Prominent Twitter users erupted into a series of arguments after an MSNBC health columnist floated the idea of canceling Thanksgiving and moving winter holidays to prevent illness. She tweeted that "for so many reasons" Thanksgiving should be canceled, winter holidays should be moved to the summer, and winter holidays should be more "hygge," or cozy. "For so many reasons", she says. Number one being the desire to end every tradition of Western culture, particularly the religious and social ones. Prevention of respiratory illnesses isn't driven by season, but behavior, hygiene, and habit. Move Christmas to summer, and it will take the peak flu season with it, because the heavy travel will go wherever it is.

#1 why would you cancel anything at all? Covid has been debunked - it never was a deadly virus unless you were old and weak. I for one never feared it (and I am 71 and overweight but do not plan to live forever anyway) and I refused to wear a stupid mask. When confronted about lack of mask I generally offered to put the confronter into a world of hurt and they all backed off.

As the United States rolled back the clocks one hour this month to observe the end of Daylight Saving Time, many people got a bit more sleep than usual – but some not as much as others. Growing evidence shows that lack of sleep and sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, remain more prevalent in Black, Asian, and Hispanic or Latino communities, and these inequities can have long-term detrimental implications for physical health, even raising the risk of certain chronic diseases. Meanwhile, Daylight Saving Time itself – enacted in the US to reduce electricity usage by extending daylight hours – has long
