‘Become Indian:’ University of California
Prof Who Claimed to Be Native American Resigns

Original Article

A prominent scholar and University of California, Riverside professor, who claimed to be Native American, has resigned after 13 faculty members accused her of false claims of Native identity that violated academic integrity. In an ironic twist, professor Andrea Smith once criticized white feminists for pretending to be Native Americans. She wrote, “They do this by opting to ‘become Indian.’ In this way, they can escape responsibility and accountability for white racism.”

Sooo . . how much 'Indian blood' does it require to be Indian? I have one Indian ancestor from 10 generations back (really) - does that make me an Indian? BTW -You've probably heard of her. Her name was Matoaka, nicknamed Pocahontas. So am I an Indian? Or do you have to be enrolled? I have another great-great grandmother who was a Choctaw, at least she said she was. She missed the deadline for enrollment and was denied. So am I an Indian? I've never claimed to be, but heck . . . I've more claim than any of the liars who have used it for personal advancement.

She should lose her accrued pension (if only the 15 years stated in the article would be at a minimum 15 x 2% = 30% of her highest pay), but they must have something to hide or they would not have agreed to the following: FTA: The separation agreement includes a stipulation that avoids an investigation into the complaint. Smith can continue working at the university, where she will still be allowed to teach classes, until August 2024. The professor will also retain her retirement benefits, and will have the honorary emeritus title, but that status will not be listed in the school’s directory. University of California, Riverside will also pay up to $5,000 toward her legal costs of resolving the complaint. Meanwhile, some Native scholars have pointed out that Smith has not acknowledged her deception, and that the university has allowed the professor to avoid taking any accountability for her actions by agreeing to not look into the matter.

In what's been called a landmark victory for parental rights, a California school district has settled for $100,000 with a mother who said her daughter was "socially transitioned" to a boy without parental knowledge or consent. Jessica Konen said her 11-year-old daughter, Alicia, was told by her school in the Spreckels Union School District in Monterey County that she may be upset because she didn’t know who she "truly was inside." From there, the school allowed her to use the boy’s bathroom, used male pronouns to refer to her and was "socially transitioned" away from her biological gender. The number one problem Joe Biden faces going into his re-election bid is the economy. It stinks. A majority of Americans think it stinks. Almost every previous presidential election was based on the voter’s perspective on the economy. Ronald Reagan’s question still haunts all incumbents: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The pandemic and the economic fallout from business closings, supply chain disruptions, and $5.2 trillion in government spending — which led to a painful spike in inflation — have made the Reagan question somewhat irrelevant. The economy has come roaring back to almost where Trump left it. But people’s perspective on the economy is still clouded.
