CTH has encountered criticism for our position on information. Perhaps it is important to step back and explain exactly why we should not be playing by rules established to control us while engaged in the battle of ideas. First, my position:
…”There is no such thing as “disinformation” or “misinformation”. There is only information you accept and information you do not accept. You were not born with a requirement to believe everything you are told; rather, you were born with a brain that allows you to process the information you receive and make independent decisions.”…
There are only two elements within the public discussion of information, truth

No one had critical thinking skills anymore. Everyone just does as they are told.

"If You Have Not Been Taught to Think for Yourself ..." - you have been reprogrammed by the educational institutions and the federal government, which makes you nothing but a scarecrow in the corn field

Thinking for yourself is a dangerous thing in this age of universal deceit. I learned this early, and it has gotten worse over the years. At 82, however, I no longer give a rat's rectum.

Thinking for myself brings me to agree with #5.

Nobody tells me what to think. That little personality flaw has caused me untold trouble throughout my life. One of my biggest complaints is that there are no facts anymore. If a real fact doesn't fit someones opinion, they fabricate a new fact to support it. Then as time goes on, the fabrications overwhelm the truth and the truth dies. I am instantly skeptical of anyone who uses the word "truth" nowadays. Usually it is followed by an opinion.

No Sundance is not spot on, not entirely. What we used to call it back in the WWII days was propaganda. Now the new name for propaganda is disinformation. Propaganda is too easily identified as being false, so the liberals in charge need a more nebulous term that can change meaning anytime it needs to.
It is all still the government line they expect the nation to believe, but it is more than just 'information'. Always depends on who is doing the defining.

The Government educational system has brainwashed skulls of mush for decades, teaching kids that the Government knows best. And they bought it, free stuff for everyone. We will be paying the cost of this knowledge for decades.

I know a family that has been completely and totally brainwashed with the Covid virus and vaccine propaganda. I mean they are so bad it’s really shocking. They have all been jabbed and had multiple boosters. They keep catching Covid over and over. They go to the drug store and buy test kits by the dozen. Just yesterday the mom went to a Rite Aid and got 8 kits in one trip. If they even think they were exposed to someone who possibly had Covid they test daily even though they have no symptoms. They buy masks and hand sanitizer by the case. I have never seen people so afraid in my life. My bet they will all be dead within a couple years from the vaccine. Watch the movie: Died Suddenly. They will all be doing the vaccine spin and drop dead to the floor

Lefties are taught from birth, if they make it that far, not to think for themselves. Thinking is a sign of weakness.

Think for themselves? A lot of leftists don't even think. They react, regurgitate talking points, and emote. Tough way to go through life. One has to keep creating explanations. To wit: billions and trillions of years, plus random chance, gave us life on Earth as we know it.

Call “misinformation” for what it is—a lie! Disinformation is propaganda. Use the 24 hour rule, or better yet, wait 48 hours after you hear of something. The real story will come out later.

Democrats do not have the ability to think for themselves. Fact is, again for the tenth time, they are delusional illiterates who follow instructions. That's it. They wake up everyday to a cue card instructing them on what to say and do. Notice the media and TV. All use the same exact phrase, all use the exact same talking points for that day's narrative. Nothing more than programmed puppets for their regime. Get it yet. Wake up.

FTA: "If you define the grey work as a problem you cannot solve on your own, you open the door for others to solve that problem for you. You begin to abdicate the work, and that’s when trouble can enter."
Thinking is hard work. People don't like hard work. They "sub-contract" to their "influencers", from Kardashians to FPDT, to co-workers at lunch. It's not only easier that way, but in your own circle it keeps you "popular", part of the group. Taking a contrary view, or offering conflicting information is the quickest way to expulsion. People want to belong. Basic group dynamics explains a lot about our political behavior.
