If you were one of those people hoping that the presidential primary season would hold off a few more months, I regret to inform you that the gloves are good and fully off. Donald Trump has been savaging Ron DeSantis (up to and including suggesting he’s a pedophile) for months, but up to this point, the Florida governor had held his fire. That is no more after DeSantis did an interview with Fox Nation in which he finally responded to some of Trump’s jabs. It’s only March, so I’m going to do my best to not get in the weeds yet. There will be a time for choosing eventually, but for now,

If the Republican field settles on two candidates right out of the gate (and the end of Martch appears to be that gate) what does that do to a 2016 playback that depended on a solid 25/30% hardcore group of backer for a solid victory in a sea of scattered rivals? Where does the big money go?

DeSantis was losing badly in recent polls, and decided to try to play Trump's game. Dumb move. DeSantis is never going to be able to out-Trump Trump!!! If he tries, it's going to be a bloodbath. DeSantis needs to make up with Trump, be his biggest cheerleader for 2024, hone his skills and conservative credentials as governor for 4 more years, and be the odds-on frontrunner for 2028.

The "big money"is already behind Gov. DeSantis., The Bushes, Cheney's, Koch brothers, none of them want Trump or his MAGA policies. I want to MAGA. I want America 1st policies. I want the Wars to end. I want the borders secure.I want law and order. I want to create, build and manufacture again. I want men out of Women's Sports and their private spaces. You won't get that from DeSantis because the people donating and supporting him are paying him to prevent MAGA. I'm voting for MAGA. I'm voting for Trump. He says what he means. He means what he says and then he does it! None of

I get it, DeSantis is trying to play an innocent victim of big bad Trump, but he’s doing a poor job of it. He doesn’t know what sanctimonious is or how to spell it, really? That’s not even funny and comes across as weak. Come on, now that’s playing the ‘awww shucks’ card and doing it badly. He slipped up on his response to the Bragg indictment nonsense. If he was as savvy as some think, he would have treated that as an assault on justice in this country and not used it to get a poorly thought out dig in on Trump. If he had taken the opportunity to make a statement about political prosecution in the lawless Biden administration that would have done two things. It would have zeroed in on the real issue at hand which is malicious political prosecution. it would have signaled to the country that when it comes to issues that affect our basic civil rights, he is going to fight against that regardless who the target is. Win/win for DeSantis. Rookie mistake. We fight for what is right and leave politics out of it. He is either getting bad advice or didn’t think this through. My bet is that his response was scripted by his donors because it comes across as snarky when he needed to stand up against this horrific administration’s use of the judicial system as a weapon regardless who was their target. I do like DeSantis but he stepped into it with his response to this. He best be careful because he just ticked off the base with that nasally whiny response when he could have pointed out the Biden DOJ is corrupt. He is allowing the Club for Growth, Chamber of Commerce, the same loser political consultants and GOPe to teach him how to lose. DeSantis needs to get smart, this fight is too important to the country to allow the same people that caused a lot of this mess to ever have the opportunity to influence anyone. Why would he ignore the promise he made to his state to stay and fight for them when he was a shoe in for higher office in 2028? It makes no sense to jump in a race opposite the guy who saved his bacon. I just don’t get it. I thought he was smarter and had more integrity than that.

weird - i thought DeSantis was branding himself as non-Trump, rising above jabs from DJT. smart, i thought, because by staying above the fray, he allowed Trumpers to like both of them. then he makes statement about hush money and porn stars, followed by charges of chaotic leadership etc. how he can be electable without a good chunk of Trumpers, i have no idea. he destroyed his brand. who's advising him? and why did he listen to handlers, or is this him? i liked him - and now wonder if he is Jekyll and Hyde character.

