So, That's What Our Military Brass Is
Blaming for the Chinese Spy Balloon Incursion?

The Chinese spy balloon circus is over, but now it’s question time for the Biden administration who let this espionage device from Beijing float around for days. We finally downed the balloon over the Atlantic Ocean near the Carolinas over the weekend. But how could this have happened? It wasn’t traveling at supersonic speeds, and our tracking devices could have stopped it when it was hovering near Alaska. There was time to shoot down this balloon before it breached US airspace. We know about the Pentagon's concerns about falling debris killing American citizens.

Generally everything they’ve told the public about this spy balloon is an outright lie. They look like incompetent clowns, but they are hiding that. At least they’ve been called out on it. The idea that we would naively believe their BS has been vanquished.

I have yet to see anything to suggest the point of origin for these balloons. Were they sent aloft just outside our borders or are we to believe these somehow crossed the Pacific? I suspect the former and then the question arises, 'Why would the ChiComs care about OUR weather?'.

I'll wager the "domain awareness gap that we have to figure out" might be resolved much sooner after the resignation of Gen. Glen D. VanHerck.

Dementia Joe may be a moron (not to mention a crook), but he's not completely stupid. He's bought and paid for by the ChiComs and knows better than to bite the hand that feeds him. He allowed his massa Xi's balloon to transit the USA and collect whatever data it was seeking before having it shot down over the Atlantic. Joe's a good little puppet, and well paid for it, too.

Noe of our top military "leaders" today was selected for competence. Clearly they were selected for their willingness to go along with any sort of lies, fraud and other crooked actions that they are ordered to do. And apparently some are taking the 'personal initiative' to do some fraud and lies on their own to help the Dems and/or the ChiComs.

I would have been afraid that the balloon was infested with a bio weapon...To let it pass over the USA and then shot it down over the Atlantic in our territorial waters was the only smart decision!!!

I'm putting on my new Easter Tin-Foil hat here but I see some inconstistancies 1 The standard line is that it wasn’t dangerous, but when they found the payload it contained explosives. 2 It was a Chinese destructive bomb, so why didn’t the CCP USE it to keep it from being found? (hint – they wanted it found, it wasn’t inconspicuous. covid virus?) 3 There were other balloons we didn’t know about HUH? (rolling eyes) .If you didn’t know about them how do you know they existed? And if you didn’t notice them, why do we have such a large defense budget? 4 They didn’t want to down it over populated areas. Alaska? Montana? Wyoming? Pacific Ocean???? 5 Biden says he wanted it shot down but the Pentagon overruled him. He doesn’t know he’s Commander In Chief. I’m sure there are more ̶i̶n̶c̶o̶n̶s̶i̶s̶t̶e̶n̶c̶i̶e̶s̶ lies, but we won’t hear any explanations tonight at the State Speech.

I have another theory: What was the cost to produce the spy balloon? What would be the cost of using the military to shoot it down? Simply put, it wasn't worth it.

If this was the time of Henry VIII, military leaders would be brought to the Tower, kept there and 'persuaded' to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about a French spy balloon. Off shore Cayman Islands accounts should be monitored for increased activity. Under Biden, cynicism like this is shared by millions of Americans.

Going back to the 80's here - NORAD tracks EVERYTHING ! Planes, satellites, BALLOONS, everything. If it was flying over this country, they knew about it BEFORE it crossed over the mainland. I'm betting before it got to the Aleutians ! At one time, long ago, one of the items they tracked was a GLOVE (!) still in orbit that had been earlier by an astronaut ! NORAD didn't know about this thing ? Bull squeeze !

You have to hand it to the Chinese, being able to plot a course for a damned balloon to take it over our major facilities...unless it had a bit of 'power' to alter course built in...but, we will never hear about that if it is true...

In 1707, Swedish King Charles XII appeared like he could successfully invade Russia in the manner that he had defeated Russian armies.

Public schools (I prefer the term “government schools”) in Democrat-run cities have become a racket, plundering taxpayers’ funds and failing to deliver even a minimally acceptable education. The fact that Americans spend more on their government schools than any other country, and yet our students place near the bottom of standardized achievement tests is all the proof that one needs. We are being cheated on a massive scale, and the future of the nation is in peril when large numbers of children, mostly but not exclusively minorities, are being condemned to law pay and social status because they are so innumerate and illiterate.

