CNN bosses are calling for patience as
views plummet 61% while CEO Chris Licht
tries to rid network of its woke credentials

CNN's leadership is preaching patience even though thousands of viewers are abandoning the network during its attempted turnaround, with no indication yet whether it will pay off. The warning comes just weeks after Discovery boss David Zaslav called out mistakes in new CEO Chris Licht's attempt to rid the network of its 'woke' credentials on top of rumors that Licht might be out of the job by Labor Day. Cable news ratings are down across the board compared to 2022, when Russia's invasion of Ukraine dominated the news.

Licht has an impossible task. Reputations are earned and CNN has rightfully earned its way to near oblivion. While I admit that I scan its online headlines and financial news while well aware of its untruthful bent, I haven't watched its cable or TV broadcasts in decades and cannot fathom ever going back. Print vs online sources aside, media that mistreats half its potential readers or viewers is doomed. The Sulzberger family who own the NY Times clearly doesn't need income from the newspaper because its reputation and revenues are equally in the toilet.

In the past several years there have been 5 or 6 stories about the decline of viewers. If 2 years ago it dropped 80%, 6 months later 50% drop, next announcement 60% drop, eventually there are no viewers. I realize that they will keep CNN, MSLSD, MSDNC, and others on the air, probably funneling Chicom campaign contributions to the networks.

Licht's not very good at his job. If he really wanted to get rid of CNN wokeness, he'd have massive firings of the wokesters. Since that hasn't happened, he's not serious and the powers that be don't want him to get rid of anything. They're just trying to con people into thinking it's happening. At this point, there's no CNN without evil wokeness and America-hating communists running the show.

The article sez: "They include talks with first lady Jill Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and town halls with Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and one focused on the Ohio train derailment." If they want to avoid politicizing the news, this is NOT the way to go. Biden, Zelensky and Youngkin are politicians. Naturally they will have a political bias. Here's a radical idea: Have reporters go around the country and find the news stories. Report them unbiased. Rinse and repeat. Stop injecting politics into the news once and for all. Find some human interest stories. Avoid Hollywood "pundits" -- they're ignoramuses for the most part. And stop being so freaking woke. Give audiences a rest from trans, gay, drag, climate change. We're bored into insensibility about those things. Just the news. How about it?

I remember being a young sailor stationed in Hawaii coming off of the midnight gate guard watch. Instead of going to sleep I spent an hour watching CNN to catch up on the news of the day. That was when James Earl Jones voice bellowed "This is CNN!" The channel was the go-to for 24-hour news. That was the mid to late 80's. CNN started losing its credibility when Dollar Bill Clinton became President, and they became the Clinton News Network. They contrasted themselves with how they covered GWB and Obama. It was like night and day. They lost me during the start of the 21 century and really sank into the media gutter with their coverage of PDJT as even his young son wasn't off limits like Chelsea, Malia and Sasha. I don't know how others feel but for me CNN is dead and can NEVER do anything to get their reputation back.

The last time I watched CNN was during the first Gulf War in 1991 when it was the only cable news channel. I didn’t watch for long because they had anti-American “reporters” broadcasting from Kuwait who were bashing our troops live on the air while the fighting was going on. I was disgusted and horrified by that. And they’ve only gotten worse, much much worse.

It is unclear how much money Hunter has made from his art, but estimates suggest he has earned at least five times more than the average American artist — all while being a novice painter.
