Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg explained the Biden administration is trying to head off a possible rail worker strike that would have serious economic repercussions for the country. NewsNation previewed an interview Buttigieg gave to Leland Vittert, who asked him if the administration would support workers as their union negotiations with rail managers remain on the rocks. (Snip) “Can the American economy deal with it if it happens?” Vittert followed up. “It would not be good,” Buttigieg answered. “Catastrophic?” Vittert asked. “We don’t have enough trucks or barges or ships in this country to make up for the rail network,” said

Comments:

I thought good, old Uncle Joe solved the rail strike. Ooops - they just kicked the can until after the elections. Now disaster looms if they do strike and we have Lil Petey at the helm.

Before the election Biden was out there claiming that he took care of the potential railroad strike situation. Now we are being informed by the media that was not so. Just like most of what Biden has told the American people in the past, Biden’s true intentions were 101% political and were designed to assist the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats get past the election, and you can bet that the Union big wigs helped Biden get away with that, and will be now demanding big wage and benefit increases for their members from the railroads.

Someone should tell Pervert Pete that the parties are bargaining under the Railway Labor Act, and that the Act provides for an imposed settlement - in other words, the government writes the contract. Therefore, a strike would be illegal. (During my labor mediation career, I have, on occasion, written a labor agreement because the parties asked me to do so. I always warned them that a negotiated agreement was way better than any agreement I would write. But sometimes there were stubborn individuals on both sides of the table, and an outsider could break the logjam. I once was mediating a school district- teachers dispute, and almost everyting was settled except for one dollar h.s. sporting events free tickets. The existing labor agreement provided a free ticket for each teacher, and a free ticket for their spouse, to attend football and basketball home games. The Union president, a single woman, was vexed and miffed that she had to pay one dollar to take her boyfriend to a game, and wanted a free ticket for him. The school district had a board member who thought it was wrong to give a free ticket to an unrelated person. I changed the language, removing anyreference to a spouse, and wrote that the District shall provide 2 free tickets for sporting events to each teacher. I also took the board member aside and pointed out that it was a plus to have the teachers at the games.) That made everyone happy, and the local newspaper made me sound like a genius

I know railroad workers and they haven't has a contract in 3 years and with Biden's handlers destroying the economy a 28% raise just doesn't cut it. Also have stupid rules in the contract like 3 hours from notice to be on the rails, after the long up to 12 hours (I believe that was changed but not sure what it is) on the rails they have another 4 hours to get the crew to a hotel? And during China virus the corporate elites laid off almost 1/3 putting the burden on those left. The contract needs a better raise and better planning by management.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, who is expected to be the next House speaker, gave Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas an ultimatum: resign or face an impeachment inquiry. “Our country may never recover from Secretary Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty. This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign,” McCarthy said. “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure. And we will determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.” The stark warning is a significant change in tone from McCarthy

Late on Tuesday night, court filings by the attorneys for the alleged shooter from the LGBTQ night club in Colorado Springs, Colorado revealed the shooter is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. After spending the past two days smearing conservative Christians for allegedly inspiring this apparent attack against gay people, CNN Tonight anchor Alisyn Camerota was clearly stunned as she watched her network’s narrative come crashing down. Breaking the news to her audience, Camerota begrudgingly reported that the “attorneys for the accused shooter, Anderson Lee Aldrich, say in new court filings tonight that the suspect now identifies as non-binary.”

The Walmart gunman who opened fire in the break room of the Chesapeake store where he worked last night had a list of the names of people he wished to target.   Andre Bing, 31, opened fire in the breakroom of the Walmart in Sam's Circuit, Chesapeake, at 10.12pm last night, where 14 employees had gathered for a pre-shift meeting.  There were 50 people inside the store at the time, likely finishing some last-minute Thanksgiving errands.  Bing opened fire in the breakroom at the back of the store. He shot ten people before killing himself.

MARYLAND — Gov.-elect Wes Moore said he wants the new FBI headquarters to be in Maryland and has been lobbying President Joe Biden’s administration to keep it from going to neighboring Virginia. In an interview with DC News Now, Moore said this is a serious priority even before he takes office in January as a decision can come down before the end of the year. “I want the FBI in Maryland,” Moore said. “And I’ve been very transparent in my time as the next governor of the state of Maryland, I want that in Maryland.” And given his relationship with

Since Rep. Liz Cheney accepted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s offer to serve as the vice chair of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, the Wyoming Republican has exerted a remarkable level of control over much of the committee’s public and private work. (Snip) The feuding brings to the fore a level of public acrimony within the Jan. 6 committee that previously had largely played out behind the scenes, as public attention was focused on a series of blockbuster public hearings focused on Trump’s role fomenting the attack. Several committee staff members were floored

Senator Manchin’s dirty ‘Inflation Increase Act’ deal, its betrayal of coal country, army of IRS agents, and inflationary spending has paid off some of his backers and made Bill Gates very happy. Gates was described as having personally lobbied Senator Manchin and Schumer in “anticipation of a rare moment in which significant federal dollars might be secured for the clean-energy transition.” Billions of those dollars, ripped out of the hands of truck drivers, veterans and small businessmen, will have been “secured” for Gates and his ventures. The Microsoft founder was described as having “tapped into a relationship with Manchin that he’d cultivated for at least three years”.
