A 63-pound pup who was deemed 'too big' and 'too strong' has finally found his forever home after an 'unlucky streak' of 14 failed adoptions.
Ronald, a playful mixed breed, was transferred to the SPCA of Wake County, a non-profit animal rescue in Raleigh, North Carolina, from a nearby municipal shelter on December 7, 2022, Fox News reported.
Within a month, the one-year-old went home with three different families for trial adoptions and was requested by 11 others, but his boisterous energy and size seemed to be a turnoff for potential owners.
'He is basically your typical puppy. He is playful and clumsy and goofy and still learning his manners,'

I'm so glad Ronald has a loving home. He looks like a Great Pyrenees. They can do a genetic test to find out, then they'll know how big he's likely to get! He's just so expressive, love is written all over his face.

At one point in time, we were running a Great Dane rescue home. We had a huge fenced in backyard and lots of space and love for animals who had been bought or taken in by people who didn't realize how big a Dane could get. At any given time, we would have three to eight dogs besides our two Danes.
Our animals were excellent at calming fearful adoptees, and it didn't take long to get everyone to feel comfortable. I never ran into a Dane that we couldn't handle.

I am a sucker for a good dog story and this one is so touching. Ronald seems to have finally hit the adoption jackpot and I wish he and his new family nothing but the best. Dogs are some of the most loving and sweet creatures on this planet and I love when they find a place that fits. Good luck and God bless this family.

Precious baby. He looks like one big lovebug.
I'm sure his prior heartbreaks vanished with the first kind words and hugs of his forever family. It's all up from here!

I fostered a full on Great Pyr. 9 months old and ginormous. The very irresponsible breeder sold him to apartment dwellers who didn’t realize he’d “get that big”. He found a home rather quickly. He was a sweetheart.

I’ve been away for several days for a funeral in my immediate family and am just back this morning. This story is so wonderful to see after scrolling through all of the headlines above. My heart swells with happiness for Ronald and his forever family. What a gorgeous dog!

There’s a definite problem with the adoption agency. They should never have placed him in a home that was incompatible to start with.

This dog is mostly Golden Retriever, the British Creme type. I have one exactly like him, 95 pounds, full of energy and a fierce protector of family and home. Wouldn't trade him for the world.

My rapidly growing 6 month old doodle retriever mix knows every puppy trick in the book, including running thru the house with my reading glasses hoping I’ll chase her. But when she lays her head on my knee I wouldn’t trade her for anything.

Stupid people tricks.
Don't get a big dog unless you have a proper place for the dog to get outside and burn off some energy. Stupid people do stupid things, including getting a big, high energy dog when they aren't actually up for it.
