Former Trump attorney Sidney Powell pleaded guilty Thursday morning in the Georgia election interference case on the eve of her trial alongside co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro.
Powell entered her guilty plea in Fulton County Superior Court, part of a deal reached with prosecutors, in which she pled guilty to six misdemeanor counts. In her plea, Powell agreed to serve six years of probation and pay a $6,000 fine and $2,700 in restitution to the state of Georgia. She also agreed to submit an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia and to testify at related court proceedings.
Powell was one of 19 defendants

Typical. Plead guilty to this or we'll ruin you with financial costs by charging you with everything in the book. She ain't guilty in my book. Just a victim of the police state banana republic which is the Disunited States of America

Better than going to jail while you appeal the bogus proceeding and being killed by an inmate before the decision is handed down. That's the Dim way.

So, $8700 in court costs and a guesstimate of $50,000 in legal fees she has incurred to date plus travel expenses to/from court house are Sidney’s direct costs. Six years of probation should only apply to her work in GA, a state she can avoid.
Real cost will be having to testify in Trump’s trial in 2024. If she testifies in Trump’s favor, can her probation be withdrawn, subjecting her to more persecution? If she testifies against Trump, she’ll be admitting that she was part of the group that urged then President Trump to violate election laws, which harms her as a consultant. Finally, Powell’s guilty plea eliminates her ability to sue for wrongful arrest and her ability to act as a defense witness for Trump when Trump testifies and when Trump sues the local prosecutor.

Another good example of how our plea bargaining system is used to coerce confessions out of innocent people. Plea bargaining needs limits placed on it so you can't be forced cop a plea for time served just to avoid being financially ruined and threatened with life imprisonment. It does not appear to me that many of our lawyers or judges understand justice as a concept.

A plea deal is a sober calculation. The likely pain being threatened vs the cost of the guaranteed escape being offered. The deal calculated in her favor. Period.
And unless she she's harboring a kraken someplace she is blown as an election objector anyway. Seems to be a victim of a malinformation psy ops. There was massive election cheating in swing states. There was no CIA battle for servers. Biting on the latter negates you on the former.
One day perhaps shell document it all for us. God bless Sidney Powell.

But look at it this way. She gets no jail time and pleads only to misdemeanors. I don't know what testimony she agreed to but she is on record as saying the election was stolen and that voting machines were manipulated.

What’s she going to testify to? That Trump wanted recounts and wanted the voter fraud investigated? Powell’s career is over anyway. Who would hire a lawyer who does this?

Try not to over read this. The only thing Powell pled guilty to was receiving information from one county’s voting machines without authorization to do so. She did not plead guilty to any of the substantive charges against Trump, and her testimony would likely be very unhelpful to the prosecution, to the extent if they could get any at all, in light of the attorney-client privilege. I think Sydney did the rational thing, and all in all it is yet another embarrassment for the Persecution.

This plea deal is like the one they gave to General Mike Flynn; plead guilty or we will go after your family (Mike's son). General Flynn had to sell his house to pay for his attorneys, (some who had sold out to Obama). So the government has millions/billions of dollars to destroy an American citizen, but an American citizen has to sell all their assets to protect themselves.
What a country we live in!!!

She did what she had to do to save her life's work and give the corrupt judges what they wanted....well...not very much...but the judges were hoping to discourage President Trump....like that's happening.....it's all a political game to the rats...and President Trump isn't playing ball..he's as strong as ever...and he has more than half of America with him....I'll bet it's even more now after the attack on Israel.....

When Georgia responds that there is no way to cell phone track those filling ballot drop boxes on security camera streams in the middle of the night and they do nothing about the evacuated State Farm Arena ballot counting again in the middle of the night, they know we know what this is. The State Police handing out a $1 million dollar speeding ticket confirms my opinion.
