It wouldn't be a 'total shock' if President Joe Biden ended his 2024 reelection campaign by the end of the year, noted a biographer with enhanced access to the White House. Author Franklin Foer said Sunday that he found during his time with Biden and his inner circle that 'one of the primary insecurities' of the President 'is that he does not want to be perceived as stupid.' Biden, 80, announced in late April his bid for a second term with Vice President Kamala Harris – but questions have emerged in the last year over whether the President is too old or too unfit to serve for four more years.

Existing abortion-related lawsuits are moving again through the courts now that voters have decided the issue, raising questions about implementation.
The amendment declared an individual’s right to “make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions” and passed with a strong 57% majority. It was the seventh straight victory in statewide votes for supporters of abortion access nationally since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned constitutional protections.
The percentage of voters who believe in the American dream, the idea that working hard brings more success, has dramatically decreased over the past decade, according to a poll published on Friday.
About a third of voters, 36%, said the once-popular ethos holds true, per the poll, which was conducted in October by the Wall Street Journal and University of Chicago. That is roughly half of the percentage who believed in the American dream last year, the Wall Street Journal found. Similar polls found that a majority of voters, 53%, believed in the American dream in 2012 and that 46% believed in it in 2016.

City Hall is pushing back against a sexual assault claim against Mayor Eric Adams, insisting he does not even know his accuser.
The unidentified female accuser filed a summons in civil court late last night, accusing Adams of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when they were both working for the city. It was first reported by The Messenger.
At the time, Adams was 33 and working as a captain within the NYPD. Details of the allegations have not yet been made public but a City Hall spokesperson told The New York Post today Adams doesn't know the woman.
