A district judge appointed by Joe Biden has ruled that parents in Montgomery County, Maryland, have no right to opt their children out of the school’s woke LGBTQ curriculum.
United States District Judge Deborah L. Boardman ruled against the Muslim-led group of parents who did not want their children exposed to far-left propaganda about sex and gender.
The parents sought an injunction before the first day of school on August 28 after the district changed its policies in March to no longer allow parents to opt their children out of being assigned books that advocate pride parades, gender transitioning, and pronoun preferences for kids as young as pre-kindergarten.

This Judge is not dealing with panty waist liberal guilt trip ridden chiken Sh-tuff Montgomery County white folks here. She is dealing with Muslims, and for once I agree with he Muslims and perhaps they will do something to hold her accountable for this stupid decision.

When one is dealing with Islam...
The usurper in chief might have to appoint a new judge for that district pretty soon.

Home school and take back our schools at the ballot box. That is the only way forward. We cannot trust the courts and cannot afford the necessary appellant route to the Supremes.

School vouchers will only spread the contagion to private schools. Look at colleges and universities today. Only twenty two colleges in the country have refused all government aid and are free to avoid federal indoctrination mandates. Once the federal gives one cent to a school, even if it’s in the form of student aid to a poor child, the government declares ownership of all aspects of the curriculum and forces compliance.
Marylanders are paying for the public schools and should not have to fork over more money to send their children to private schools to avoid indoctrination in private and political matters. Neither judges nor the Dept. of Education own those schools nor does the federal government. They are mostly paid for by states and local communities. Let those communities decide what is appropriate to teach beyond the three r’s.

Time to send kids to private schools or home school them. Go on a property tax strike to defund the schools.

Unless this has been revised in the past 70 years United Nation Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Dec. 1948 says...'Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.'

Our schools were mostly good when they were that age. They are in their forties now and last year they pulled our youngest granddaughter out of public school and sent her to a private Christian school. It was expensive but the best thing they ever did. It was a financial stress but your children are the future. If you have to, give up that vacation or new car. It can be done if you really want to. I put four kids through college with one small loan while making an extremely small salary. It can be done if you are willing to make some sacrifices.

The sooner parents fight back with homeschooling and homeschooling cooperatives, the faster this garbage will wither on the vine. Anyone with decency and an interest in the future generations of kids should be willing to invest a little time and effort. There are lots of non-woke Christian teachers out there who are unemployed.

The Judge says that the school board’s no opt-out policy is not likely to be a constitutional violation, and adds that “the balance of equities and the public interest favor denying the injunction.”
This just indicates that she is another socialist judge who thinks she gets to decide what is equitable and what is in the public interest. It makes one wonder if these judges even bother to consult the constitution.

Actually there are three options for Maryland residents.
Opt out of Maryland public schools by using a private or church school.
Opt out of Maryland public schools by homeschooling.
Opt our of Maryland public schools by moving to another state.
If you choose to send your children to Maryland public schools you have given your children to the state for their schooling.

This is the tyranny of the Government-Education Complex, wherein the Department of Education mandates something be taught, which then gets passed down to the States, who quickly gobble it up, lest they lose monies entitled to them, unless they comply.
The Department of Education MUST be disbanded.

#26’s comment was probably tongue in cheek but it does happen. My daughter attended a Catholic girl’s school in Frederick, Maryland for 8 years. There was one Muslim student. The nuns let her wear her hijab but they also made her attend mass every day. Sometimes truth IS stranger than fiction.

The courts had no business even taking on this case and allowing the judge to rule based on her personal opinion. Specifically what law were these parents breaking? This should be appealed.

The rats have to appease the teacher's union if they want more donations for 2024...so they'll sell out your children all in the name of power and greed....but...Mamma bear and Papa bear are not to be tangled with...parents have every right to control their children's lives...not the government with the blessings of Washington DC...so send your drag queens to another venue ...school libraries are not the proper place for obscene books and suggestive attire....

If we disband the National Board of Education, we could accomplish two things: first, education would go back locally, second, the demon-rats wouldn't receive money (laundering/kickbacks) of the Teachers Unions across the nation. And nasty Randi Weingarten would lose her job. What a wonderful day that would be.

Curriculum is not the correct word. LGBTQ Indoctrination is what is going on here. It is pushing the LGBTQ dogma into the minds of children that are too young to know that it is not truth, but is propaganda. When authority figures tell boys they should want to girls and girls they should want to be boys enough times, they will come to believe it without question. Parents have a perfect right to protect their children from.people wanting to screw around with their minds.
It is no wonder reading and math scores are in the toilet when time is instead squandered on LGBTQ garbage.
