A Year Ago Today, Terrorists Stole My Son

My son Alon lives in an apartment in Tel Aviv with his friends. It’s not fancy, but it’s charming and warm; sometimes his little brother, Ronen, will stay there if he doesn’t want to make the journey late at night to our home north of Haifa. For more than a decade Alon has played piano, and he has an acceptance letter to Rimon School of Music. He loves to grill, but always complains to his dad that ours doesn’t work, so we bought a brand-new one a few months ago. For his twenty-third birthday this past February, everyone from around our small community came together to play music

May our common God comfort and hold Alon and his loving family in His arms. I'll leave how He deals with his captors and murderers of that day to Him.

Vice President Kamala Harris told “60 Minutes” Monday that she owns a Glock handgun — triggering allegations of hypocrisy due to her own past support for firearm bans and questions about whether she’s complying with existing gun-control laws. “I have a Glock and I’ve had it for quite some time,” the 59-year-old Harris told CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker. “My background is in law enforcement, so there you go.” Asked if she had ever fired the gun, Harris laughingly replied, “Yes, of course I have, at a shooting range— yes, of course, I have.” Harris previously supported handgun bans in both San Francisco, where she

CBS News appears to have edited the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris to show the Democratic 2024 hopeful in a more positive light. Social media erupted in criticism of the vice president's 'word salad' response to a question about the Israeli-Hamas war. But after the episode aired on 60 Minutes on Monday night, the version that was put onto the show's official YouTube page did not include Harris' nonsensical answer and instead included a truncated and more straight-forward response. And pro-MAGA accounts and conservative people on X were quick to point out the change.

Robby Starbuck, a right-wing activist who loves to troll the left, lives on a 12-acre farm in Tennessee, about four hours from the area that Hurricane Helene ravaged last week. After the storm hit southern Appalachia, a friend told him that hurricane victims were struggling to connect with the outside world. “So many people were worried that their family members might have died and they couldn’t get in touch,” Starbuck told The Free Press. The hurricane has been the worst since Katrina in 2005, with 230 deaths so far, and damages estimated between $30 billion and $47 billion. Gov. Ron DeSantis hit back at Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday during an interview on Fox News' "Hannity," as the Florida governor prepares for another hurricane, Hurricane Milton, to hit the state. "For Kamala Harris to try to say my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional," DeSantis said. "She has no role in this, in fact, she's been vice president for three and a half years, I've dealt with a number of storms under this administration, she's never contributed anything to any of these efforts."

Presidential campaigns are as much about policy as they are about marketing. What a candidate says and how they say it—especially when understood in context—can define their personality. On Saturday, President Trump's team put on a master class in presidential campaigning by combining his raw talent for holding rallies with explosive confidence and an injection of creative genius in choreography. Trump was in Butler, PA, a small, sleepy town that is now recognizable around the world and will make an appearance in history textbooks for being the place where a gunman attempted to assassinate the 45th president in July. The Trump campaign was taking on

One year ago, I woke up to multiple text messages telling me there was an attack in Israel. I checked the news and like most people could not believe what I was seeing, texting a friend saying, “They even overran an army base.” Little did I know this was just scratching the surface of the devastation, murder, and evil unleashed that day. Although it shocked me and the rest of the world, it really shouldn’t have. The population of Gaza is raised from childhood to hate Israel, and all Hamas had to do was amass an irregular militia made up of fewer than 1% of Gaza’s military aged males to launch

The fundamental problem with Kamala Harris’s campaign promises is that she has served as vice president of the United States for nearly four years. All those things she is out on the campaign trail pledging to do — well, what has she been doing since Jan. 20, 2021? “She just started by saying she’s going to do this, she’s going to do that, she’s going to do all these wonderful things,” former President Donald Trump said at the debate with Harris last month. “Why hasn’t she done it? She’s been there for 3 1/2 years.” That’s one part of the Harris problem: She’s trying to run as a newcomer when,

Vice President Kamala Harris took aim at Republican Gov. "People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations…is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish," Harris charged on Monday. "It is about political gamesmanship, instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first."

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre got into a heated exchange with Fox News Channel's Peter Doocy over the White House sending aid to Lebanon during the hurricane season, which has had devastating effects on North Carolina. Harris pledged Saturday to send $157 million of "additional assistance" to Lebanon while Israel attacks Hezbollah infrastructure and targets in the country. Harris argued the country was "facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation." Doocy asked Jean-Pierre why the Biden administration was soliciting congressional input before sending disaster loan funds to North Carolina, but not to send the slush funds to a foreign country.

There are rare moments when history illuminates the conflicts of our age and gives us a chance to choose good over evil. Oct. 7, 2023, was this moment for our lifetimes. That day, one year ago, we saw the devil on earth. The Hamas terror group invaded Israel and carried out the deadliest massacre of Jewish people since the Holocaust. With Iranian backing, they murdered, raped, wounded and tortured thousands of Israelis and foreign nationals, and dragged hundreds off to Gaza as hostages. Since then, Israel has been fighting for survival and for justice.

New Zealand’s navy has suffered its first peacetime ship loss since World War II when the $100 million multi-role support vessel HMNZS Manawanui ran aground off the southern coast of Upolu Island, Samoa, caught fire and eventually sank—triggering an environmental disaster in the process. With all 75 passengers and crew evacuated, the vessel’s loss brings fresh scrutiny to the leadership under its openly lesbian commanding officer, Commander Yvonne Gray. The Manawanui, originally built in Norway and repurposed for New Zealand’s Royal Navy with a substantial $103 million investment, was conducting a seabed survey mission when it hit a reef, according to maritime news outlet gCaptain.

The art of the traditional signature is becoming a thing of the past thanks to the rise of online contracts, e-signatures and PIN numbers. Surveys show that just a fifth of young adults aged 18 to 24 now have a personal signature, and a similar share of adults use their signature so infrequently, they can't produce the same one consistently. And that matches what teachers are seeing. Dr Lori Koerner, the assistant superintendent for the Riverhead Central School District in New York, told DailyMail.com: 'I have encountered too many secondary students and employment candidates who cannot sign documents relative to their onboarding process.'

On Friday, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that votes cast for a pro-ranked-choice voting constitutional amendment in the 2024 election will count — even though nearly 38,000 signatures supporting the amendment proposal were duplicates. In its decision, the Grand Canyon State’s high court rejected a challenge seeking to have votes cast for Proposition 140 voided after a lower court special master disclosed that 37,657 pairs of signatures gathered in support of the measure were duplicates. As previously argued by the Arizona Free Enterprise Club (AZFEC), the finding “place[s] Proposition 140 thousands of signatures under the constitutionally required signature threshold to qualify for the [November] ballot.”

Our latest poll, taken of 997 likely voters, finds that more voters say they trust Harris (who’s already announced $4 trillion in tax hikes) than Trump to cut taxes by a 48%-45% margin. Among the crucial independent voters, the margin is even greater – 49% to 36%. That’s not all. More trust Harris to bring about energy independence, 48%-47%. In public, Biden usually refers to Trump in roundabout ways, such as “my predecessor” or “the former guy” — when the incumbent deigns to mention the 45th president at all.
