It's no secret that for years, the Drudge Report drove conservative (and often mainstream) media news cycles. If Drudge was talking about it, you could bet everyone from Rush Limbaugh to Fox News to PJ Media was also discussing it. In fact, there was a symbiotic relationship between Drudge's aggregated links and the pages of most conservative media outlets. Pretty much everyone was either getting story prompts from Drudge or sending him stories (often via AOL Instant Messenger) hoping he'd link them. A Drudge link day was always a good one

I never bother to go to the site, any more. One thing is clear: Many, many millions of dollars are floating around that come from who-knows-where to fund anything and everything to the far left. I suspect that "apolitical" Drudge was made an offer he didn't refuse and is probably sitting on his own private beach somewhere drinking Pina Coladas mixed with conservative tears. Very disappointing.

It’s no mystery to me. They hacked his personal computer and found embarrassing or maybe illegal stuff. They blackmailed him to switch sides. We all knew he had a “secretive” personal life anyway.

I will always be grateful to Drudge for one thing - his site was where I first found Lucianne.com.

I used to be assured of getting at least 800,000 hits from Drudge the many times he linked to me. But now when the site links to me, I am lucky to get a few thousand. His site has become a hollow shell of what it once was.

#4 has it. I now begin and end my day with my beloved Lucianne. I left Drudge as soon as he obviously sold it. Traitor!

I've been to drudge twice in the last 4 years.
I see no point. If I want left wing aggregated news I can go to cnn.

I did a technical expose on Drudge back in the mid 1990's...seems he was using auto reloads of his page every several minutes and that was tracked to his puffing up hits to his web site...I suspect lots of web pages do the same thing and the advertisers think they are reaching lots of folks when in fact it's all fake!

Drudge was on my daily list in the late 90's and early 2000's, right up there with Lucianne. Then he sold out to the dark side. Haven't been back since. The article says 2019 but it was way earlier than that.

I suppose if you were a political operation that had contacts with a organization that recruited and trained young girls to willingly comply with every hidden wish of politically influential men (or women) you might find out what the particular tastes of a man that you wanted to influence. Then you could probably find a 12 year old girl that looked 18 and train her and point her at that man. Then with the pictures and secretly obtained videos persuade him to follow your agenda. Particularly if you could get them together in a location where they usually sentence pedophiles to life imprisonment in the general prison population.

Article is click bait.
As for drudge, he had been my homepage from the time of Lewinsky until he switched teams. Drudge and Lucianne were my only news feeds for all those years.

I met Matt Drudge once and tried to make small talk when he was standing alone at a small social gathering. He clammed up, and mumbled something and walked off.
Incredibly shy?
Just unwilling to talk?
Certainly extremely odd.
I've met a few other fairy public figures, none acted like Drudge.
All the rest were friendly and outgoing, easy to chat with.

Drudge was the pioneer who discovered a whole new world. As in history, pioneers are seldom also the visionaries who lead people there. I’m grateful for Drudge who opened the door. Others are now leading the way.

#12 and #16 have it right. No secrets, nothing dirty, or even little. This article could have been written years ago. I would like to know what really did happen, though. It seems to be part of the insidious corruption of the MSM.

What an duh understatement.
"it's not just the Left that's hurting our bottom line with their Big Tech censorship and demonization. Sometimes, the hits come from inside the house."

So what's the secret? That Drudge turned on Trump for some reason or another back in 2019? What was the reason? The sale of Drudge (or not)? That Drudge wanted to be in with the cool kids on the left?
Lots of questions with flimsy answers.
