In reporting on a Montana case in which a judge ruled that the state had to include the climate effect of oil and gas permits before deciding on them, the Associated Press showed just how brain-dead the discussions of “global warming” have become.
District Court Judge Kathy Seeley ruled in favor of several young plaintiffs – ranging in age from 5 to 22 – saying they “have a fundamental constitutional right to a clean and healthful environment, which includes climate as part of the environmental-support system.”
As proof of the harm the plaintiffs are suffering, the order has a list of horribles that includes:

The judge in question was elected to preside over the Montana state judicial district encompassing Broadwater and Lewis & Clark Counties, and her jurisdiction extends no further than the borders of those two counties. She is a left-wing lunatic whose ruling is so absurd that it has been ridiculed as a clown show by observers. That this is being trumpeted as some sort of monumental victory by the "environmental rights" crowd is merely a sign of their desperation as well as the utter corruption of the media who have made this molehill into some kind of mountain . Relax, it's not going to result in any action once the furor has died down.

“Olivia expressed despair due to climate change.”
“Badge is anxious when he thinks about the future that he, and his potential children, will inherit.”
“Grace … is anxious about climate change.”
“Mica gets frustrated when he is required to stay indoors during the summer because of wildfire smoke.”
Would that be the smoke from wildfires set by eco-terrorists to produce just these results?
Should Mica be told he's "suffering" from his friends eco-terrorist attacks?

"Established a government duty to protect citizens from climate change".
Stunning in it's arrogant, blind stupidity. But, everything that the government does these days is similarly described....arrogant, blind stupidity.
1) IF the climate is changing, there is absolutely nothing humans can do to stop it.
2) There is absolutely NO factual evidence that shows that human activities have any effect on climate.
3) Weather is NOT "climate", and I argue that any observations of less than two or three centuries duration are NOT climate at all, but only weather.
Climate is the average of a century or two's weather. We don't even have temperature measurements over any wide geographic area for two centuries, since the thermometer, which for a long time was only a laboratory instrument, was only invented about 300 years ago.

How sad for these young children to have been used and manipulated in such a way as to have such "concerns" at their ages.
Unfortunately, the truth won't sink into their skulls because they've been indoctrinated into believing what they're told.
And, this is why Democrats focus on "climate change" since it resonates with so many of their constituents despite having not actual evidence to support their theory.
They've convinced so many that anyone who doesn't believe in "climate change" is a denier, and wrong, should be opposed, but mostly voted out of office.

FTA: "...climate as part of the environmental-support system.”
Beyond asinine, I can't even make any sense out of this phrase. So maybe it's the environmental-support system (whatever the H that is) that is broken, not the climate?

'Asinine' doesn't begin to describe it! They seem to have a list of judges that will agree with the stupid basis for any lawsuit. I'm embarrassed for my state.

I cringe when I hear the phrase "Climate Change" (formerly Global Cooling, then Global Warming). You know, people 100-years from now are going to look back at these times and say "how stupid WERE those people, to believe that nonsense".

We don't need no stinking Badge!

From the AP article: "... A government duty to protect citizens from climate change."
At the risk of repeating myself, the only good AP was Arnold Palmer.

Great article but a minor quibble. The Earth has been in an ice age for the last 1.8 million years. Periods of very cold climate and massive glaciation last, as written in the article, about 100k years with about 10k years 'inter regnums'. (We ARE approaching a predictable end to warm climate if history is our guide. But past performance is no...etc) Our ice cores from Greenland go back almost 500k years and, yes, they document five ice 'ages'.... but, obviously, there were more. Why do they document only 5?
Because somewhere over 400k years back Greenland had no ice.
Put that in your Cuisinart and set it to puree.