Word emerged the other day that Ray Epps is finally about to be charged for events on January 6, 2021. Sharp-eyed media consumers instantly noticed that, with this news, the mainstream media moved in unison to redefine their previous characterization of events on that day. Since the day Joe Biden took office, the administration has spent an inordinate amount of time, energy, and money to arrest and prosecute every random grandmother who took a picture inside the Capitol on January 6, ignoring the fact that Capitol police welcomed many into the building. The administration has also savaged the constitutional rights of some of those arrested by locking them up without bail

The former president has been posting extensively about the cracked-out son of Joe Biden. He’s an easy target, and we got a window into his whacked-out life when the contents of his laptop got revealed. Essentially, Hunter’s lawyer told Trump to stop exercising his constitutional right to free speech because it could cause harm to Mr. Biden and his family (via ABC News):

The recently concluded riots in France are a dark omen for Europe and the wider Western world. The Algerian teenager whose killing lit the fuse has been likened to George Floyd, and indeed, there are striking parallels. Both were criminals who died while refusing to cooperate with law enforcement, for starters. But that is not the story Western audiences are getting from their press. Instead, they are told he is a martyr, a victim of wicked Europe. His blood is on the hands of post-colonial France. No one has bothered to ask the native French how they feel about their country coming under attack by hostile foreigners, of course.
Ten Reasons Why Affirmative Action Died 17 replies

The end of affirmative action was inevitable. The only surprise was that such intentions gone terribly wrong lasted so long. First, supporters of racial preferences always pushed back the goal posts for the program’s success. Was institutionalized reverse bias to last 20 years, 60 years, or ad infinitum? Parity became defined as an absolute equality of result. If “equity” was not obtained, then only institutionalized “racism” explained disparities. And only reverse racism was deemed the cure. Second, affirmative action was imposed on the back end in adult hiring and college admissions.

I don’t regularly follow the comedy duo Key & Peele, so I only now caught up with a comedy sketch entitled “Mother Majesty Empowers The Women of Tomorrow,” which premiered roughly ten years ago. It shocked me, not because it’s vulgar (which it is) but because it's prophetic. It shows how the female “empowerment” message from the left is, in fact, deadly for women and benefits only men. It was also prophetic insofar as it ties in with the new “Miss” Netherlands and Dylan Mulvaney. There’s nothing that kills a joke more than explaining it, so here’s the video for you to watch.

At some point in this column, I have probably had occasion to quote these famous lines from Walter Scott’s poem “Marmion”: “Oh, what a tangled web we weave When first we practice to deceive.” In another, better world, I like to think, the Bidens and their protectors and puppet masters would ruefully be contemplating Scott’s admonitory observation. In this world, however, I suspect that—until quite recently, anyway—they had smugly sided with J.R. Pope’s sly amendment to Scott’s moralizing couplet: “But when we’ve practiced for a while How vastly we improve our style.”

If, like me, you find the presidential debate format a rather meaningless exercise, you will be astonished at what one-on-one interviews by a skilled interrogator can accomplish. At the Iowa family Leader conference, Tucker Carlson interviewed several leading contenders for president Tim Scott, Asa Hutchinson, Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis. If the participants thought this was going to be another tongue bath, they were certainly surprised. He asked hard questions and some of their answers exposed their muddled thinking. The supporters of former President Trump are absolutely correct about one thing. If every single Republican pledged their allegiance to him and fell in line he’d win the nomination easily. But he’d also lose the general election, again. He does not receive enough support from outside the traditional Republican and MAGA base to win in 2024. Hillary Clinton beat Trump by roughly 3 million in the popular vote in 2016. While Trump indeed did win the election by taking the required 270 electoral votes, just a few thousand votes in each of the key swing states would have changed that outcome into a Hillary Clinton landslide victory in 2016.

Recently, Arizona Republican Eli Crane was rebuked for referring to “people of color” as “colored people.” That’s a controversy which would, at any other time in the history of the English language, be incomprehensible to a sensible reader. After all, there’s no practical difference in the phrases. In fact, the choice to give preference to the phrase “people of color” is worse than practically useless to an English speaker -- it’s needlessly more burdensome to both the talker and the listener.
