Bobby Kennedy Enters The Ring

RFK Jr. announced his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination yesterday. He seeks to wrest it from the presumptive (and presumptuous) Democratic candidate Joe Biden. RCP — not to be confused with RFK — has posted video, clips, and text of Kennedy’s announcement here. I found much to like in the substance and tone of Kennedy’s announcement. I enjoyed his tribute to his wife, Cheryl Hines, and to his family — the quick and the dead. He attacked the merger of state and corporate power. I wish he would expand the attack to woke corporate America. It would complement his professed desire to overcome the divisions

Ummm - - sir - - Mr. Kennedy, sir - - about twenty years ago - - you predicted that it would never snow in D.C. again - - but - - that prediction was followed by the two snowiest years in the District's history - - and it has been snowing regularly there ever since. In light of that reality - - do you wish to withdraw your prediction - - and as a followup question - - are you willing to concede that Gullible Warming is a big fat hoax? Thank you, sir.

If his entrance into the fray serves to weaken Biden, that's a good thing. I disagree with him politically (except for his excellent takedown of the evil Fauci), but he appears to be a sincere person as opposed to the wretched crop of current Democrat America-hating mindless Socialist bomb-throwing scum. He seems like an old school liberal, which means he will never get my vote. He is fighting an uphill battle against what his party has become, and the Deep State's preferred puppet currently illegally infesting the White House.

Probably disagree with him on 95% of issues and would never give him my vote but unlike most Dems he loathes censorship and has focused a bright spotlight on the evil that abides in Fauci and Gates. I give credit where it is due.

Yeah. Saw him on Tucker last night. Remarked to my dear sweet wife that I was concerned that his next breath might be his last. But you know, there's not a lot of difference between guys like RFK Jr. and Trump on the "big issues" of the big government-big business-big media collusion. Like Sun Tzu said, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And maybe this time, RFK Jr. is my friend. I won't be voting for him, but he's my friend.

Actually I think there are a lot of Democrats and Independents that will be drawn to his anti-vax and commitment to protect free speech positions. There is a real desire among some of those constituencies to have at least a semi-sane candidate. I don't think he can win the Democrat candidacy, but if he decides to run as an independent I think he could be a spoiler much like Perot was decades ago. And honestly, I believe he could even pull away some Republican votes too. Those people on the Republican side who say things that demonize every other R candidate except the one they favor are creating exactly that possibility. It's childish, frankly dirt stupid, and counter-productive.

his voice issue is a medical one - so not too cool to blame him for that. if he serves as a disruptor, i'm all for it. also while i don't agree with many of his stances, he's not insane and woke - and he actually believes in his causes. he's not your usual cheesy used-car salesman talking-point Demo. i think it will be interesting.

Appears that President Trump will be easily nominated. So I'll vote in the demoncrap primary. My candidate is the Love Babe. Doubt there will be any dim debates. The candidates have to cross a certain poll threshold to be invited. Any dim, even Fetterman, would be an improvement over Cabbage Head.

The Marriage of the Media and the Security State 0 replies

It is now all too obvious that the corporate media colluded with corrupt elements of the security state to alter the outcomes of two presidential elections. Their first foray into election interference failed because, in 2016, they underestimated the power of social media and allowed Donald Trump to speak directly to the voters. They fixed that problem in 2020 by convincing Facebook and Twitter to censor legitimate news stories while disseminating disinformation. And it is no coincidence that former Obama and current Biden administration officials were involved in both interference schemes.

Here we go again. It seems as if every other election cycle or so for the past few decades has produced dreams of a centrist third party "unity" ticket that would appeal to all the Americans who say they want the partisan bickering in Washington to stop. The Beltway media gets excited at the idea of "the grown-ups" being in charge and the Big Money Boys lick their chops at the prospect of a party based entirely on their needs and their needs alone. This year it looks like the perennial group that calls itself No Labels has decided to throw a monkey wrenchCORRECTION*

The Democratic Party and President Joe Biden are wrecking the country. Their ongoing economic blunders, perverse cultural agenda, and corrupt foreign policy, if unchecked in the near future, will turn the United States into a dystopian nightmare comparable to Venezuela. This can be averted if former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis run together on the 2024 Republican presidential ballot. Neither can win in 2024 without the other, even if the Democratic alternative is an unpopular incumbent whose running mate is a running joke.

