Some of China’s biggest automakers are looking to skirt United States tariffs and flood the nation’s auto market with cheap Electric Vehicles (EVs) — a move that would further crush American auto workers and the domestic plants where they work.
According to Automotive News, Chinese-owned Volvo Cars is hoping to use the little-known Duty Drawback Program to “recoup import duties and the 25 percent U.S. tariff assessed on the Chinese-made Volvo EX30 crossover and Polestar 2 sedan against exports of the U.S.-made Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3 crossovers.”
General Motors (GM) has been using the Duty Drawback Program for years to mitigate United States tariffs on its Chinese-made Buick Envision Crossover.

Man, are they in for a shock. No pun intended. There's just too many people in America who simply cannot own an electric car. From the simple fact they live somewhere that they cannot plug their car in to recharge overnight.

Forget about Biden straightening this situation out, as by now it is common knowledge that he will take an under the table kickback if such a payment is offered through a “bag man”. But why is the Congress allowing the Communist Chinese to get away with evading US financial sanctions? Unfortunately if you were to look closely, chances are you will find that the Congress passed a law or waiver that is allowing the Chinese to evade US sanctions.

Yeah, EVs that nobody will buy. They can rot on the sales lot.

"Chinese-made Buick Envision Crossover". That statement should make you want to gag. I loved GM for my 57 Chevy. But today GM has become nothing than another American company that has "sold out". Soon they will be sending boat loads of vehicles of the quality and usefulness of a Yugo or Vega. This will be a "New Coke" moment for the American public. The Ford Motor Company is learning its lesson right now. Evs hurt your company, not help it.

Nobody is buying. There are tens of thousands of unsold Chinese EVs parked in fields all over China. Nobody in China wants them either.

4, I don't know about their other lines but my GM was built at their plant in Kentucky by Americans. My Tesla was built in California by Americans.
Support your county, buy things made here when they exist.

No wonder Democrats are cheering for the end of U.S. automakers, they want to replace our cars with those made in Communist Red China using slave labor.
Nothing to see here, move along.

They'll be stacked up here just like they're stacked up there. No one will buy them.

Don't these vehicles need to be unloaded at US ports? This might be the one event where Petey Boy shows up in person to make sure that gets done.

The Chinese EVs have a tendency to go up in flames at a moments notice. Own at your own risk. You may be barbequed Chicom style.

There is no US market for these glorified golf carts. For most people here in Texas, driving distances are too great to make them practical.

For over a decade we have been on a “Made in China” boycott in this house. And that now includes cars.
There’s an old saying which applies here - you can bring a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

Now that they've got China Joe on a leash, they are going all out to destroy our auto industry AND our electrical grid at the same time. No need to risk a counter-attack by lobbing nukes at us. This is much, much easier and safer for them.

I don't care if they're giving these things away. I don't want one for the simple fact that they're fire hazards. We've had two car carrying ships destroyed due to electric vehicles catching on fire. One 40 grand car has destroyed vehicles whose total worth is more than 100 million.

If Americans had any sense, which I am beginning to doubt while observing what is going on with our White House and its cabinet, they simply would not buy them.
