13 Israeli hostages are now under Israeli supervision and on their way home, and 39 criminals are returning to Gaza. Israel made this exchange because of the Jewish value of treasuring each individual life. But given that Hamas repeatedly demonstrates that they have no respect for life, even for their own civilians whom they use as human shields, why is Hamas actually making this exchange? There is the obvious reason that it gives Hamas days to recover and regroup, but there is another, more insidious and dangerous reason for Hamas to make this exchange. A reason that has nothing to do with the military war against Israel

3 for 1 is a great exchange rate for Hamas!
Israel can expect many more kidnappings in the future.

Sorry Rabbi. While it is true that those Gazans of voting age have supported Hamas albeit at the point of a gun, that does not mean all are terrorists or should be treated as such. That is exactly the same justification Hamas uses to justify their murder of innocents. Does the author truly believe that mothers and children WANT to move to be in harms way willingly?

in the name of all that is holy may Hamas be defeated. I am not sure those Gazans understand the issues. There are a lot of idiots out there in the world. But as for what Hamas wants, well, luxury at the top and death for everybody else and giggle for the spectators till they are chosen in their turn. Michael the Archangel, defend Israel in battle, be their protection.

Well, if some here believe that not all Gazans are terrorists than let their fellow Muslims in wealthy countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc take them in. BTW - not all Germans civilians were members of the NAZI party in World War II - same for Japanese civilians who weren't supporters of Tojo but that didn't stop the US and UK from bombing them into oblivion. And just who won that war?

Because they know that the world of public opinion will bargain for them.
There is an endless supply of hostages in the world.
It is the terrorist business model.

The hostages were taken for this specific reason.
It was all planned beforehand.
They will trickle out 10 or 15 hostages at a time over promises of a ceasefire and if the Israeli's refuse to fall for this again, it is Israel who will be touted as the evil one by the Hamas loving media. The negotiations will take weeks and the over 200 hostages 10 at a time will give them months of ceasefire.

They won’t release Americans until Biden turns against Israel. I bet they have it all planned.

The Palestinians are Hamas. Hamas are the Palestinians. There is no difference. Until there is no more Hamas, the Israelis are in danger. It's not rocket science. Pro-Palestinians are Pro-Hamas. This is not rocket science. Israel's solution is there will no longer be a Gaza. Gaza will be reincorporated into the State of Israel, run by Israel, rebuilt be Israel. Again, this is not rocket science.

In previous exchanges the rate was from 10:1, up to 150:1, so The Palestinians are the ones actually setting the "Industry Standard" for what constitutes "Proportionality". But they are doing this dribs&drabs a dozen at a time deal with every intention of cheating as they go. There will be days where they release too few...or none...yet insist that the cease fire by Israel be maintained, there will also be days when they fire on Israel and demand Israel not fire back.
IF they maintained the 10 hostages per day rubric they can get 24 days...expect them to stretch it out much further.
My concept of what is "Proportional" is closer to what Assad established in the city of Hama, or Hussain of Jordan established when Hamas became a threat inside of Palestinian Jordan. 20,000:1 or 70,000:1, or perhaps the proportion Hamas itself established withing Gaza as far as the proportion of Jews allowed, or Fatah allowed... -0-. Even the West Bank areas expelled nearly all Hamas, Lebanon refused to allow exiled Hamas into the country proper, confining them to tents within the border buffer zones.
Meanwhile Turkey is forming a flotilla of up to 1000boats to attempt a Gaza landing or Israeli port blockade, many of the chartered boats filled with US and Europeans, all with cameras no doubt, (as well as Lawyers).
Hamas had exceeded ALL of it's borrowing capacity, Banks were refusing new loans, and Hamas was defaulting on even the interest payments, foreign grants were being trimmed down or withheld because of non-compliance, Methinks THIS "New" war is just a pathway to a Great Re-Set for them, where existing loans get written off and International groups will start writing new ones to "Re-build" the devastation on "Humanitarian Grounds", while Hamas gets to trim their overhead by losing several thousands of people from their welfare rolls.(Biden alone has already proposed gifting them 3 times their annual GDP in a lump sum...just as a start)

Rabbi Michael Barclay is correct. The thousand of Palestinians going back North are not “innocent civilians” at all. They are simply Hamas terrorists and supporters without physical weapons. These “civilians” are not forced human shields being abused by Hamas, they are willing and active cogs in the Hamas war effort, willing to die for their cause of destroying Israel and repeating the horrors of October 7.

If Hamas is moving civilians back into Northern Gaza, that means Israel doesn't even control all the roads going into the region. Block the roads so nobody gets back in. Hopefully, Israel will find ways to use the cease fire to their advantage just like Hamas is.

74% of all Palestinians voted for HAMAS to control Gaza! At the very least 74% of Palestinians DESERVE to die!
