Joe Biden, the (still) unpopular president

There’s been a lot of wishful reporting about the political fortunes and reelection hopes of President Joe Biden. Look at some of the headlines: “Biden gains on Trump in 6 battleground states.” “Biden-Trump rematch tightens.” “Biden’s polling is improving.” And more. A recent modest uptick in Biden’s polls, which may or may not signal the start of a real change in the presidential race, has excited many commentators. But remember a fundamental problem for Biden. Most voters do not approve of the job he is doing as president, and they have not approved of it for the last three years. If that does not change by Nov. 5,

As Rush Limbaugh would say before every election, up until the final four weeks before election day, the goal of mass-market pollsters is not to provide an accurate reflection of public opinion, it is to shape public opinion. They will tweak their selection criteria and questions to produce a result that maximizes liberal engagement and depresses conservatives. Most well-known national polling companies are joined at the hip with the leftist establishment and behave accordingly. Nobody should believe any poll conducted more than a month out. Once it gets closer to election day though, the pollsters are then in reputation protection mode so the results actually begin to reflect the public's position.

Americans of either party would have to be even more into mental illness than Joe Biden if they would vote for him.

There's lots of turmoil in the world, and Joe-Pop usually can't handle it. I expect his approval rating to go lower again as ISIS/Al Qaeda gains momentum, and Ukraine/Russia/Hamas wars heat up,

Biden plans to run another Basement Campaign where he makes a campaign visit on Friday and then heads home to Delaware for a 3 day vacation. The Baltimore bridge collapse was a godsend to him as it’s close to his beach house so that he can visit Baltimore or Fridays and then head home to the beach. FJB will not debate so we are only going to see him 2 more times before the election- his convention speech and reading a bumbling eulogy at Jimmy Carter’s funeral- which Biden hopes happens before the election.

District Hiring 'Whiteness' Superintendent

The Saint Louis Park School District, located in the suburbs of Minneapolis, is hiring an assistant superintendent to "examine the presence of Whiteness" in the district. It's a good gig, paying between $134,000 and $201,000. (Snip)It seems that "Whiteness" is a pressing problem for the district, which no doubt explains why there has been so much learning loss in the public schools over the past few years. Enrollment of White students has been dropping, with only 53% of the students being White, and as they have fled to other districts, the problem of White Supremacy has gotten worse, leading to horrible test scores:

For decades, the Democrats have depended on the overwhelming support of minority voters to keep their party electorally viable. Even when they nominate candidates with spotty civil rights records, like Joe Biden, the Democrats could count on at least 90 percent of the Black vote and about 70 percent of the Latino vote. Now, however, polls suggest that neither the President nor his party can take these votes for granted. The latest New York Times/Siena College poll, for example, found that Biden’s lead over former President Trump among non-white working class voters has plummeted to 6 points (47-41).

President Joe Biden is in a bad spot in his upcoming rematch against former President Donald Trump. In short: The incumbent’s job approval ratings are that of one-term presidents. “Joe Biden’s 38% approval rating at this stage in the calendar is lower than that of the last three presidents who went on to lose re-election: 1. Donald Trump (48%) 2. George H.W. Bush (39%) 3. Jimmy Carter (43%),” long-time GOP pollster Frank Luntz pointed out on X, formerly Twitter.

In the absence of an extremely unlikely recovery of public confidence in the President and the Democrats, the voters will attempt to return the White House and the Senate to the Republicans in November. As to the presidency, Trump is the beneficiary of an accelerating collapse in the traditional Democratic coalition that rested on a foundation of white working class and minority voters. And there aren’t enough “highly-educated” voters to prop up this crumbling edifice. With regard to the Senate, the Democrats face a brutal map this year. Of the 33 seats up for election, 23 are held by Democrats.

President Biden campaigned in Saginaw, Michigan this week. The optics were bad. It is difficult to understand exactly what the Biden campaign's strategy is as he tries to convince voters that he should be re-elected in November. The campaign is concentrating on swing states, as is expected, but when Saginaw, Michigan was chosen, people rightly asked why. It turns out that Saginaw County is a swing county in a swing state. Voters in Saginaw County voted for Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and then Joe Biden. Will they stay with Biden this time around? Why would anyone vote for Joe Biden after seeing him on the campaign trail?

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) appeared on CNN Tuesday night to discuss the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas war including alleged ceasefire negotiations that are reportedly on again, off again.During the segment, Omar criticized Israel for allegedly not showing up for the latest round of negotiations in Egypt. "It was Israel that refused to send negotiators to be at the table to carve out," Omar stated. "You have to remember that a ceasefire is not something that happens magically. It is a process that is negotiated by different parties that have interests." Israel, of course, is not interested in a ceasefire as long as Hamas has Israeli hostages,

It was inevitable that the corporate media would applaud President Biden’s State of the Union address if he had the vitality to stand upright for two hours and the vision to read a teleprompter. For ordinary voters who aren’t paid to praise him, Biden’s performance last Thursday night probably confirmed many of their fears about leaving him in office for another term. This, for example, is how he described the current state of our domestic politics: “Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault here at home as they are today.”