They’re all thinking that they’ve “finally got him,” when it comes to former President Donald Trump over the prosecution filed by Alvin Bragg about money allegedly paid to Stormy Daniels.Maher pointed out how America didn’t hold the “sex scandal” against Bill Clinton regarding Monica Lewinsky when it came to voting, and that they seemed to ignore his perjury. Clinton got impeached, but then he still had a high approval rating. Warning for graphic language:

If you bought stock in U-Haul in the past couple of years, your retirement account is probably looking better than a lot of other people’s. (Particularly those who invested in Budweiser.) If it feels like there’s a lot of traffic on the roads these days, particularly along the east coast, it’s not your imagination. And most of that traffic is heading south. In the first three months of 2023, more than ten thousand people fled New York and relocated to Florida. If things keep going at this pace, Ron DeSantis is going to run out of places to put them all. Over the past three years, we reporters learned there were certain things that we weren't allowed to say. Not long ago, in fact, my new video may have been censored. One dangerous idea, we were told, was that COVID-19 might have been created in a lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. That seems very possible, since the institute studied coronaviruses in bats, and America's National Institutes of Health gave the lab money to perform "gain-of-function" research, experiments where scientists try to make a virus more virulent or transmissible. A Washington Post writer worried the lab leak theory "could increase racist attacks against Chinese people and further fuel anti-Asian hate."

The news of former President Donald Trump’s indictment by a Manhattan grand jury has been greeted with unabashed glee by Democrats, corporate media outlets, talking heads, and late-night “comedians.” These people clearly have no idea where this kind of politicized prosecution always leads. Once a ruling regime convinces the citizenry to accept the criminalization of political opposition, the inevitable result is a one-party state that systematically eliminates individual rights. That’s what Trump means when he says: “They’re not after me. They’re after you.”

When a mass murderer shot her way into a Nashville school on Monday and killed six people, most Americans reacted with horror. Gun control advocates, however, viewed it as an opportunity. President Joe Biden, for example, saw the crime as a chance to promote an “assault weapon” ban. Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, responded with a call for gun confiscation. The corporate media pitched in with a spate of stories claiming that mass shootings literally occur on a daily basis in the United States.

On the morning of Election Day last November, William French went to his local polling place in Freeland, Pennsylvania, to cast his vote. But the qualified and registered voter wasn’t allowed to. The disabled U.S. Army veteran was told that the precinct had run out of paper for ballots and he had to come back later in the afternoon. So that’s what he did, returning at 3:30 p.m. But the precinct still didn’t have ballots. Election workers told him to return yet again. But by nightfall, it was too difficult. The Biden administration is reportedly finalizing a proposal that would force fossil fuel-fired power plants to substantially curb emissions or utilize costly carbon capture technology. The proposal — which will soon be released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — is expected to require coal- and natural gas-fired power plants to cut or capture the vast majority of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2040, The New York Times reported on Saturday, citing officials briefed on a draft of the plan. The regulation, if finalized, would represent the first-ever federal action curbing power plant emissions. "EPA cannot comment because the proposals are currently under interagency review,"

Predictably, it was anodyne and obsequious in the extreme, with Biden celebrating how Muslims “decorate their homes, give gifts to loved ones, wear new clothes, and visit family and friends.” The faux president is made to add: “I am moved by the generosity that is shown from families that can provide food and give charity to those in need through Zakat-al-Fitr.” In the course of all this flattery, Biden’s writer drops in a serious note: there is now a U.S. government task force

The fiasco is already of historic proportions, joining New Coke as an example of failing to understand the customers of a brand. How long has it been since we’ve seen women we looked up to, like Golda Meier and Maggie Thatcher, wielding political power?