Don't take your eye off the Prize! It's true DeSantis would not win the White House if the MAGA Crowd stays Home. It's also True Trump can't win it if the DeSantis Voters stay Home. So, do we want another 4 years of DEMOCRAT Rule? No matter who the Dems run, it will still be 4 more years of Hell! So could we just back whoever we want, but in the end, VOTE REPUBLICAN! Do we really have to start this early in the Game to "take out" Anyone who runs against Trump? Talk about Short Sighted! I don't care WHO the Nominee is (with the R behind his/her name), I will be in Line on Election Day to vote for them! I hope Everyone who loves Lucianne, day after day, will see this Journey as the only way this should come to an end on Election Day!! We all know Trump's Faults and we will learn DeSantis has his own as well, but we do NOT need to tear Either of them to Shreds if we have any hope of beating the Democrat Nominee!

I suppose we should feel proud to have a full on primary battle between Trump and desantis, instead of primary payoffs and cheating to prearrange a winner like the dims do. Although there is a part of me that wishes two good people would have the same goals and that desantis could be satisfied and mature in the barrel of the governorship a little more and work like mad to elect Trump, the guy who is The Most Battle Seasoned in the Swamp Wars. I am skeptical that desantis will be that magic human being who can take an all out assault from the swamp- I mean ALL OUT- and fight it off 100% and still not offend anyone with his methods of so doing. There can be no doubt that the dims very much want a big Trump desantis battle and are paying good money to get it. Of course, desantis might really believe that only he can save the country. Or he might be in cahoots with the get trump people, as suggested by others. The only way desantis can defeat the swamp and maintain the decorum that is demanded by the dims and many repubs is if he makes a deal with the swamp or he's Magic. Bush was reeking of decorum, keeping his mouth shut at all times (even though he lacked "gravitas" according to the Dim Media) and yet still the Dim Propaganda Machine was able to make half the country hate his guts for his war crimes. Cheney- the accused war criminal- has a daughter who has attacked trump and who is now a Dim Darling. I wish Trump were younger, but he's definitely full of youthful energy. He's long battle tested.

I don’t like being force fed a candidate, especially when you know who is behind him. DeSantis was picked by the swamp for the singular purpose of taking down Trump. When all the money is fighting so hard against someone, you have to ask WHY? I was on the fence a few months ago about DeSantis, now I feel like I’m looking at another Jeb. Nice guy, but not enough there on his own to do the job that will be determining the salvation of this country. We dont have the luxury to “see what he can do”. We know what Trump can do.

#25, are you kidding?!?!?!? Trump is salivating at the thought of DeSantis trying to play Trump's game. Trump is a master at his own game. If DeSantis goes there, it will be a blood bath!!! Trump was an extremely successful businessman by knowing that you don't win by playing your enemies' game. You win by getting your enemy to play your game, where you have the huge advantage. DeSantis was having success by totally ignoring Trump. That was frustrating Trump. But Trump knew if he kept up the attacks, DeSantis would eventually snap and join in the "Trump games". Definite rookie mistake on DeSantis part. This is why DeSantis needs to take some good advice, suck it up, come out as Trump's biggest cheerleader for 2024, and then be the odds-on favorite for 2028 (with the full support of the Trump and the MAGA voters to reward him for helping Trump get elected in 2024). Fighting back against Trump will just destroy his political future!!!

I’ve given Politico a lot of crap lately, so I think it’s time to give them some props. Not major props, but praise nonetheless. I ran across this story the other day, and with the exception of some unnecessary digs at the Bad Orange Man, the story was worth reading. By now attacking Trump is just a tic the MSM can’t avoid, so it’s hard to blame them in this instance. It’s unconscious, like scratching an itch. Or perhaps the Trump obsession is like smoking was back in the day–everybody they know does it and nobody thinks much about it. The story, written by Josh Kerstein and Kyle Cheney, details

President Biden's mandate that about 3.5 million federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 was blocked by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday. The president originally issued the executive order in September 2021, requiring workers to be vaccinated unless they have a medical or religious exemption. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown issued an injunction blocking the mandate in January 2022, but a three-judge panel on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the mandate last April. On Thursday, 10 of the 5th Circuit's 16 judges reversed that decision, ruling that there is no constitutional basis for requiring federal employees to be vaccinated.
