I've been a fan of Ron DeSantis for a long time, given the great job he's done as Florida governor and the results of it leading to Florida becoming a red state.
I've been willing to overlook his errors, e.g., too much emphasis on the trans issue, the extended fight with Disney, the flip-flopping on Ukraine, the idiots on his campaign staff, the ill-timed and unwinnable campaign against President Trump -- because his successes outshine these stumbles.
But he's gone over to the dark side in his recent remark that the election of 2020 was fraud-free.

2024 was never going to be DeSantis' year. Whoever advised or convinced him to run this year is an idiot. My bet is that tons of NeverTrump RINOs have been whispering in his ears and he was unable to resist their promises of money and fame.
Kinda sad. IMO, he's a great Florida governor, and has done a LOT to help the state. But this campaign has been a bad idea and a loser from the start, and his advisors and campaign people are fools and idiots.

DeSaintis was told to moderate his views and he has done so with gusto! Unfortunately, we all know what he is saying now is just a bunch of bunk. Is he even a man of his own convictions, was he ever? If so, he is a fool if he can look at all the fraud recently revealed and believe 2020 was a fair election.
Furthermore, if he is just doing what he is being told that makes him a chump and even less trustworthy. Looks like to me the guy has committed political suicide and for what? To please some globalist overlord donor who hates that President Trump intends to put this country first instead of catering to the donor class. Looks like to me the donors believe that they can get rid of PDT with the help of the democrats and wanted to get rid of the guy who at one time was primed to be his successor or he was a sleeper candidate all along. Either way, he has been used and the GOPe will dump him like a piece of trash. I seriously thought he was smart than this.

I am beginning to believe that the GOP has decided to forfeit the 2024 election. With the corruption and fraud committed by this administration, one is not seeing a serious response to this from anyone in the House or Senate. With the continued politicization of the DOJ against Trump one is not seeing Republican Leadership come to his defense nor stop these banana republic tactics. Looking at the list of candidates other than Trump it is truly pathetic. I do not believe anyone thinks DeSantis can win the Presidency so this is simply a ploy to divide the GOP and I suspect originally devised to keep Trump from getting the nomination. It is still early so anything can happen BUT again I am starting to believe that the Donors and Office holders in the GOP have no desire to win the next election.

I WAS a big fan of DeSantis - make that WAS as in past tense. I am uncertain whether I'll ever think highly of him again enough to vote for him in a national election.

Writer of this article is stating the obvious to anyone paying attention. I have trouble trusting anyone who does a 180 in their political views. Especially at the behest of a mega donor. Shows me he will do anything for money. We’ve already got one of the residing in the White House right now.

Someone on a channel I was watching made the comment that DeSantis is ruining his chances for a 2028 presidential run as well as for 2024. I hadn't thought of that, but it makes so much sense. Just as Pence has ruined his chance for president. DeSantis is doing the same thing now.

Honestly, his level of political naïveté is simply astonishing. Combine that with the Casey factor and it’s amazing he got this far. And, he still doesn’t get it. SMH.

I still favored Trump for President but would have loved DeSantis as his VP no more. I knew when I heard that he was a Jeb! protege. Nope. Nope. Nope.
GW had me fooled...9-11 and perhaps because he was a relief from that odious Obama everything felt like a change for the better but nothing really changed. War and promises but no backbone on anything controversial like social issues.
Since experiencing a real, brave, patriotic man like DJT who has withstood the slings and arrows every single day since he came on the scene, and is still standing, for US, despite the horrible, slander against him. I cannot think of anyone else who would or could endure it all.We OWE this guy. He is sadder but wiser now. I remember Rush saying that Trump was actually a bit naive when he came to office. He really believed that, in the end, those in Washington wanted what was best for the country. What an eyeopener that must have been.

I have no patience for cheat deniers. We don't have to talk about it, but if you do, and you deny it took place I have no use for you. Period.
I have no patience for anyone denying facts I see w my own eyes.

#8: “He (PDT) is sadder but wiser now. I remember Rush saying that Trump was actually a bit naive when he came to office. He really believed that, in the end, those in Washington wanted what was best for the country. What an eyeopener that must have been.”
Exactly, #8. I think that is true of many of his supporters as well. It is certainly true of me. I’m embarrassed that I actually believed & defended many of the Republicans, & some Democrats, who have proved themselves so unworthy of the honor of their positions, both recently and over the years. It is especially true of ones no longer in office who have revealed themselves to be opposite of what I had believed of them. There is still a deep sadness, & even a sense of betrayal that they weren’t what I had believed them to be, because of their very convincing deceptions. But, the sense of betrayal isn’t so much to me personally. I think that is true of Donald Trump too. It is almost inconceivable that they have betrayed America and her founding principles. That is the trust and loyalty that has been broken and betrayed. In doing that, they have betrayed each one of us who love the American Ideal. They have betrayed every patriot who has given their lives to defend it. That hurts worse than seeing the ones who have always been disloyal users and abusers of our freedoms go about doing their evil. I always saw them for what they were, & expected no less of them.
Also, the comments about embarrassment or shame of Trump’s “flaws”, & the perception of anything about him disqualifying him to hold such an honorable position as POTUS, are ridiculous in light of the larger character flaws & weaknesses exposed in those who denigrate Trump. His detractors & haters make him look all the more an American hero, imo.

Maybe DeSantis is looking for the democrat vote, because he damn sure wont get the republican vote with stupid statements like this.

Jumped it, then did a level 10 cartwheel of excitement to pound it home. RDS needs to just finish his governor job before he takes on a new task. Jeb Bush and Karl Rove are the ones advising him #1, and this is not being an idiot, this is all according to plan. They deliberately set out to destroy his future candidacy, and they are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams.
