “How important is it for Trump to quickly find and deport illegal immigrants with criminal records?” Possible responses included “very important,” “somewhat important,” “not very important,” “not at all important,” and “not sure. The national online poll, taken from Nov. 27-29, has a margin of error of +/-2.6 percentage points.

Instead of resigning, however, he reportedly threatened both the whistleblower and the victim to not press the matter further. And then he decided to announce the application for arrest warrants.... Why, by the way, did both Khan and ICC President Piotr Hofmanski meet with Qatar's ambassador to the Netherlands last year? Surely Qatar had nothing to do with influencing the decision to issue the arrest warrants?

If we knew then what we’re learning now about its dangers to health, perhaps the 24 states which have legalized recreational marijuana would not have rushed to do so. What was historically sold to users as harmless and even healthful turns out to be associated with conditions such as Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome (uncontrollable vomiting), marijuana use disorder (aka addiction leading to “negative impact on life and health”); and even the onset of schizophrenia, especially among young men. Thomas McLellan, deputy “drug czar” in the Obama Administration, notes that “the great majority of the cannabis related problems affect those 12-25, which means the problems will have longer duration.”

This is my final column for The New York Times, where I began publishing my opinions in January 2000. I’m retiring from The Times, not the world, so I’ll still be expressing my views in other places. But this does seem like a good occasion to reflect on what has changed over these past 25 years. What strikes me, looking back, is how optimistic many people, both here and in much of the Western world, were back then and the extent to which that optimism has been replaced by anger and resentment. And I’m not just talking about members of the working class who feel betrayed by elites;

Climate scientists recently discovered that they’ve been underestimating the impact of a particular organic compound in the atmosphere, and the oversight’s significance is so profound that it’s left existing climate models completely obsolete. As Jo Nova writes, “This is so big, it may change the sacred ‘climate sensitivity’ of the whole Earth”. Isoprene is what’s known as a volatile organic compound, or a VOC, and “has a recognized role in protecting plants against many abiotic stresses” like “heat stress…drought…[and] oxidative stress” with trees being the greatest emitters. (When the chemical isoprene interacts with other compounds in the atmosphere, the products are a number of secondary organic aerosols.)

Kentanji Brown Jackson may not know what a woman is, but she knows what it is to go to bed one night as just an ordinary Supreme Court justice and to wake up the next day as a Broadway star. Yup, she’s hitting the Great White Way (or, maybe, in her case, the Great Black Way) to fulfill a childhood dream: taking a turn in a Broadway musical. Interestingly, the particular musical she’s chosen, “& Juliet,” is a tawdry pro-transgender show. I think we can now guess how Jackson will vote on Tennessee’s “no ‘gender-affirming’ care on minors” law.

But several experts said the US government might be behind the unsettling flights — which could be part of a super-secret military program meant to test new hardware before it hits the battlefield.
