CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A shootout that killed four law enforcement officers and wounded four others in North Carolina began as officers approached a home to serve a warrant for a felon wanted for possessing a firearm, police said. Some of the officers who rushed to the Charlotte neighborhood Monday afternoon to rescue the first wave of downed officers were wounded as a second shooter began firing on them after they killed the wanted man, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said. It was the deadliest day for U.S. law enforcement in one incident since five officers were killed by a sniper during a protest in Dallas in 2016.

I have read that this was a US Marshals' Task Force to serve felony warrants. Seems like they didn't have a good plan for a really violent reaction, and the bad guy or guys had a better plan for "when the cops show up". Sad for the officers, but it would seem that these warrants should be served with a serious plan, full rifle grade body armor and lots of circumspection.

Re: #2 - They are feds working under a full blown leftist administration's guidance, so their rules of engagement do not include common sense. You have to believe the deaths of the officers were applauded by Biden and his communist handlers. The killer will be seen as the victim and mourned by this administration.

Following this horrendous loss of life. Already the "spokespersons" are talking about their "community." There is no community. There are only individuals.

Maame Djondo didn’t misspell a single word during Saturday’s Knights of Columbus spelling bee. And it’s a good thing too, because a single word is all she got. In fact, Djondo’s word — “cancel” — was the only word spelled on Saturday morning, as she was the only participant in the event. Once drawing as many as a dozen students, Lansing Knights of Columbus #3450 has hosted a spelling bee for decades, drawing local spellers in grades 5–8. However, the pandemic, combined with the closure of St. Ann School, has resulted in a lower turnout in recent years, said organizers. Last year’s bee drew three participants

Rep. Forcing a vote on the motion to vacate resolution — which Greene filed against Johnson more than a month ago — will compel the chamber to act on the measure within two legislative days. “I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote and let the chips fall where they

California Democrats who pushed through the state’s punitive new minimum wage must be feeling mighty proud about now. Not only are fast-food joints closing or replacing low-end employees with overseas workers and robots, now the law is costing the very people it was supposed to help while decimating consumers’ wallets. Well done! The $20-an-hour wage floor foisted on California’s fast-food restaurants, dubbed with the innocent-sounding moniker Assembly Bill 257, was signed into law last fall. It didn’t take long to become a disaster. Hoover Institution senior fellow and economist Lee Ohanian showed just how quickly bad policies can wreck an economy.
