U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a long-serving Democrat from Texas, has passed away at the age of 74.
Her family released the following statement:
Today, with incredible grief for our loss yet deep gratitude for the life she shared with us, we announce the passing of United States Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of the 18th Congressional District of Texas.
A fierce champion of the people, she was affectionately and simply known as “Congresswoman” by her constituents

I am sorry she developed pancreatic cancer. I watched my Grandfather die from that condition. It was not pretty. But she was a doofus.

Okay. We didn't like her.
As I'm getting older and closer to my time where I meet my maker, I'm getting a little softer. I understand SJL had pancreatic cancer, which is pretty fast and painful.
May her friends and family be consoled at her passing. As for what happens when she gets to the Pearly Gates, well, that's far beyond my pay grade.

She knew she was dying, but she held on to her office. Why?
Just so others can say you died in office.

wasn't she the one who asked if the mars rover could travel to the apollo moon landing site?
She was an embarrassment to her constituents, though they may not have known it

Dear Lord, we come to you seeking strength and grace. While we ask You to protect us from those who give no thought to the harmful consequences of their irresponsible actions, we also beg for grace -and forgiveness- within our prayers for those who blindly trespass. Shield us from the injurious situations they cause, let their malicious intents be hindered and target our prayers when comeuppance arrives.
As we earnestly try to live in peace with everyone, keep us away from contentious people who might incite us to react without pause or grace. Provide us with gracious, strong yet gentle words for healing that may help pacify the troubled hearts of the malicious. We make effort to glorify You and give testimony of our faith at every opportunity.
Guide and comfort the family of Mrs. Sheila Jackson Lee. During this time of loss and sorrow, bring them closer to You. We beg You to wrap Your wing of love around them, in the way that only Your purity can provide. In Your name of mercy, we pray.

Condolences to her family.
However, this seems to be one of the few ways to replenish Congress. It shouldn't be this way. Sheila Jackson Lee should've been back amongst her constituents a decade or two ago, if not longer.

Belated condolences to you Ladydawg for the loss of your brother.
Losing a close family member such as you did is tough to get over.
And thanks for the kind words about the passing of Ms. Lee.
Although most on this board probably disagreed with them.
The world needs more people like you.

It was said somewhere not to speak ill of the dead. But I say, I'm glad she is gone. She's in a better place now, not here interfering with peoples lives being a democrat.

Condolences to her family who obviously loved her very much. She will now have her time to stand before our Judge to be held accountable for things she's said and done in her life. He created her and knows her "inside and out"; He doesn't require my opinion of her in order to render sound judgment. She's in His hands now.

My mother served with her on the HISD Board. SJLs definition of serving ‘for the people’ is a clintonian-era term that includes only a 1-person serving. And as Mother taught me, no comment.

Thanks #9.
Upon hearing stories of Near Death Experiencers of the other side, one cannot wish for anything other than spending eternity with our LORD & Savior. GOD allows us to worship the god/s of our choosing. She was created in the Image of God. In her last minute, I hope she was worshiping the right God. It truly is all about Him. Our ways are not His ways. RIP SJL I hope. Otherwise the Hell you are experiencing is beyond comprehension.

I differed from her in just about every way possible. We have had enough cancer in our family to offer condolences to anyone who battles with any form of cancer.
She has passed away, and the void she leaves in the House of Representatives means that the average intelligence quotient has no risen slightly. I’m sure that when her replacement takes office, it will go back down to the low double digits that we have come to expect from this body.

THE biggest difference between us and the left when death calls and it 's a political person, is that they are nearly 100 % nasty in their comments.
