One person has died at Burning Man in Nevada amid a weekend of rain and mud which has seen festivalgoers forced to shelter in place.
The Pershing County Sheriff's Office in northern Nevada said the death happened 'during this rain event' but gave few other details as to what the cause was, or the person's identity.
'As this death is still under investigation, there is no further information available at this time,' the sheriff's office said in a statement on Saturday night.

Everyone there will blame you and me for Climate Change, and then they will drive away in their campers and fly away in their private jets. This is a coda for life in present day America.

Pigs love to wallow in mud so all these degenerates should be overjoyed. By the way isn't the name of this recreation of Sodom and Gomorrah, Burning Man, totally sexist? Where is the outrage from the LGBQTXYZ activists? Brings up the question is the Burning Man Trans?

After the damage to the Playa, maybe the Feds will grow a pair and deny this pack a permit for next year. Then, the Burners will have to find another location for their annual bacchanal.

That sand is so dry and loose it will soak up the water in a day or two after the rain stops. I got hit in an 8" storm in a neighboring state and we drove out the next day, though some of the roads were bad.
Would love to go to a Burning Man but am getting a bit old for that sort of thing.

I appear to have a different take on this. It reminds me of the disaster in Maui where the powers that be will not allow people to leave a dangerous situation. I’m not a supporter of Burning Man, but I am a fan of allowing people to escape potentially deadly circumstances.

Global cooling.....no matter how many times they claim "MMGW" is coming, reality insists on doing what the sun and orbit of the planet are doing, and have been doing for billions of years.

Actually, the Climate Changers were disbursed and arrested for blocking the road into Burning man at the start. The attendees tried to tear down the roadblock before the cops showed up.

Burning Man is a useless, tasteless, wasteful event, the very antithesis of culture, manners and common sense. Leave to crazies to turn a desert party into an apocalyptic social event devoid of any meaningful purpose. Kinda like a Sturgis for liberals.

It looks like they are in a (dry) lake bed, what do you expect was going to happen when it rains a little bit? Might take a while to dry out.

I get not letting more people in, but those with the vehicles capable of leaving should do so. I saw a lot of large 4x4 trucks in that line going in. More of the lock-down mentality.

My guess would be intoxication caused hypothermia. Soaked to the bone in a howling rain storm will suck the heat out of anyone!
