Elizabeth Warren, who once was a formidable force in Washington, D.C., and hoped one day to be president of the United States, is now so desperate to grab a sliver of the spotlight she’s taking on Big Snack Food and Big Toilet Paper. She managed only to reveal how irrelevant and economically ignorant she really is. In a campaign email, a tweet, and a video, Warren complains that consumers are getting ripped off. “Have you ever finished a bag of Doritos and thought, ‘Whoa — there should have been a lot more chips in here’? You were right,” she exclaims.

Sen. The ruling class’ obsession with building a carbon dioxide-free world has blinded it to material facts. The Al Gores and Gavin Newsoms and John Kerrys of the West believe they only have to bark orders and seize other people’s money and their green dreams will be realized. When are they going to understand their wishes are not everyone else’s command?
There are many examples of the ruling class’ failure to recognize its limitations in regard to energy. The electric vehicle backlash comes to mind. So do the many green “investments” that have turned out to be financial holes of a different color.
For this commentary, though,

Elites are individuals who occupy the upper strata in society through either wealth, politics, sports, religion, and/or social status (such as entertainment), and they have been a part of society for millennia. Because of human nature, elites have usually — though not always — considered themselves to be better than those below them or have simply been indifferent to them.
By the same token, those below the elites have either envied them, worshipped them, been hostile towards them, or have just simply been indifferent to them, occupying different worlds of which they were not privy to, though they might have been curious.
