For the last, oh, I don’t know… forever… ranchers and farmers large and small have taken care of their livestock with antibiotics and antimicrobials that were available at farm stores. These medicines treat common illnesses and infections that people who own large animals and livestock are very familiar with and qualified to treat. They have been trusted to do so for as long as these medicines have been available. The first chicken antibiotics were introduced in 1948. Since then, there has been no call nor reason to regulate these items. Many farmers and ranchers tend to many of their animals’ veterinary needs,

Worried about AI becoming self-aware and self-perpetuating?
Be afraid, they learned that from bureaucrats.

They be all mad that people were able to self-treat their covid with ivermectin from the farm supply. How are they gonna kill you off if you have access to cures?

Do they actually have this power or are they just making a rule to see what happens in the courts, and how long it will take.

The truth of the matter is NOT farmers and ranchers treating their animals, it is the fact that many of these meds are the same as for human use. The FDA does not want those meds being used on humans instead of going to the doctor and paying a huge premium for buying the stuff the pharmacuetical companies are saying is made "more pure" for human use. The USDA tried to do this several years ago and it didn't fly then. Sounds like they are trying to get the FDA to do it instead. Now does the FDA really have the authority to regulate animal drugs??

Sorry for the 2nd post but I was afraid to say what #8 said. The meds are the same. I recently purchased some Aqua Mox and the pills were identical to the amoxicillin that I had filled for a tooth infection. The exact same pills with the exact same number identification markings on them. Both had one ingredient - amoxicillin. I stocked up a few months ago. If stored properly they are potent for several years. Most of our meds come from China and with our relationship deteriorating - well you put two and two together.

#6, no, they don't. If anyone thinks they do, please specify the part in the limited-powers document called the federal constitution where it gave them that power. I'll wait.........crickets...

Too many lives were saved by veterinary ivermectin in their last bioterror effort, so they are making sure it cant happen again during the next bioweapon attack.
Can't kill millions without preventing access to drugs.

Democrat are control freaks! However, their wretched power hungry bureaucrats are all too eager to do their bidding. Ever wonder how the mustachioed German lunatic ever got men to commit the horrific acts they did? Look no further than a bloated smug and arrogant bureaucracy looking for relevancy. Unfortunately, human nature can be a willing tool for evil under the right circumstances. We have far too many of these willing enforcers in our government.
My apologies to all you good hard working men and women of integrity in government. This was not directed at you.

I get it. Vets have complained to demonrats that their salary is going down so the good demonrats seek to protect them by having the FDA change the rules. All in exchange for campaign donations.

Just think back to how the pandemic™ played out. Trump made one offhand remark about the use of Ivermectin, and the onslaught began. Never in my life had I seen such a pervasive, tyrannical response to ANYTHING!

The increase in cost will hurt farmers but that’s what the government wants. Will now have to pay inflated vet prices for routine care. And its often difficult to get a vet during an animal emergency so more livestock will die.

I don’t think that it’s just about medications. It’s also about making us eat crickets. If ranchers and farmers can’t afford to pay the vet bills, they will quit raising animals and there will be meat (of all kinds), milk and egg shortages - which is all part of the WEF agenda.

This is yet another outrage. It is a blatant attempt to stop people from taking Ivermectin for the Kung Flu. I know that there are farmers, ranchers and hobbiests here on LCom. I would love to hear their take on this.
