Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday weighed in on NBC News’ decision to drop ex-Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel from the network after complaints from on-air talent.
“Wow! Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC. She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” the 77-year-old presumptive GOP nominee wrote on Truth Social.
Trump then appeared to suggest that McDaniel may now be in some sort of political purgatory after her NBC News exit and prior resignation from the RNC following mounting criticism of her leadership.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. chose Nicole Shanahan on Tuesday to be his vice presidential pick as he mounts an independent White House bid that has spooked national Democrats.
Shanahan, 38, is a California lawyer and philanthropist who’s never held elected office. Shanahan leads Bia-Echo Foundation, an organization she founded to direct money toward issues including women’s reproductive science, criminal justice reform and environmental causes.
Kennedy, a former Democrat, made the announcement in Oakland, California.
“Nicole and I both left the Democratic Party,” she said. “Our values didn’t change. The Democratic Party did.”

Former President Donald Trump is urging Republicans in Michigan to target Black voters in Detroit and other predominantly African American areas in the swing state, state GOP leaders said Monday.
Michigan GOP leaders, including the state party’s new chair, traveled to Florida to strategize the Trump campaign’s approach to winning the state in 2024. Much of the discussion centered on southeast Michigan, an area with large groups of minority voters who have been critical of President Joe Biden, particularly over his handling of the Israel-Hamas war that has caused high civilian casualties in Gaza.

Now they're trying to stop Capital One from acquiring the credit card company Discover.
That's a bizarre cease-and-desist order, because this acquisition by Capital One would INCREASE rather than inhibit competition in an industry that processes two-thirds of retail store and online transactions worth $5 trillion each year. Americans love swiping and tapping for their shopping.
To suggest that the acquisition of two companies that control less than 10% of the market is anti-competitive is a proposition that borders on the absurd.
For years the Federal Trade Commission and retailers have argued falsely that there isn't competition in the credit card market. There are dozens of credit cards issued by banks and retailers

Last Friday, terrorists attacked Moscow’s “Crocus City Hall” music venue, killing over a hundred people. My condolences to their families. Within a day, leaked footage showed a suspect getting his ear cut off and being made to eat it. Additional footage showed a suspect in great pain with electrical equipment attached to his genitals.
It was the type of gruesome footage from which we tend to turn away. We form our private opinions and don’t discuss them. I fear the silence allows some observers to regard this as extreme but effective justice. Perhaps people will tell themselves the word that has justified centuries of Russia’s self-inflicted tyranny: “order.”

Liberal Massachusetts is overrun with illegal border crossers and there’s really no wonder why when you see the laundry list of things that are provided for ‘free’ courtesy of taxpayers in the Bay State.
All of these perks just act as incentives, driving more illegals into the state.
And remember, there are American citizens in Massachusetts who are poor and don’t get nearly as much from the state.
Longtime Boston talk host Howie Carr posted this list on his website: Three meals a day at $64 per person per diem.
Free on-site medical & dental services (including condoms).
Special diet for Ramadan.
Free same-day dry cleaning w/free pick up & delivery.

There he’s said it again President López Obrador (in Spanish/English translation): We do and want to continue doing it, but we do want for the root causes to be attended to, for them to be seriously looked at.
With the ear of the White House – President López Obrador proposed his fix- that the United States commit $20 billion a year to poor countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, lift sanctions on Venezuela, end the Cuban embargo and legalize millions of law-abiding Mexicans living in the U.S. Sharyn Alfonsi: If they don’t do the things that you said need to be done, then what?

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley weighed in on Letitia James’ latest move to seize Trump’s assets.
Marxist New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday took the initial step to seize Trump’s assets. She filed judgments in Westchester County where Trump’s private estate and golf course is located.
President Trump has until Monday to either pay the judgment or convince the appellate court to allow him to defer the payment pending appeal.
Turley said James’ effort to seize his assets and padlock Trump Tower is not likely to happen because Trump’s properties are complex partnerships with leveraged debt.

In the decade I served on a school board, I learned a great deal about group dynamics. The most important lesson, I suppose, is that there are people -- most often highly neurotic people -- who deliberately create chaos. They undermine every effort to rationally deal with issues that require solutions. They violate norms like crediting the work of committees that were designated to analyze what needs to be done and offer solutions for the board to act on, dispiriting those desirous of accomplishing what must be done. They go behind the backs of board members to undercut the systematic workings of the board,

The results of the Louisiana Republican primary are in and Trump won the day.
Louisiana is a ‘winner takes all’ state, so Trump also won every delegate.
Trump won Louisiana in the general elections of 2016 and 2020. Former President Trump, the likely GOP nominee, has won the Louisiana Republican presidential primary, Decision Desk HQ projected.
Trump went into the Louisiana primary with 1,636 pledged delegates and won all 47 delegates available Saturday. The state awards its delegates in a “winner-take-all” manner.
The former president has already crossed the threshold needed to clinch the party’s nomination, setting up a rematch between him and President Biden in November

Ronna McDaniel, who stepped down as chair of the Republican National Committee earlier this month, will join NBC News as a political analyst starting Sunday.
McDaniel is expected to contribute to both NBC and MSNBC. Her first appearance will be on Sunday on “Meet the Press,” where she will give her first interview since stepping down from the RNC. An NBC News spokesperson confirmed the move to POLITICO, which was first reported by The New York Times. “It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team,” Carrie Budoff Brown, who leads political coverage at NBC,

CNN data analyst Harry Enten recently cited a new poll which shows Trump with a nearly insurmountable lead over Biden on the issue of border security.
It’s very easy to understand why. It’s just amazing that CNN reported on this.
And remember, this is now the top issue for the 2024 election, even eclipsing the economy.
Mediaite reports: CNN elections analyst Harry Enten observed that polling suggests that President Joe Biden is on pace for the worst performance by a Democratic presidential candidate with Hispanics “since we started polling the gosh darn thing” in an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 Wednesday night.