In mid-February, an ABC News/Ipsos poll found that nearly nine out of 10 Americans think Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term as president. That's not exactly breaking news. What is newsworthy is veteran political analyst Brit Hume declaring on Tuesday night that Biden is "palpably senile."(Snip)The newsworthiness was less about what was said and more about who said it. Democrat Fani Willis’ legal troubles extend beyond recent revelations that she deceptively hired her otherwise under-qualified, secret, married lover to run the political prosecution of former President Donald Trump and other Republicans in Georgia. A new book from Mike Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman admits that a widely misunderstood phone call, on which Willis’ political prosecution rests, was illegally recorded. That means the entire prosecution could crumble with defendants having a new avenue to challenge Democrat lawfare. Find Me the Votes: A Hard-Charging Georgia Prosecutor, a Rogue President, and the Plot to Steal an American Election is a fawning political biography of Willis.

Any rational person familiar with the behavior of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis during the prosecutorial misconduct hearings that finally ended last Friday has probably concluded that her conduct has created the “appearance of impropriety.” This, according to defense lawyers for former President Trump and several co-defendants, is sufficient to disqualify Willis and the Fulton County DA’s office from prosecuting the RICO case they launched last August. Indeed, defense attorney Harry MacDougald cited six examples of actual conflicts of interest, any one of which is sufficient to disqualify Willis and her office. Yet it’s unlikely that it will happen.

Indeed, as Techno Fog notes, Bradley has previously stated in text messages to Ashleigh Merchant (attorney for defendant Michael Roman) that: (1) the relationship between Willis and Wade started before he was appointed special prosecutor,

Former Representative Liz Cheney issued a warning to the United States Supreme Court about its handling of former President Donald Trump's claims of presidential immunity. The Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments into Trump's immunity claims on April 25. His legal team has argued presidential immunity should shield Trump from being charged in the Department of Justice (DOJ) case surrounding alleged attempts at thwarting the 2020 election results. The DOJ last year charged the former president with attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, culminating in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, as well as alleged efforts to

The United States' top intelligence agency wants to ban its spies from using "biased language," including the terms "radical Islamists" and "jihadist," saying these words "are hurtful to Muslim-Americans and detrimentally impact our efforts as they bolster extremist rhetoric," according to a language guide published internally. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which is responsible for handling the country's spy apparatus, seeks to ban a range of common terms because it says they offend Muslims and foment racism against employees. In addition to terms describing Islamic terrorists, ODNI instructs employees to avoid phrases such as "blacklisted," "cakewalk," "brown bag," "grandfathered," and "sanity check."

The New York City council is asking the state’s Supreme Court to allow illegal immigrants to vote in the city’s municipal elections. In 2021, then-Mayor Bill de Blasio signed a law that would have allowed 800,000 non-citizens with green cards, visas, and work permits to vote as long as they have resided in the city for at least 30 consecutive days. However, the controversial law was struck down last month by an appellate court.

Claim: Comedian Jon Stewart said this week that the loans at the center of the civil real-estate case against Donald Trump meant there were fewer loans available to other borrowers. “Money isn’t infinite. A loan that goes to the liar doesn’t go to someone who’s giving a more honest evaluation. So the system becomes incentivized for corruption,” Stewart said. Verdict: False. The amount of money available for loans from banks is not diminished when banks make loans to other customers, except in the rare case of a distressed bank that is capital-constrained. A loan to one customer does not subtract from a fixed pool of loans

President Joe Biden is being pressed to use the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore as an opportunity to remedy alleged racial discrimination against blacks in the construction industry. Biden said this week that he had told his administration officials to “move heaven and earth” to reopen the port of Baltimore and rebuild the bridge. The reconstruction efforts, however, may be complicated by demands that the project further leftwing ideas about racial justice, the treatment of immigrants, climate change, and wealth redistribution. An op-ed in The Hill underscores that some of these demands may be irreconcilable.

The following essay is adapted from the author’s new book, Pagan America: The Decline of Christianity and the Dark Age to Come. It’s hard to survey the state of our country and not conclude that something is very wrong in America. I don’t just mean with our economy or the border or rampant crime in our cities, but with our basic grasp on reality itself. Our cultural and political elite now insist that men can become women, and vice versa, and that even children can consent to what they euphemistically call “gender-affirming care.”

The Gateway Pundit reported last week that Joe Biden issued the most radical environmental rules in American history to phase out gasoline-powered vehicles and force customers to drive ineffective electric cars. Now, a new report has revealed the effort to finish off the gas-powered car is well-underway in eight states. As The Daily Mail reported Tuesday, the rules being adopted in these states specify that only zero-emission vehicles, which include electric vehicles and certain plug-in hybrids, can be sold beginning with the 2035 model year. This is known as the Advanced Clean Cars II rule.

A 3,000-acre solar farm 40 miles from Houston, Texas, was massively damaged on March 15 when huge chunks of hail fell from the sky and shattered hundreds of panels, leaving the facility running at “reduced capacity.” From the look of the pictures, it would seem that it’s operating at heavily reduced capacity. Not only does the storm highlight the fragility of so-called green energy facilities, but area residents are worried about toxic chemical leaks. Needville resident Nick Kaminski spoke with a local television affiliate: My concern is the hail damage that came through and busted these panels – we now have some highly toxic chemicals

Despite mail-in voting and ballot harvesting and a host of other perfectly legal ways to tilt the playing field, could Old Joe Biden actually lose in November? If a Tuesday New York Times story is to be believed, the answer is a resounding yes, and among the most worried is the senescent corruptocrat’s old friend and mentor, Barack Obama. “Old friend and mentor,” as is well known, is largely an image manufactured for public consumption. Obama has actually taken the measure of his aged former wingman, and has famously warned: “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.” If the Times story is accurate, and not just another signal
