MSNBC host Ari Melber aired a video Wednesday on “The Beat” of an interview with former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove at the Rancho Mirage Writers Festival.
Rove said, “If they were smart, they’d take the January 6th and go hard at it. And they would say, ‘He wants to pardon these people who attacked our Capitol.’ I worked in that building as a young man. [snip]
" And every one of those sons a bitches who did that, we oughta find them, try them, and send them to jail.

First Lady Jill Biden is urging her husband to take a tougher stance on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip, The New York Times reported on Thursday.
Biden is currently under political pressure to call for an end to Israel’s military operations in Gaza against Hamas, the terror group responsible for killing over 1,200 civilians on Oct. 7. Biden said during a meeting with Muslim community leaders at the White House on Tuesday that the first lady is now giving him that same pressure, sharing with attendees that she had told him to “stop it,” according to NYT.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene aired speculative concerns regarding Speaker Mike Johnson’s recent political actions, suggesting a potential blackmail situation to explain what she perceives as a radical departure from his known conservative stances. [Snip] ... people are literally asking, is he blackmailed? [Snip] He completely changed who he was, funded the FBI, gave them a brand new building, fully funded the Department of Justice that is persecuting everyone on the right and actually targeting a presidential candidate for election this year. Literally trying to put him in jail for the rest of his life. We don’t know who Mike Johnson is anymore.”

Former adviser to President George W. Bush Karl Rove warned Donald Trump that the former president’s attitude toward Nikki Haley’s supporters threatens his reelection bid this November.
Rove claimed that with the electoral makeup of the 2024 election so close, Trump should not upset supporters of the former U.N. ambassador because their lack of support for him could benefit President Joe Biden instead. More than 76,000 voters chose Haley in Tuesday night’s Wisconsin primary, representing a significant percentage of voters still not sold on Trump.
“Mr. Trump’s attitude to his rivals’ supporters has gone from dismissiveness—’they always bend the knee’—to indifference, saying he doesn’t need ‘too many’ Haley supporters to win

I was born in the 1960s, just about the time people decided it was bad for children to be born.
Oh, I don’t take it personally. It’s just people started to worry about a “population explosion.”
Thanks to antibiotics, vaccines, mosquito eradication and better farming, people weren’t dying off as they had been.
But they were still having babies.
This led to more people.
And quite a few folks — themselves already born — thought that was bad. The most famous is Stanford’s Paul Ehrlich, an entomologist whose bestselling book about people, “The Population Bomb,” promised the Earth a grim Malthusian fate, only a decade or so away.

The Biden administration somewhat quietly announced cuts to next year's base payments to Medicare Advantage plans, adding concerns to an already unstable economic environment.According to multiple reports, the administration will be decreasing that base pay by 0.16 percent, which may not seem like much, but it can have a big impact on enrollees.
What they're saying: "These policies will put even more pressure on the benefits and premiums of 33 million Medicare Advantage beneficiaries who will be renewing their coverage this fall," said Mike Tuffin, CEO of the insurer trade group AHIP.

Should Donald Trump be elected this fall, he should waste no time in reversing Joe Biden’s electric vehicle mandate. Biden not only overstepped his authority, he set the country directly on a course that will bring nothing but trouble.
Acting like the authoritarian that the Democrats and media claim that Donald Trump is, Biden, with a pen and maybe a phone, has ordered through his Environmental Protection Agency to issue a rule that will require Americans to replace their internal-combustion engine automobiles with battery-powered cars. The rule doesn’t

The government’s chief human resources agency issued a new rule on Thursday making it harder to fire thousands of federal employees, hoping to head off former President Donald Trump’s promises to radically remake the workforce along ideological lines if he wins back the White House in November.
The Office of Personnel Management regulations will bar career civil servants from being reclassified as political appointees or as other at-will workers, who are more easily dismissed from their jobs.

The 780,000 reports were received shortly after the COVID-19 vaccines were rolled out and show that people experienced a wide range of post-vaccination problems, including heart inflammation, miscarriages, and seizures.

President Biden on Thursday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toward a cease-fire deal that would release the remaining hostages in Gaza while suggesting that U.S. policy on the war will depend on Israel’s ability to better protect civilians and humanitarian workers after a deadly attack that killed a contingent of international aid workers this week.
Biden spoke with Netanyahu days after an Israeli strike killed several humanitarian aid workers with World Central Kitchen, a charity group that was distributing food to Palestinians in Gaza. The president told Netanyahu the incident was “unacceptable.”

The 2024 general election is in full swing and the presidential candidates are making their case to the nation. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are duking it out on the campaign trail as Americans decide which candidate they will support.
A new Economist/YouGov poll’s findings revealed precisely what the 2024 election will be about. The survey showed that regardless of which side one is on, this race is all about Trump.
Researchers found that about 67 percent of Trump supporters are mostly voting for the former president. Among Democrats, about 52 percent indicated their votes will be against Trump.
