Her name is Abigail Zwerner and she’s the elementary school teacher in Virginia who became national news after she was shot by a 6-year-old on January 6. Zwerner was praised after the shooting because, despite being hit in the hand and the chest, she got all 20 of the kids in her class out of the room before leaving herself. She then spent two weeks in the hospital and has had multiple surgeries. Now she’s given her first interview to NBC News which will be aired in full tomorrow morning.[snip] Zwerner is filing a lawsuit later this month against the school system citing failures to respond to warnings

Comments:

Teacher confiscates kid's cellphone and the little monster threatens her. She tells authorities that he's a danger, but for some reason, the warnings from 3 teachers were ignored.

10% of teachers quit after their first year. 44% of teachers quit after 5 years. Wonder why?

Was the school telling the little boy the answer to his problems was to mutilate himself, take a bunch of hormones and pretend to be a girl? If so, if that is being taught in that school, I have no sympathy.

Un mentioned is the fact the day he brought the gun was the 1st day his parents were NOT required to attend the school with him to keep him from acting out. That means that they WERE with him the day he smashed the teachers cell phone, was hit with a one day suspension, and the requirement that his parents be there to control him was lifted. He was known to interrupt, disrupt the classrooms, hallways, lunch room, cuss a LOT, pick on other children, had "Oppositional Defiant" disorder, or at least behaviors.

Long ago in Seattle, I was a member of an auxiliary that supported a residential facility for children who were mentally ill. Had committed crimes. Some murders. As young as 3 years of age. Crib deaths often suspected to be the work of mentally disturbed and jealous elder siblings. We don’t like to believe that children can be mentally ill (not developmentally disabled) so many simply deny. Parents who have genetic problems to pass on plus the increased use of drugs have to be considered.

It's time to go "Biblical" on these cretins of society and start executing recalcitrant and maladaptive children. This kiddo is psycho and it's not the taxpayers responsibility to medicate him into zombie-ness the rest of his natural life. I might add that many parents of such rebellious miscreants are worthy of the rope as well. Deuteronomy 21:18-21 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy%2021:18-21&version=KJV

I have been retired from teaching for many years, but I have seen a lot of scary behavior back in the day. When I taught 4th grade, one of my students came to school with a knife and chased kids on the playground. Fortunately he was stopped before anything happened. My worthless principal rewarded him by giving him treats and “counseling “ him. After other problems, he was finally removed from our school. I’ve often wondered what happened to him. Face it, a lot of kids are not in school to learn, and many sure don’t know how to behave.

The mayor of Miami Beach wants to cancel Spring Break as footage emerged of the moment a man was shot dead on a sidewalk during another wild weekend of partying. 'We haven’t asked for spring break in our city. We don’t want spring break in our city. It’s too rowdy, brings too much disorder and is simply too difficult to police,' said Democratic mayor Dan Gelber. The chaotic weekend saw two men shot dead and partygoers jumping on a car, brawling in streets and even trashing a slushie shop on the main drag despite the city instituting a curfew on Sunday night. Climate war: Green Handouts Shaped SVB Biz “If government funds it, they will come,” snarks The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley A. Strassel. “That’s one overlooked story line” in Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse. In recent years, SVB’s clients have “skewed in one direction,” including 1,150 in the climate-tech and sustainability sector. The bank provided services to startups that weren’t profitable and would’ve had a harder time getting loans elsewhere, i.e., “subprime firms” — knowing the federal government was offering “handouts” to such companies. Congress’ $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, for instance, “was a starting gun for a clean-tech frenzy,” making “hundreds of billions” available.

Needless to say, I don’t often write about such things as healthy diets and lifestyles — which is not to say I don’t adhere to both — but when the World Health Organization calls on member governments to pass strict limitations on what I can eat and how much of it, it gets my attention — and should get yours, as well. Again, my stance, particularly in this case, shouldn’t be confused with opposition to the current culprit in the spotlight: salt. Specifically, excessive consumption of salt. While I agree in principle with the notion, I don’t agree that it’s the job of the federal government to look

Ron DeSantis came out against our current blank check n’ hack cliches Ukraine policy, stating the indisputable truth that Ukraine was not a vital US interest worthy of risking World War III with Russia. The next day he was proven right when a Russian SU-27 knocked a US Reaper drone into the Black Sea. Hey, feeding Russians (and Ukrainians) into a meat grinder is all fun and games until we get dragged into the abattoir too. Of course, all the right people got really mad about it – when Bill Kristol, Adam Kinzinger, David French, Max Boot and Mitt Romney are all for something, you need to be against it.

CNN used misleading data from the Gun Violence Archive to claim Monday “the U.S. has surpassed 100 mass shootings in 2023.” CNN noted, “America reached the grim number by the first week of March.” Both CNN and the Gun Violence Archive departed from the standard definition for mass shootings, which the Rand Corporation observed as being derived from the FBI’s 1980s definition of a “mass murderer” of an individual who “kills four or more people in a single incident (not including himself).” But for CNN and the Gun Violence Archive, an incident with no fatalities is still a mass shooting.
