Most members of the US women’s soccer team stayed silent during the national anthem before its World Cup opener Friday against newcomers Vietnam — who passionately belted their nation’s tune.
The majority of the reigning women’s World Cup champion team stared stoically ahead as the “Star Spangled Banner” blasted across New Zealand’s Eden Park arena.
Only five of the 11 players who stood on the field for the anthem — with young, aspiring players standing before them — placed their hands over their hearts, while their six teammates kept their digits clasped behind their backs, video shows. Only three USWNT players — Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher and Lindsey Horan — sang

Joe Biden is obsessed with “firsts” — especially when it comes to naming minorities to positions in his administration. Biden has prioritized “diversity” over almost everything else, including merit, experience, and judging by some of his choices, intelligence (we’re looking at you, Mayor Pete).
So it was no surprise when Biden announced that the new secretary of the Navy would be Adm. Lisa Franchetti — the first woman to lead the Navy and the first female member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The backstory to Franchetti’s nomination, as told by Politico, is that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had two slates of nominees for Biden to examine, including two choices for

DEARBORN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – LGBTQ+ and transgender-supporting Democrats have a Muslim problem in Michigan as the conservative Muslim community pushes back against Democrat-supported LGBTQ legislation and policies.
In Hamtramck, the all-Muslim city council in the only Muslim-majority city in the United States, recently voted unanimously to institute a flag resolution called “Resolution to Maintain and Conform the Neutrality of the City of Hamtramck Towards its Residents.” In the resolution, they prohibit flags of any racial, ethnic, religious or sexual-oriented group on city property.

HUDSON, N.H. — They acknowledge Donald Trump’s dominance, but weary Republicans across New Hampshire — even inside the governor’s office — are fighting to stop the former president from winning the first-in-the-nation primary. For now, however, they’re relying on little more than hope and prayers. Look no further than Mike Pence, Trump’s former vice president, who repeatedly appealed to voters’ faith this week as he tried to resurrect his anemic presidential campaign while courting a few dozen voters in a former state lawmaker’s backyard.

Fox News personalities Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, John Roberts and Piers Morgan have all come out in agreement: In their opinion, Donald Trump should absolutely participate in the first Republican presidential candidates debate of the 2024 cycle, which will be held next month in Milwaukee — and broadcast on their very own Fox News.
The former president has refused to commit to the Aug. 23 debate, and he indicated as recently as Sunday that he’s leaning against it. (“When you have a big lead, you don’t do it,” he told interviewer Maria Bartiromo.)

SCOOP: Ron Gidwitz, an Illinois Republican stalwart who raised funds for Donald Trump and worked in his administration, is endorsing Chris Christie in 2024, saying the former New Jersey governor has executive chops and isn’t afraid to stand up to the former president.
“He knows how to work across party lines, which is terribly important as opposed to having a constant battle between Republicans and Democrats,” Gidwitz told Playbook in an interview about endorsing Christie. “And he’s the only candidate in the race today who seems to have the courage to call out Donald Trump on the campaign trail.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis said the mainstream media has overblown the significance of the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol during an interview Friday with Russell Brand. RON DESANTIS: I think it is ridiculous how much money they pumped in for the Capitol Police. This was not an insurrection. These were people that were there to attend a rally and protest. It devolved into a riot, but the idea that this was a plan to somehow overthrow the government of the United States is not true and it is something the media has spun up to try to get mileage out of it and use it for partisan

Let’s see how many old-timey words for “nonsense” I can squeeze into one article about 56 years of climate change balderdash.
Soap-dodging prairie fairies have been ringing the Chicken Little climate klaxon for at least five decades. That means we are celebrating more than 50 years of “the sky is falling” horsefeathers.
Every climate gloomster has one thing in common: when it comes to their grim predictions for the planet, they’re all batting zero.
A lot of them also seem to ignore actual climate-related emergencies, like the ongoing train derailment trauma in East Palestine, Ohio, where residents suffered vomiting, rashes, nose-bleeds, and bronchitis as they watched their pets and livestock die.

Former President Trump is warning Democrats that the implications of sending him to prison would be for the extremist party, saying it would be very dangerous. During an interview on The Simon Conway Show, Trump was asked how his massive group of supporters would react if the 45th president were behind bars at the hands of the Left’s politically motivated scheme— sparked by Special Counsel Jack Smith.
“I think it’s a very dangerous thing to even talk about,” Trump added, “because we do have a tremendously passionate group of voters, much more passion than they had in 2020 and much more passion than in 2016.

Rodney Thomas, 50, father of Indianapolis Colts safety Rodney Thomas II, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of killing a bald eagle.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, this violates the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
The incident reportedly occurred on May 12 in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Thomas allegedly used an air rifle to kill the bird and turned himself in to authorities soon after the reported shooting.
Local residents told the New York Post that two bald eagles had lived in the area for decades. Now, there’s only one of the protected birds remains.
“This office remains committed to investigating and prosecuting environmental

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said he suspects foul play goes back decades among President Joe Biden's family.
Comer appeared on Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) podcast Verdict in a two-part episode, the second half of which aired Friday. The Kentucky representative took questions surrounding his investigation into the Biden family's business deals abroad, including in China, Russia, and Ukraine. "I'm not shocked about anything," Comer said of the investigation's revelations so far. "I think Joe Biden has been selling access to our enemies for decades."
