Three closely watched ailing senators remain away from the Capitol this week and it’s not clear when they will return. One of them, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, has spoken directly with some members of his leadership team and conveyed to them he is doing well and anxious to get back to work.
Meanwhile, Sen. John Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat, continues to make progress in his treatment for clinical depression at Walter Reed Medical Center while also staying in close contact with key members of his staff, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Fetterman has not said when he plans to return to the Senate. The senator entered treatment

Naturally, CNN's four authors of this article didn't catch the error in the headline: It's champing at the bit, not chomping at the bit. Amazing how many get this one wrong, similar to confusing loose for lose.

I was unaware that turtles could chomp, or even champ, at a bit.

Guess the Turtle can't wait to push more of Biden's Agenda through, eh?

There are intensive care nursing homes with more active residents than the US Senate (and the Oval Office).

I'm still betting Fetter an is in a coma.
Why did his wife take their kids to Canada, anyway? That vanished from the news very quickly.

With the exception of Fetterman (who should never been elected to anything, due to his Health), it seems AGE is catching up with the Senate. Maybe there should be an age where members of Congress MUST retire! Maybe 65 would be good!

The US Senate reminds me of the Chinese CCP. There are a number of Chinese officials in their upper 80s and 90s that are confined to wheelchairs that have people moving them to wherever they are supposed to be. Saw pictures of these guys. The lights are on, but there is nobody home. We are going down the same path.

Perhaps if we had term limits by age, this wouldn't happen...how many of them are old? I'm 82 and I wouldn't want to be doing that job...especially, if like most of them, I had turned a $174,000 a year salary into a multi million buck nest egg....

As blazingly fast as turtles move - this really means Senator Turtle will be further delayed in returning.

Anyone else think wonder if Turtle’s accident was a lot more serious than a concussion from a fall, even at his age.

Power is an addictive force and McConnell has not had a fix since he bumped his confused head, which was confused before he bumped it. Maybe Fetterman can fill in for Mitch until his brain gets unscrambled and he remembers that he was elected by Republicans..

“And we’re not doing much here.” Unfortunately, Sen. Cornyn, truer words were never spoken by a GOPe member of the Senate.

I just wonder if he had been drinking too much wine when he fell hard enough to put him in the hospital and rehab.

Reference to his "leadership team" in the Senate is a cruel joke. Is Chuck Shumer on his team?
There is NO Republican leadership in the Senate.

Apparently, senate RINO McConnell flunkies Thune and Wicker got tired of fielded calls from Up Chuckie Schumer's office. Chuckie was wondering when his hand holding, booze drinking, back room dealling, America screwing buddy Addison was getting out of the hospital.
