Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) proposed a $14 trillion reparations plan Tuesday “for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of Black people in the United States.”
The progressive congressman called on the federal government to foot the bill, arguing that there’s a way to pay for it “without raising taxes on anyone." (snip) “When COVID was destroying us, we invested in the American people in a way that kept the economy afloat,” (snip)
“Where did the money come from?” he continued. “We spent it into existence.”

What a unique idea! Black man wants working taxpayers to give a bunch of money to him and his race for simply existing on the planet. I think Congress should jump all over that since all they have to do is fire up the printing presses and stamp out 14 trillion more dollars.

Democrats LOVE spending other people's money, don't they? Well, if this reparations BS ever goes thru, they can come to MY HOUSE with a load of cash first. I'm of Slavic descent, and my people were enslaved for centuries before anyone even knew there was an Africa.

There is no African, alive in America today, that was ever a slave in America.
Take your grubby gifting ways and head over to China, or too some modern Socialist African Countries and give them your grief. I don't guarantee you won't be added to their involuntary workforce, but you'll be less of a hipocrite.

Should be simple. Just get all vendors to the US- including congressthieves- to contribute all their payments/salaries/reimbursements to be received for the next 4 years to the “reparations slush fund.” Of course, they must all still continue to provide the goods and services.

That is enough to BUY the entire Continent of Africa.
4 1/2 years worth of the entire continents GDP
As of 2023, the GDP of Africa was estimated at roughly 3.1 trillion U.S. dollars. This was the highest value since 2010 when the continent's GDP amounted to approximately 2.1 trillion U.S. dollars.

I would first like to see full documented proof that their ancestors were ever slaves, and, if so, exactly how, where and when they were harmed financially by that. Having multiple children with no visible father and being the recipient of multiple social programs will not suffice. Neither will chronic unemployment or a criminal record. I would also require a diagram, with narrative, that explains how money spends itself into existence. It would be helpful for all of us to understand that.

Children born out of wedlock, the murder of blacks by blacks, refusing to participate in their own education (this encompasses a whole lot of issues), shunning the rule of law, low to no morales, lack of a work ethic, living in the land of victimhood, insert your favorite here (I know I have forgotten at least two dozen, All of these traits perpetuated by the black community has hurt them more then a long lost unknown slave relative of 150 years ago has done. This request is manure. And let's not forget that blacks were sold into slavery by other blacks and blacks actually did own slaves here. What to do what to do?

The only reparations they should be offered is a one-way ticket back to Africa with no return. Maybe a thousand dollars walking around money.

I'm "alarmed" by Bowman's use of legislation for social engineering and wealth transfers. What is holding Black people down today is often other Black people and a culture of crime. They are so afraid of "acting White" that they would rather be uneducated and poor that go to school and work hard. Blacks are still stuck on the plantation of liberal dependence with Democrats. Reparations will fix nothing. They will make the racial divide worse as nobody wants to help support people who do not want to help themselves.

Why not make it 10,000 Brazillion dollars, I don't intend to pay anything to pay off people for being slaves when the slaves are all dead. What would it cost the Government if everyone in the country stopped working for a day?

The first slave owner in America was not only a black man, he went to court to demand it.
In 1654, it was time for Anthony Johnson to release John Casor, a black indentured servant. Instead, Johnson to Casor he was extending his time. Casor left and became employed by the free white man, Robert Parker.
Anthony Johnson sued Robert Parker in the Northampton Court in 1654. In 1655, the court ruled that Anthony Johnson could hold John Casor indefinitely. The court gave judicial sanction for blacks to own slaves of their own race. Thus Casor became the first permanent slave and Anthony Johnson the first slave owner.
And, BTW, I also have documented family members who fought for the North. Far as I'm concerned, my family's debt is paid in full!!
