California Democrats who pushed through the state’s punitive new minimum wage must be feeling mighty proud about now. Not only are fast-food joints closing or replacing low-end employees with overseas workers and robots, now the law is costing the very people it was supposed to help while decimating consumers’ wallets. Well done!
The $20-an-hour wage floor foisted on California’s fast-food restaurants, dubbed with the innocent-sounding moniker Assembly Bill 257, was signed into law last fall. It didn’t take long to become a disaster.
Hoover Institution senior fellow and economist Lee Ohanian showed just how quickly bad policies can wreck an economy. And the damage was done even before the law

The sad thing is, the dem leadership is not that stupid. The effects of their bill were well understood and predictable. They WANTED this outcome. Why? To create more people out of a job, dependent on government, and probably not smart enough to realize how they have been manipulated. The next step to to create an economic support program for the unemployed, i.e. welfare.
The dems can rightly say that Republicans don't support such programs so they can scare the people on these programs into voting for dems. Of course they fail to mention that Republicans wouldn't sabotage the job market in the first place and that employed people don't need welfare.
None of this is news. It's sad that so many people still fall for the dems repeatedly failed ideas.

Many, many Leftists will no doubt announce that they did not fail, they just did not raise the minimum wage high enough. If only they had made it at least $40/hr, everything would be okay. Those evil private sector businesses are always hoarding cash, not willing to 'spread it around.'

Fast food worker: Gee, if I hadn't been laid off I'd be making $20.00 an hour.

Another 3-letter agency in California the FFC: The “Fast Food Council.” a non-elected council that will have near dictatorial powers over fast-food outlets’ labor policies, including pay.
Wait for it nationally

As predicted by all with a brain and a memory. Lefitsts have a whole bag of "great ideas" which ALWAYS cause harm, and not help.
Always.
And.....when they try one of their "good ideas" and it makes things worse, they become CERTAIN, that the problem is caused by "not enough" of their "good idea", so they do MORE of it.
Like you steer your car towards the ditch and ....dang, it heads towards the ditch. And the FIX for this is .....according to leftists.....steer towards the ditch HARDER, that'll fix it.
And then when they hit the ditch, they turn to the passengers and blame THEM for being in a ditch.

I have found quite a few kiosks that do not function, some that require you download an app (McDonald’s), some that do not offer the spectrum of choices the menu has (Wendy’s), some that aggressively try to upsell (panera) and none that provide the social banter that glue us together.

I have never found one “ordering kiosks,” basically firing workers and replacing them with user-friendly computer terminals.

McDonalds sales have dropped on a daily, quarterly and yearly scale. Burger King is investing $300 million to upgrade their stores to attract more business when what they need to upgrade is the quality and size of their burgers. Just pull out the recipes you used fifteen years ago, you know, the ones you photograph for today's ads. The Whopper Junior is an oxymoron. Taco Bell might as well close now.

Keep trying to decide if liberals are evil or just plain stupid.
Perhaps the two are not mutually exclusive.
