The company has grown gargantuan in size. Its parent company, Alphabet, is worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Worldwide, Google’s Search function comprises over 90 percent of all search engine usage. Its browser, Chrome, takes up almost 70 percent of the browser market (Apple’s Safari, which comes on all Macbooks, takes up 16 percent – meaning Google is effectively the default for all non-Apple computers and plenty of Apple computers). Gemini, its AI, is built into its search. Alphabet even owns 14 percent of Anthropic, the second-largest corporate shareholder after Amazon.

Google has been a very successful company. I do not support punishing a successful company, just because they have been very successful. There are plenty of competitors, or potential competitors that can try to compete with them. Let them do it.

I rarely use Google anymore. Google provides lots of information that I must process in order to get answers. But AI systems like Grok will process that information for me and give me answers. AI is still in its infancy and so it can still give bad answers. But as long as I’m aware of that, I’m fine and I can look at the information myself. But I have little use for Google itself. On the other hand, I practically live on YouTube.

Trump's War Critics Discuss Everything

The Los Angeles Times recently published a "News Analysis" headlined: "Trump, long a critic of 'forever wars,' may be stumbling into one with Iran." The analysis offers legitimate grounds for criticizing President Donald Trump. He has described the objectives of the war against Iran in different ways. He has made changing predictions about its duration. He has repeatedly suggested that an agreement was near, only for negotiations to collapse. He promised no more endless Middle East wars, yet the conflict has continued for months, American servicemembers have died, and the administration has not clearly defined what victory looks like.

Georgia Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson said he will match the $1,000 Trump accounts for Georgia children if elected. Jackson joined second-term Republican President Donald Trump on stage at Cobb County's Wheeler High School, where the president spoke on the accounts. American families with children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, can claim a $1,000 Trump account, according to the White House. They can add up to $5,000 to the account. "And I believe our Legislature will approve that, but if they don't, I will personally donate it myself," Jackson said.

Wayne National Forest, located in southeast Ohio, will likely see fracking opportunities thanks to a lease sale recently announced by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. According to Signal Ohio, the lease sale scheduled for Sept. 15 includes 41 parcels of land totaling 2,840 acres. The BLM announcement makes it that much more likely that the lease sale will make fracking available in the state’s only national forest for the first time, though “some bureaucratic hurdles remain.” In order to drill at Wayne National Forest, the winning bidder would need a BLM permit. The report also notes an effort’s been underway since at least 2016 to bring fracking to the forest. Meanwhile,

When I saw the first picture of Joshua Kerry, the man accused of murdering former British MP Ann Widdecombe, I knew without a moment’s hesitation. “This man is a leftist. The worst kind.” I said so on X, too. I’ve gotten in trouble before for suggesting there’s such a thing as “leftist physiognomy” — a distinctive set of physical features that instantly identify a person as a leftist, especially a radical one — but I’ll happily defend that position, no matter how loud my critics scream and stamp their feet. The very first hit piece that was ever written about me,

California's port mandates are heading to Congress, and the rest of the country is already paying for them. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sent two California Clean Air Act waivers to Congress on Wednesday, opening the door for lawmakers to wipe out another pair of the state’s environmental mandates. Both involve ports. One covers ocean-going ships while they are docked. The other applies to ferries, tugboats, excursion vessels, and other commercial harbor craft. The EPA concluded that the waivers count as rules under the Congressional Review Act (CRA). The Biden administration never submitted them to Congress, according to the agency, meaning lawmakers were never given the chance to review them.

Florida’s different. The coalitions that have to be built here in Florida are different,” Fried said, admitting that many of the people in the Sunshine State actually escaped communist and socialist regimes. “You know, we have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people that call Florida home,

On Sunday, a new report came out that, among Saturday night's targets in Iran hit by American attacks, there was a strike against a nuclear facility under construction, that being what is called the Darkhovin facility. The Iranian government is said to be "furious." Good. This is a military target, no matter what Iran has to say about it. This is precisely the kind of target American forces should be razing to the ground. Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, in its outrage, is again dissembling; nothing this regime does is peaceful or has an entirely peaceful purpose. If this facility had been allowed to move to completion,

The United States conducted a new round of airstrikes early Monday targeting Iran after announcing the death of another American service member, hitting around a northwestern city believed to be home to underground missile bases. Iran responded by launching an attack targeting Bahrain, the home of the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, and Kuwait. The latest attacks again showed how, step by step, the U.S. and Iran have inched closer to all-out war as last month’s interim deal meant to permanently end the fighting has crumbled and shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has largely stalled. Both sides have targeted civilian infrastructure relied on by millions of people.

New Labour leader Andy Burnham has claimed that nationalisation – taking Britain back to the pre-Thatcher 1970s – will cure the country’s ills. He’s in for a very nasty shock, says Tim Wallace in the Telegraph. Here’s an excerpt. Grieving families, unable to bury their dead as gravediggers downed tools. Factories forced into a three-day week after a strike by miners. Hospitals blockaded by protesting NHS workers, ending all but emergency care. In the minds of some, these were Britain’s glory days, the pre-Thatcher 1970s for which Andy Burnham pines.

I do not hate any groups of people because of where they come from, what their ancestors did, or anything beyond their own actions as individuals, which might then land them in a group that I hate. People who hurt others, especially children, for example. But I don't blink about hating governments, and China has been a special case in my mind for years. On Thursday night, President Donald Trump took to (most of) the airwaves to announce some disturbing evidence regarding China and its attempts to meddle in the 2020 election. Considering Trump and his election integrity fight, I understand him bringing it up,

She became a leader of the ‘Women’s March’ movement but was ejected after they realized that she is a raging Jew-hater. It’s part of what led to the group’s downfall. With the rise of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), she has returned. Her views make her a perfect fit for this radical mob. In a recent video address to her supporters, she fantasized about replacing the Declaration of Independence with something that would better reflect the values of the left.

She further acknowledged Tuesday about 400 of those foreigners voted in recent election despite a legal ban on foreigners voting in federal elections. The admission came less than a week after President Donald Trump gave a primetime address presenting evidence of election vulnerabilities, including hundreds of thousands of noncitizens who made it on voter rolls, spy agency concerns about voting machine security and a Chinese effort to obtain American voter data.

[If] we don’t have the economy, we don’t have the guns, and we cannot defend ourselves. Not so long ago, I suggested that Hunter Biden is testing the waters for a presidential run. I'm not the only one who has noticed. (X) Discussion about a potential Biden run is still confined to the fringes, but Biden himself has been out and about quite a bit, appearing on podcasts, promoting his paintings, talking about addiction (ah, a redemption story!), and opining about politics. A lot of opining about politics.

Minnesota state employee Dylan Adams, who caused at least $20,000 in damage by keying multiple Teslas around Minneapolis last year, has been promoted to a supervisor position and given a raise. The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) confirmed to Alpha News that Adams is in a “temporary assignment as the supervisor of the Disability Services Division’s Fiscal Policy Team.” Adams started in the position last month. Alpha News has also learned that as part of the promotion, Adams received a $3.58/hour pay raise as his compensation rate went from $48.60/hour to $52.18. That means he’s likely now making a six-figure salary paid for by tax dollars.

His threat follows the US launching strikes on Iran for the 11th consecutive night, with Tehran warning the US against targeting its nuclear facilities.
