The NYPD is beefing up its presence as newly indicted former President Donald Trump is expected to surrender early next week, sources told The Post Thursday.
Prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office — which filed an unprecedented indictment against Trump, 76, related to hush-money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels — wanted him arraigned Friday, sources said. But Trump’s lawyers wouldn’t agree to that and instead, he’ll turn himself in next week, possibly as early as Monday, the sources added.
In a statement, Bragg said his office was in touch with Trump’s legal team on a surrender date.
“This evening we contacted Mr. Trump’s attorney to coordinate his surrender

I get the impression that DJT welcomes arraignment just much as the dims have salivated over the prospect.
He is shrewd and likely has had a plan to take advantage of this dim hubris for some time.

Republicans need to get off the rest bench and get to issuing subpoena's, holding hearings, and drawing up impeachment papers for Biden, and his gang.
The Republican state AG's need to open investigaitons of Democrats, and get grand juries in place. Republican DA's need to get moving. Republican controlled bar associations need to get ethics and disbarment proceedings going against Perkins Coie and other Democrat lawyers. Republicans need to get moving, and a whole lot faster, as they are 6 years behind.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a serious mental disorder. This hideous injustice will only make him stronger.

Surrender is both a strategic move AND a risky gambit.
Refusal to show up for perp walks, forcing "extradition" might be a better move.
Either one will further solidify Trump support, _might_ wake some "Independents" up to what is really going on, what the stakes are.
The ONE thing that MUST be dodged, is that bullet Trump's enemies ache for _disqulification_ (downstream of a "conviction").
This smells of Deep State fear - the worry that even their refined and well-funded cheating might not be enough to rid themselves of Trump one final time.

So, the DA made his move. (Earlier the story of this indictment was sourced with Trump attorneys, prior to official announcement.) Now to see what happens. MAGA Nation will howl, Trump surrogates the same. One can expect a circus when FPDT surrenders. So what's the play? I cannot believe the Dems/libs really want this to continue, given the results of this debacle to now.

this is really a civil matter, where there is no consideration of bail but, of course, we all understand the comedic event we are seeing played but the matter of bail should not be a consideration and our President should be released on Personal Recognizance
the judge will really be marking his spot in history if he doesn't allow for release on Personal Recognizance because it's a civil matter
will be interesting to see the charges as alleged at arraignment - wow, what a mess

so i decided to start campaign donating to Trump immediately when this hapened. However, Winred doesn't show how a US citizen living abroad donates. You have to be in a state or be Armed Forces. I am not going to do anything that is one atom off target, since the Democrats are obviously trying to jail everybody.
Now, the democratic site ActBlue is quick to show how you donate with a foreign address but Winred has no way. Does anybody have contacts at Winred? I will keep trying. Please make them do it. I am not going to cut the least corner, do not tell me to sign up with my remote address or something. No.!!!

Why on earth would he travel to New York to surrender?
If NY wants him, they should have to go to Florida and extradite him. This will cost a fortune in lawyers, let NY pay the cost to bring him from FL.

#11 - It's all about optics. Surrendering sends the implicit message he has nothing to hide or fear. He's taking on his tormentors. The visuals, from arriving in NYC to his walk up the courthouse/police headquarters steps, his mug shot and being fingerprinted, are integral to "The Show" this represents. It's FPDT's stage, and everyone, every media outlet will be focused on him. This is bigger than Capone...and he well knows it. It may not be the trial of the century, but it sure will be the most Spectacular Show on Earth.
