An activist warned California’s reparations task force of “a serious backlash” if it does not honor his demands for a six-figure payout for eligible black residents.
Speaking at a meeting of the Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans at Oakland City Hall on Wednesday, Deon Jenkins argued that every black Californian should receive a payment of around $800,000 to reflect average home prices in the state, KRCR reported.
“Either they’re going to comply or it’s going to be a serious backlash,” Jenkins said in an interview following the hearing.
A self-proclaimed “hip-hop organizer,” Jenkins ran for president in 2016 and 2020,

Give them each 2 million dollars. Within a year scammers and shiny thing sellers will have it all back. People are in the situation they are in because they do NOT manage money well. It will prove true again and they will be demanding more money. I bet shooting and looting will remain.

'Serious backlash'? Bring it on, baby! California is wealthy because of its great natural beauty with mountains, desert, and the coast. But its property is also valuable because people with money have competed against one another and jacked up prices. Increasingly congested with city sidewalks covered in tents, homeless, trash, feces, and threatened by fools like Mr. Jenkins - how much longer will it remain a desirable home? California can't afford the silliness of reparations now. If enough employers and people flee elsewhere, home values and tax revenues will collapse - even basic public services will be impossible. THEN, Mr. Jenkins, you will see a REAL backlash.

This may sound extremely cynical but I believe democrats are seriously trying to start a race war, civil war or whatever you want to call a complete violent rebellion. They have been trying it with the MAGA movement but thankfully, they did not take the bait. Democrats are playing with fire and if you think that Biden wouldn’t encourage this reprehensible act to distract from what he fears is coming personally, think again. Also, the CIA and FBI, deep state or whatever you want to call it is coming under intense scrutiny for all their meddling and the lawlessness they have been up to. Look what they have done already. Assassination is an available tool that they have gotten away with in the past. What makes you believe they would recoil from inciting a domestic war to protect their interests? They will burn the country to the ground if that’s what it takes to protect themselves. I think if we knew the extent to which they have already gone to here in this country and around the world, we would become a pariah over night. Don’t ever underestimate evil.

Reminds of those spoiled brats that will throw a temper tantrum the moment they don't get what they want, ones that have never known a second of discipline.
Truth be told they don't need a reparations, Big Daddy Government's 40 year old little princesses need to be kicked out of the house and forced to grow the hell up.

Let the grift begin! I would actually be ok with a one-time-and-we’re-done-condition. One payment, and then no more affirmative action, no more anti-anyone-who-isn’t-black policies, no more special treatment of any kind. Everything goes back to square one. No more whining, no more guilt trips, no more demands, no more money. It would be worth the one time payment to have some peace, for once.

And, in case #21 isn't clear enough. There are NO living former slaves or former slave owners. Zero, zip, nada.
This is a total non-starter. Just pure money grubbing.

You could say that those communist activists are threatening the people in California by forecasting a “huge backlash” against those people who actually do pay California taxes if they don’t “OK” huge payouts in the name of reparations to the Black and other “special” minority populations. You also have to figure that the luxury motor vehicle manufacturers are 100% in favor of all for those handouts.
Those communist activists can never answer the question as to why the major portion of the USA population today, that had nothing to do with the Southern Black slavery era that was ended by the Civil War over 150 years back in history should have to fund those so-called reparations payouts. Burrowing in on that, especially why should the decedents of Union Army members, some of who were killed or seriously wounded in the Civil War have to fund those so-called reparations?

Why are the sellers of slaves not chipping in on this? The Nigerians, Ghanese and others did the dirty work of capturing and selling these people. I guess that part was alright.

Might be a new gold rush in California if this passes. Lots of folks would load up their Cadillacs and hop on Southwest airlines to emigrate there. Might make places like Chicago and NYC livable again.

Seems to me the backlash has already begun. Those profitable businesses and their wealthy owners aren't re-investing in California-no, they are moving their headquarters, plants and employees to freedom loving states like Texas and Florida. What was it Mark Twain said about people like Deon Jenkins? Never argue with a fool or those around you will see you as one.Keep it up Deon. The freedom loving world welcomes your refugees.

Now that Newsom has opened this Pandora’s Box and they’ve thrown some big numbers out, there is no going back. California cities will burn if they don’t follow through with the dough, and it will probably happen anyway, regardless of the amount because they will never be satisfied. And unfortunately the riots will likely spread across the country. Here we go again!
