It was not race, but bad policing that

The release of the videos from the lethal arrest of Tyre Nichols, 29, is shocking for its lack of professional tactics and procedures. This looks like adrenaline-filled rage … from the officers. At certain points, it is the suspect who sounds to be trying to de-escalate the situation.
It is unfortunately not unique. In physical encounters, officers can escalate violence and lose control with lethal consequences. The footage helps establish a number of legal points. The force is clearly and undeniably excessive. It was a complete breakdown of training and supervision. It is hard to look at this tape objectively and analytically given the emotional impact of the scene. Yet

When you put the police badges, tazers, tear gas like sprays, and the like aside. What happened in Memphis looks and sounds like the kind of beatings that the uncivilized inner city Black street gangs, the members of which clearly have little or no self control when it comes to laying on extreme violence like drop kicking their foes in the head in incidents that they routinely perpetrate. Notice that after the incident in Memphis ended with the victim handcuffed and incapacitated that the officers involved stood around seemingly casually talking without any thought that they did anything out of the ordinary in very seriously injuring their victim.

Maybe there's more to the deadly beating story that we've not been told and is inconvenient to discuss.

The perps were fired, then arrested and jailed and murder charges filed. Why are there demonstrations after all that? Everything is under control, but after every one of these incidents there’s a “demonstration”. It’s automatic! What do these demonstrations hope to accomplish other than to riot and break things. I want to say they are stupid, but I’ll leave that to others,

These policemen were in a rage. Five big burly cops, likely with a bit of steroid here and there, totally brutalized a scrawny young man. What happened to them? They went insane. I've never condoned demonstrations, looting, destroying things, but this time I can accept it. That young man kept calling for his mama. There was no excuse in the world for this to have happened. My sympathies to his family.

This situation is common in cities with these proactive police units. All these officers belonged to a "Scorpion" team, one of three teams in Memphis. They are supposed to root out and combat crime, almost before it occurs. These guys need very tight SUPERVISION.
Some years back, in NYC, a doctor got off a two day shift and missed his exit on the Cross Bronx Expwy. and ended up in a lousy part of town...the Bronx. Two scruffy individuals approached him at 3ish in the morning and he hit the gas thinking they were street criminals. They were undercover cops and they shot him to death. Proactive cop units have to be supervised very closely or plain old civilians are going to be killed.
And by the way, if you make a cop run after your dumb a*s and catch you, I promise you a beat down. And as other posters have suggested, there is a certain culture from which you don't want a beat down.
Quick surrender and nonresistance is the key to survival.

I don’t believe the police actions had anything to do with race. The aftermath, playing out in the streets, is ALL about race. One particular race. As usual.

5 might be on to something. It seemed personal, like one of the cops had a grudge or a beef with Tyre and the other cops had his back. They forgot a cop rule, which is cameras are everywhere.

I am sickened and disgusted by the video. I wonder how many others were beaten by the Scorpion team in the past. I support the police but this was not justified. These police officers are nothing more than criminals with a badge. Put them on trial and let the facts lead a jury to provide justice.

The battle against, "Moral Behavior vs Can't Fix Stupid" = hands down, "Can't Fix Stupid" is winning! America, blessed by God, is at the cusp of falling from Grace. It's headed toward the sad ending of, "Humpty Dumpty had a Great Fall".

Something I have noticed frequently in these police incidents is that the police demand something and expect their demands be met immediately. When that does not happen, they go ballistic.
Police demand someone pull over, or get out of a car, or get down on their stomach. When that does not happen, out comes the pepper spray, the tasers, the baton, and all too often, the gun.
I also wonder what the specific cause of death will be. I can easily imagine if what happened to Nichols happened to me, I would end up with a bout of A-fib at minimum. If a police officer ever threatened to tase me, I would be telling them I'm on three different heart meds and not do it.

Tyre Nichols was an engaging young man who would light up a room, was kind to those he met, helpful to the disabled especially old ladies trying to cross the street, and learning how to be an absentee father. At age 29 he had hopes of becoming a nuclear physicist and thought rap music would aid him in understanding his world. It would never occur to him to be mouthy and profane during a routine traffic stop especially to policemen of color. He would never use the "N" word to what he might call fellow "Ns." He was just a well-rounded Black man living in Memphis studying particle physics with dreams of making a breakthrough in fusion or thorium while adjusting ear buds to rap music.

