Stress on the body caused by racism may cut African American women’s lives short, according to a recent study by neuroscientists at Harvard and Emory universities.
Their research, published in the journal JAMA Network Open in June, found a connection between “higher self-reported racial discrimination” and “DNA methylation age acceleration” among black women.
“Racism steals time from people’s lives – possibly because of the space it occupies in the mind,” lead researchers Negar Fani and Nathaniel Harnett wrote in an article this week at The Conversation.
Fani is a professor at Emory and Harnett at Harvard, both in the areas of psychiatry and neuroscience.

Rep. Cori Bush (D) lost her primary in Missouri on Tuesday in the latest blow to the progressive “squad” on Capitol Hill, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.
Bush’s loss to St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell in the 1st Congressional District’s Democratic primary makes her the second member of the group to lose reelection after Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) earlier this year.

A whistleblower is claiming that the lead Secret Service agent in charge of Donald Trump's deadly Butler, Pennsylvania, rally was 'inexperienced' and 'failed to implement appropriate security protocols.' (snip) 'The site agent, the lead agent, was known to the Trump campaign to be inexperienced, to be ineffectual, to be, frankly, incompetent at their job,' Hawley told Fox News' Jesse Watters Monday evening.
'I'm also told by whistleblowers that on that day, she was not enforcing the normal security protocols.'
The Missouri senator noted a slew of concerning abnormalities with the tragic rally from flags that obstructed agents' views to authorities forgoing ID checks.

DOUGLAS EMHOFF, SECOND GENTLEMAN OF THE UNITED STATES: "Oof. This is something I have thought about a lot, I’ve spoken about a lot. This week, a large Zoom event called ‘Blacks Against Harris’ took place and was attended by thousands of people, but the media ignored it. Apparently, ‘White Dudes for Harris’ and ‘White Women for Harris’ are fine, but ‘Blacks Against Harris’ is unacceptable.
Why do you suppose that is? If Democrats and their media allies want to live in this divisive world of identity politics, they should not be allowed to pick and choose which groups deserve attention and praise.
Twitter/X user Dom Lucre posted the following on his feed:
Blacks Against Harris Zoom call was successful with over 72,000 attendees in total.

A tweet from a Democrat has sparked chaos after it appeared to suggest that Vice President Kamala Harris picked Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate.
Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker prompted confusion with a post on Friday saying: 'Proud to be back with so many leaders from across our region supporting @KamalaHarris for President and @JoshShapiroP for VP!'.
She included a video with footage of recent press conferences that ended with the message: 'Josh Shapiro for Vice President'.
Journalist Ernest Owens then claimed he had heard from sources that the post was due to be scheduled for Monday, but was accidentally published early.

Vice President Kamala Harris, now running for the Democrat nomination for president, was once a top champion for allowing illegal aliens to become licensed attorneys in the sanctuary state of California.
In 2014, the California Supreme Court ruled in a unanimous decision to admit illegal alien Sergio Garcia of Mexico to the State Bar thus allowing him to become a licensed attorney in the state.
Harris was at the time the attorney general of California and served as the top advocate for allowing Garcia to become a licensed attorney — opening the door for thousands of illegal aliens across the state to become licensed attorneys.
