Are Second Amendment Cases the New Normal
at SCOTUS?

It's been 18 years since the Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, and in the nearly two decades since the Court has only taken up six cases directly related to those rights. Five years after Heller, SCOTUS struck down Chicago's ban on handguns, and in 2016 the justices issued a per curiam opinion that Massachusetts' justification for banning stun guns did not comport with Heller or McDonald. It took another six years for the Court to conclude that the right to bear arms was violated by New York's "may issue" permitting scheme.

Comments:

Clearly they are hammering away on the nation's gun law inching to complete their agenda.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill is blaming a software glitch in the state's motor vehicle system for accidentally registering 6,660 noncitizens to vote. She further acknowledged Tuesday about 400 of those foreigners voted in recent election despite a legal ban on foreigners voting in federal elections. The admission came less than a week after President Donald Trump gave a primetime address presenting evidence of election vulnerabilities, including hundreds of thousands of noncitizens who made it on voter rolls, spy agency concerns about voting machine security and a Chinese effort to obtain American voter data.

The Justice Department said Tuesday that it is monitoring polling locations in three Arizona counties as voters head to the sites for the day's state's primaries. The department said staff from its Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section is monitoring polling sites in Maricopa, Apache and Pima counties, in conjunction with Arizona’s U.S. Attorney’s Office. “The Department of Justice today continues to monitor elections consistently and in a uniform fashion nationwide, ensuring our elections are safe and secure,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said. “Transparent election processes and election monitoring—

Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, is believed to have been killed in action on July 17, 2026, during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan,” read a statement released by the Department of War. “The incident is under investigation,” the statement continued. “US Central Command previously announced this Soldier as missing. The Soldier status was updated to a Duty Status–Whereabouts Unknown and is believed to be deceased.”

Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, is prepared to address potential election irregularities in Arizona while also bringing the hammer down on acknowledged fraud in New Jersey. It’s primary Election Day in Arizona, with multiple key races — particularly Republican primaries — occurring, including governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and House District 1. Given Arizona’s track record of highly-contested and possibly rigged elections, it’s not surprising Dhillon put teams on the ground. We can never have too many precautions against election shenanigans in my home state, run as it is by very corrupt Democrats.

With the most recent departure of True Value Hardware headquarters, Illinois appears to be mimicking California's business-repellent formula, bolstering President Donald Trump's warnings to blue states that higher taxes equate to higher exits. "Job-producing people and companies are being forced to flee at levels never seen before. Remember, once people and companies leave, they are never coming back," Trump posted to his Truth Social account in April. True Value joins the ranks of other longtime Illinois companies like Boeing, Tyson Foods, Morton Salt and Caterpillar, the latter of which pointedly cautioned that the state's inability to balance the budget and lower taxes would drive out businesses.

Nick Shirley, the young man who has been putting “professional” journalists to shame with his on-site reporting on rampant Medicaid fraud, released another video exposing schemes in New York, these involving senior centers for elderly Koreans and Chinese. One that he visited, an adult day care in Flushing, claims to have nearly 8,000 members, for which it bills Medicaid $1,600 each. But even an employee admits that the number is wildly inflated. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz joined Shirley. “We uncovered over $190,000,000 in fraud,” Shirley says, “through adult and personal home care scams in NYC.

California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa said he is pressing ahead to have President Donald Trump's two impeachments expunged, arguing Democrats wouldn't have voted so easily had the evidence of falsehoods been public. “I intend on doing just that, making sure that we recognize and validate that false information and withheld information caused a Congress to think they could vote to impeach him,” Issa told the Just the News, No Noise TV show on Monday. “Knowing what we know now, even many of the Democrats would have had a much harder time facing the voters, knowing that they had willfully used false information.”

The left-wing Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed launched a new ad campaign last week highlighting his family's "roots in mid-Michigan." The ad features his step-grandparents, Judy and Jan Johnson, lauding his work as Wayne County health director. Absent from the spot was any mention of the candidate’s maternal half-sister, Eman Abdelhadi, the self-described "queer Muslim activist" and professor in the Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago who has advocated for a "stateless, communized society" and called to abolish the police. Abdelhadi was arrested for allegedly spitting on an Illinois state trooper at an anti-ICE protest last year.

The American Federation of Teachers, a union that bankrolls Democrat candidates and left-leaning causes, endorsed “gender-affirming care” Sunday, despite growing concerns about the negative effects of experimental transgender medical interventions. While some Democrats and progressives have suggested the party should move away from its commitments to “woke” litmus tests such as transgender ideology, the AFT’s move arguably makes that more difficult. “Because the AFT is effectively just a branch—a wealthy branch—of the Democratic Party, the union’s latest endorsement of so-called gender-affirming care means the party will almost certainly maintain its rigid support for transgender ideology,

Hawaii’s most recent Second Amendment defeat at the U.S. Supreme Court was both a major victory for the right to bear arms and entirely predictable. Since the court’s landmark decision four years ago in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, Hawaii’s anti-gun lawmakers had been trying to accomplish what Bruen had already forbidden: preventing ordinary, law-abiding citizens from carrying a firearm in public for self-defense.

Over the past week, the Iranian regime has demonstrated once again that its ambitions extend far beyond destroying Israel. It is a war against the entire Middle East and, ultimately, against the United States and the West. Tehran then launched missiles and drones not only against US assets but also against infrastructure in Arab countries across the Gulf, in addition to Jordan, presumably so they would pressure US President Donald J. Trump to call off US firepower and return instead to waste-of-time negotiations for a waste-of-time "deal" that Iran would not honor in the first place.

A software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to about four hundred non-citizens voting several years ago, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill announced on Tuesday. The error, which occurred under Governor Phil Murphy, added about 6,600 individuals to voter rolls even though they had indicated that they were not citizens. Sherrill’s announcement comes as Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin alleged that New Jersey had tens of thousands of non-citizens on its voter rolls last week.

The U.S. and Iran are back to bombing every day in a bid to control the Strait of Hormuz. And neither is backing down, showing the limitations of President Donald Trump’s reliance on escalating airstrikes to bend Tehran to his will. While the Trump administration says it is open to diplomacy, Iran so far has refused to loosen its grip over the crucial oil shipping corridor in the Persian Gulf. It is raising questions about the strategy for the next phase of the conflict as intensifying attacks have collapsed an interim ceasefire deal, left additional American troops dead and sent U.S. gasoline prices back up —

Fox Business correspondent Edward Lawrence recently reported on a big problem that the Biden administration left with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). He explained to Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner how the SPR was now at a 43-year low, noting how the Biden administration had drained 180 million barrels before the 2022 midterm elections. It was clearly for political reasons to help in the elections, not for the reason you're supposed to do it - for emergencies in the market supply. Then Biden never fully refilled it, Lawrence explained. But it gets worse than that. (X) The current Undersecretary of Energy, Kyle Haustveit,

Texas Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate James Talarico is trapped between two oncoming trains that are about to crash into each other. On the one hand, Talarico has been having fundraising success, mostly because he's done a great job of pretending to moderate his positions on transgenderism and aberrant Christian views, while claiming he now wants to secure the border. However, this moderation is not sitting well with his far Left progressive base. Just last week, Talarico wrapped up a 750-mile bus tour from El Paso to the Rio Grande Valley, claiming he wanted to show up, listen and learn from the border communities.