Well, well, well...
From another article: "According to a source within the Memphis PD, the 5 charged officers weren’t hired through the usual structured PD hiring process. City leaders felt the existing process was too strict and kept certain people from getting jobs at the department. City leaders began their own hiring process and then pushed new hires into the agency, bypassing the testing procedures in place at the department. You can read between the lines what that all means.
All 5 of the charged officers were hired by the City, and didn’t go through the rigorous PD testing process.
This is what quota hiring looks like. Lawsuits and dead innocents. The city should pay the lawsuits instead of the Police department. This Murder wasn’t created by old school policing or by “white supremacy”. This murder was directly facilitated by liberal policy."

What struck me when watching the video was a question. Why is the goal of the police to get Tyre Nichols to "comply"? Why instead isn't the goal to simply subdue him? They could've achieved this relatively easily by one of the many officers sitting on his legs while he was cuffed by another. 5 cops and they couldn't achieve that? Gimme a break. They enjoyed punishing this guy. They got off on it. Pure evil. Police departments need to stop expecting "compliance/surrender" and instead focus on how fast they can subdue/cuff.

Bad policing was secondary. First, it was a spiritual matter of a lack of conscience and evil intent. As Dan Bongino asked, “Who does this?” Those who do this are without conscience, evil. That isn’t fixed by better training. It is fixed by knowing God and His commandments.

Take away the uniforms and it's a routine night in any city in America. You drop the standards to issue uniforms and this is both predictable and preventable. Let's see the hiring process.

If this had been 'old school' cops, they would have had him subdued and cuffed in no time. These guys looked like they were afraid to touch him, he even got away from them. Looked like some lady cops I have seen on the cop shows.

I'm a big supporter of the "thin blue line" and all LEOs in general. But I don't support these thugs in uniform. The dead man's crime didn't rise to the level of treatment he received. Here's the ugly facts:
The police --- nationwide --- have been torn down so much recently that good, honest and well meaning men and woman no long want to go into service dressed in blue. Why risk your life and then get no support? Would you encourage your kid to be a cop these days? This is particularly true in heavy crime cities.
So ... who becomes a cop now in these bad situations? All the standards have to be lowered and then you get ... shall we nicely say ... a "different element" becoming police officers. The recruits are most likely to be way below average in everything: intelligence, morality, self-control, manners, criminal records themselves, etc.
In a city as criminally bad off as some sections of Memphis are (sorry to those still trying to live there!) you get men wanting to become cops who are a lot rougher around the edges than in other cities . In fact, being a cop is a great job for them in that area: good pay (better than a factory or fast food), decent fringe benefits and a pretty good pension. (Usually).
Those guys who beat that poor man to death are only one step above the Gestapo --- and all the best training could not change the world view they brought to their jobs in the first place --- which no doubt held a heavy emphasis on their own greatness. Giving any of them a gun and the power to enforce the law --- as they see it --- is just like having a lit candle in a gunpowder warehouse. Sooner of later something is going to go "boom"!

I agree totally...this was a case of bad policing...and of course...the soros goons didn't riot as much because it was black on black...and he only uses the policing when it's about a white cop on black...I'm so sorry for the families involved....in Germany during the WWII war..it was the brown shirts...now WE have the soros goon squad...ironic that soros was a hitler youth...he learned his lessons well....

Black Communist Death Democrat run City, Black Communist Death Democrat Diversity, (Black and a women, is she gay because that would be a diversity trifecta, Chief of Police and five Black Police Officers and one black young man an apparent victim. Nary a white to be seen in any of this.
Can someone please point out to me where the racism is and what is the real reason for all these riots in Communist Death Democrat Run Cities?
Thanks.

The female Memphis Chief of Police was fired from her job on the Atlanta Police back in 2008 for her inappropriate involvement in a sex crimes investigation. She was busted from Major to Lieutenant before eventually being fired. Sounds like she's known to "bend the rules" a bit. I was wondering if those cops weren't merely gang members in police uniforms.

"It was not race..."
I disagree: it WAS race. Backfiring.
The culture, born and bred in American schools and black (fatherless) families provided the fertile soil for Tyre's death. That is why PDT is launching his push to bring about a renaissance in American education. Something, without which, our civilization will die.

The issue, apart from possible overuse of steroids, is Big Me v Little You. You do as I say. You do not ask questions. That said, I see no difference when a cop beats a citizen and the molestation of a of a parishioner by a priest; when a parent abuses a child; when a spouse abuses a partner. Then there are the psychopaths! Sin is sin, no matter who is committing it.
