Senator-elect John Fetterman (D., Pa.) disavowed "dirty money" from corporate interests in his Senate campaign. Crypto scam artist Sam Bankman-Fried was an apparent exception, according to campaign finance records. Web3 Forward, a pro-crypto super PAC funded heavily by Bankman-Fried, spent more than $210,000 on ads portraying Fetterman as a blue-collar hero who would not "get schmoozed by lobbyists," the New York Times reported. Bankman-Fried, his crypto firm FTX, and one of his cofounders gave nearly $4.1 million to GMI PAC, another tech-oriented group that is the sole funder of Web3 Forward.
We have a vegetable for President of the United States. Now Pennsylvania gets a vegetable for its junior Senator. Lovely.

Not to strike a discordant note, but I've never understood why money is so important in political campaigns. Fort Knox doesn't have enough gold to interest me in even considering voting for a demoncrap. Most of the tv commercials are silly at best and lies at worst. Bumper stickers? Buttons? Yard signs? Forget it. I'm not that easily swayed.

The temptation was just too much and greed and his selfish and self-centered ego took over. Remember the old proverb...Money is the root of all evil.

Very early on in the campaign, before Fetterman suffered his stroke, the iconic Pennsylvania's own Lakerman, warned you people that Fetterman could win the Senate seat, based on his non stop campaigning statewide for at least 8 years. (He lost a primary senate campaign in 2016, and became Lt. Gov. in 2018, but didn't bother to move to Harrisburg, because he was campaigning..)
Fetterman, prior to 2018, was mayor of a neighborhood in a Pittsburgh suburb, Braddock. He was paid 150 dollars a month, but was supported by his wealthy daddy and maybe George Soros,. Braddock, population 1750, hs a city manager to do the every day duties of a mayor, so Fetterman was able to campaign all over Pennsylvania, in villages even smaller than Braddock.
He used his size, 6'8", 450 pounds, to overwhelm party loyalists. (He was able to reduce his weight to 350 pounds at the time of his stroke.)
Retail politics in Pennsylvania works. He built, protected, and expanded his base. George Soros certinly noticed this, and I expect to see other candidates in the mold of daddy's boy Fetterman, supported by Soros. Mrs. Fetterman, an illegal immigrant, a half black brazilian, was also an effective campaigner.
Finally, \Fetterman faced the perfect candidate for him, Dr. Oz, an out of stater who didn't even bother to buy a residence in Pennsylvania, instead using his sister in law's address.\
Oz also holds dual citizenship with Turkey, and is a sufi muslim.
DJT chose to support Oz over McCormick, a native Pennsylvanian, wealthy, combat veteran. Had McCormick been the nominee, he could have gone after Fetterman's incapacity as a storke vicitm. Oz, as a physician, could not ethically have done so.
Oz ran, at first, a weak campaign. An when Oprah refused to support Oz, he was dead in the water.
\DJT and the republicans should learn a lesson here. I don't know if they will.

You can bet that after handing 40 million or so to the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats to boost up their election chances, that Bankman-Fried is effectively “bulletproof” as far as being prosecuted criminally in the USA as long as the leftist Democrats control the White House and the Department of Justice.
