Mike Pence explains why he favors sending more money and weapons to Ukraine, telling FNC's Shannon Bream that it won't take "that long" to defeat Russia. "Joe Biden said in his State of the Union address that we're there as long as it takes... I'm going to tell you, it shouldn't take that long," Pence said during an interview on "FOX News Sunday" (full interview here). "I really do believe that what we need is to provide the resources, the -- the equipment, the missiles, the aircraft that Ukraine needs to repel that Russian invasion in a much more rapid pace than the Biden administration has done."

Why is it in our country's interest to "defeat the Russians?" No doubt Russian is in the wrong here but unless a coalition including Europe is willing to embark on what could be WWIII, there is nothing we can or should do. Sending money with no oversight is just giving Zelensky a way out if thing go south.

Russia knew they couldn't win quickly when the western nations started throwing billions of dollars of money and weapons behind the Ukrainians. So Russia switched to a war of attrition. While Ukraine may have an endless supply of weapons and money coming from the west, Russia has 6+ times the population of Ukraine. Ukraine will run out of fighting-aged men long before the Russians do. That is just simple math. Then the west will have to decide if they want to make this a true World War 3 and put boots on the ground (at which time Russia goes nuclear almost immediately), or give up this folly at the cost of countless military men on both sides, as well as countless Ukrainian civilians. I'm not anti-war in any way. But I am anti-totally-useless-war that costs American taxpayers billions of dollars!!!!!! And this has been about as useless a war as will ever be fought. The USA had no obligations or treaties calling on us to support Ukraine. But the Demon-Rats and sewer dwelling RINO's love a good useless war to throw tax dollars at, so it was inevitable...

Pence is an idiot. Suggesting Russia can be defeated easily, which of course means killing lots of people, is not an intelligent move when your main opponent promises to bring an end to it if elected. Pence represents the arrogance of many of our politicians weaned on the dollar printing press and overwhelming military prowess. We can pay for it so we have the right blow up anybody we want. Pence should be concerned about the 60,000 deaths every year due to illegal drugs, not killing people in Ukraine.

Pence should know that Russia has a long history of getting beat up at the beginning of past armed conflicts and then rebounding back to win those wars. Right now in Ukraine the conflict may well be nearing the end of the beginning. We will have to wait and see what happens, but it looks like the DC establishment is going to spend untold billions of US taxpayer’s dollars through the military-industrial complex and the Ukrainian Government before the war ends that could have been used to help needy Americans.

A federal appeals court ruled against Mississippi’s permanent voting ban for certain felons, going against Supreme Court precedent in doing so. (snip) Judge Edith Jones countered in a dissenting opinion that the majority ruling itself contradicted the Constitution and reflected judicial activism. (snip) Jones also cited the Supreme Court precedent set in the 1974 case Richardson v. Ramirez, which determined that felon voting bans don’t violate the Equal Protection Clause. In that case, the court ruled that the question of handling voting rights for felons should be hashed out in a legislative forum, and that it wasn’t for their court to “choose one set of values over another.”

Former White House chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that there were “a number of studies that show that masks actually do work” to stop the spread of COVID-19. Anchor Jon Karl said, “There’s a new study out that suggests that masks were actually not effective, at least not in a global sense, in containing the pandemic. What is your sense looking back at all of this? Did masks prove to be less effective than you anticipated?” Fauci said, “You know, Jon, some of the studies are confusing. The study that has been quoted a lot and causing a lot of confusion is this Cochrane Study

Stephen King just published his most recent horror novel, Holly. Disappointing does not begin to describe it. Do not purchase Stephen King’s Holly if your goal is to be entertained. This book is a poisonous political diatribe from beginning to end. King, America’s premier storyteller of the past 50 years, has never hidden his left-wing political bias. But before the mess that is Holly, King kept himself in check, never making politics central to his story nor demonizing those who do not share his ideology by using fact patterns unmoored from any sort of reality. With Holly, King has jumped the shark.

The concept of the state delivering cash payments as reparations to the descendants of enslaved African Americans is opposed by California voters by a 2-to-1 margin, a poll released Sunday reveals. (snip) Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers created California’s Reparations Task Force in 2020 with the goal of establishing a path to reparations that could serve as a model for the nation. (snip) Reparations for black residents in California are forecasted to cost $800 billion — more than twice the cost of the state’s entire annual budget, but activists say that is not enough.
